Bird time in Oregon this week... I was at a family BBQ a couple of days ago and some kind of screeching parrot flew over.

It's called an Actuator, not a lock. As you correctly said, this provides the locking mechanism for the 4x4 on the front axle. Great truck! I hope the metal repair goes just fine... B for Build feat. Singing bird! LOL
Cool to see it come together. I would recommend painting the bare metal from the weld.
You can get that lower control arm pocket you can get from any F150. The Raptor and any 2011-2014 F150 4x4 are the same frame
Anytime u change a outter tie rod. To keep it as close to where it suppose to be u count how many times u turn it to take it off and then u turn it opposite that many times to put it back on. That will put it damn to exactly where it was before u took it off. I did it with my car n went get an alignment and the it was damn near perfect to where it needed to be. Just a little tip for anyone who's gonna change tie rods. 🤷♂️

Super stoked on your choice to facelift and keep the factory paint. That thing is gonna be way cool. I also really like your wheel and tire combo. This might be one of your best builds. Only in my opinion though. But I'm a truck guy and have always been a Ford guy as well. Cool stuff brotha.

Harry Palms LMFAOOOO couldnt have said it better myself. My raptor was hurt worse than that, so i just bought a right front stub off of a f150 that looked like it was hit by a train then rolled down Mt. Everest, and cut the mounts off of it and measured everything out and welded the mounts back onto my raptor frame. Zero issues and i've been driving it for 3 years now. Hope he doesn't plan on jumping it with that mount like that or he will be starting all over.

The Lug nuts are magnetic because the threaded part is steel with an aluminum housing over it.
Its impressive you got the suspension point as straight as you did. A shop would not have been able to fix it either. The repair plan was likely written to replace the entire frame. Glad to see it back on 4 wheels!
Maybe on the Lower control arm pocket check with suspension lift installation shops such as 4wheel parts on 82nd or les Schwab because to install a 6 inch suspension lift the factory lower control arm pockets are cut off the frame and new aftermarket drop crossmember with control arm pockets on them. Maybe they have the original cut of parts at the shop
Love watching this sort of stuff, but that's some super sketchy ground to be putting a giant truck on jack stands on.
I love the progress on this Raptor. my father had a F150 (2002) which he sold little before he died in 2004. I drove it but I had no licence. it had a lot of power so I can imagine the great power of the Raptor. I am a new subscriber ( about 2 weeks ago). I love the videos.

when the ford guys mentioned to pull the vucuum for the axle they were referring the the vacuum line that covers the 2 pins.
You have already pulled them. its the connected double hose on the back of the hub.
that four wheel drive clicky thing is the 4x4 actuator . you knew that though. good luck with the raptor, great trucks

Tire wheel combo looks badass
Have you checked to make sure the Gen II Raptor front clip will bolt on? The second gen Raptor is made on a completely different body style and material, aluminum vs. steel.
Todd Stverak judging by the hack job LCA mount repair, this is gonna be really interesting watching him try this. He’s gonna need to cut out a lot of the core support to fit the headlights.
Also body lines won’t match unless he goes with a fiberglass conversion kit, like Fiberwerx.
I’d commented on his first video saying that fender was aftermarket, guess he doesn’t read his comments 🤷🏻♂️
yeah it won’t bolt on, a ford employee told me, but we can make brackets, it’s going to be a full on facelift project, not just a quick swap of a few parts
Theres a guy here on youtube that did a facelift to a F150. It requiried him to take apart the entire front clip to swap over. More of a job than it needs to be.

I don't know if anyone has said this, but Ford lugnuts are either two or three piece pressed composites. As a result, they expand over time. Upgrade to solid one piece aftermarket lugnuts for a superior seating to the stock lugs.

Look into off road Baja style kits. I know for my ranger once you get into the big expensive upgrades you have to start cutting and repositioning stuff. Look into it

9:45 the thread inserts on those lugnuts are steel but the rest is aluminum. they wouldn't magnetize upside down.

You should paint the bracket white also with spray paint. It can be used to easily see if any cracks appear. It's used on structure testing at OEMs.
Ford did an excellent job on this generation of raptor. This truck 20 years later will still be bad ass
Once you get accustomed to the Raptor, you'll drive it all the time. They are so much fun in one package.

Make sure you torque the lower shock bolt down to 406ft/lb and use a new bolt. If not it can lead to clunking and even damage to the lower control arm. Forged Offroad sells a newer style bolt that has a longer shank and won't damage the control arm.

Some Fords come with bi-metal lugnuts. They're steel on the inside with an aluminum jacket.
tdhickman my advice is change them all. You can get one piece ones from Rock Auto for about 80 bux for all four wheels. You will have a hell of a time removing one of the two piece nuts if you ever get a flat somewhere and all you have is fords crappy lug nut wrench to do the job.

Great video. A good way to test that slightly sketchy-looking repair is to do an emergency stop. If it bends that wheel will move backwards and the car sorry truck will pull to the right (permanently). Don't ask me how I know this... (I changed the subframe in the end, but it looks like the chassis is one piece on your truck)
FYI - No vacuum on those IWE actuators actually locks the hubs makes it full time 4WD.... the problem with the ford 4WD system is that if there isn't enough vacuum to keep the hubs DISENGAGED - the IWE will start grinding and wear out.

You don't need to pull vacuum on the IWE to install it as far as I know. I did it on my F-150 both sides without doing that. Not sure if the raptor is different, but it looks the same.
If ur wondering only place that offer those is discount tire I work for them the lugs brand is bimecc we hav them in black or zink witch is wat u have

It probably has custom tunes programed for performance. So if you get that reprograming recall done you will need to get new tunes with a sct or other tuner.

Will a same year f150 not have that frame mount section? Does the raptor have a specific lower control arm because of the factory lift and different suspension?

Great Job, check out The Niko Brothers they had an extra frame from there build you mite be able to work something out for those Frame pockets. You and got an nice build going on . The face lift and color stay is an good choice. Still waiting for M5 repair to save the Evora from the extra miles. Excellent channel. I always remember B is for Build ✌🏽
Check with the lift kit industry. Too do a 6” lift they cut that section out with a template and the wield there attaching points back in giving the lift . Maybe they have the the right sections for you weld back in.
Im sure you will over think/build those mounts just fine. There a commonly modified part of lifting trucks. After seeing your past work, I'd drive it. Also, go easy on the f-ing bird ! On video it wasn't loud. Great background noise. Reminds me of home !

Sounds like it's missing a little when boost starts to build. You can hear it in the last acceleration clip. The body mount under the pass foot pan looks a little off. I see exposed bolt with no isolator.
Is that lower control arm support the same as the reular f150, Where im one of the salvage yards have multiple f150s
