Details: In today's episode we are showing you how to do a DIY at home paint job for small parts like a fender or a bumper. We are going to be pulling our fender off the truck, prepping it for paint, and then painting it to match our 2014 Ford Raptor. We will also be going over how to use truck bed liners, Raptor liner specifically, in our case on our bumper. That’s what I thought and I also thought wetting the flor was just a way to attract dirt to your space it’s not the same as having a raised flor with metal grate and water filtration system running under it
Chris you need to install hooks in the ceiling so you can hang the medium/smaller parts.

You should put some small round hooks or something in the ceiling so you can hang fenders and small projects like that

he put so less screws in the drywall that the panels will fall off when he put hooks in there

epoxy on the floor, that would look amazing and would be easy to clean
It needs wood ramps with grates to walk on... plus vents for down draft ventilation. It's a job but not impossible.

You know what I really like about ur channel? It’s that you’re going after those builds that we normal people can afford. Half the time you’re stabbing in the dark like us. Appreciate it man. Polyethylene pipe insulation is great for those stands so that you don't scrape the part and it also holds it a bit better when sanding.
Not many people sand inside their paint booth. Never really seen this before, Why? Think about it...
You do all your sanding in the prep booth. only thing that happens in the spray booth is the tac rag wipe off. Especially because he doesn't have a vac/air system like a true booth does either

@@steveesm3 True! to be fair he didnt do that much sanding. but it did come out good! if he was using body filler or anything i feel like he would've had a bad time though
Well even if you sand in the paint booth if you clean it out and wet the surface before painting to you'll be fine

I’m def not experienced in this field but he didn’t even look like he washed the underside at all. I realize that’s a minor detail but I’d power wash the underside AT LEAST. And I get why sanding in a paint booth is a no no. That’s common sense you’d think..

B is for build my favorite channel!!!
At my work we have rolling stands to hang parts in the paint booth. Just a simple thing with two uprights and a bar across the top with a length of chain welded along the bottom. Then you can put hooks anywhere along it and roll it out of the booth when you don't need it. it would save space for you when you have a to of pieces to paint and prevent any incidents like this.
I never knew how important a good clay and wax is for your paint, until I had to get a new door for my 2013 car. The body shop was mind blown even they couldn't really tell a difference in the new paint vs the original (other then natural variations in mix of course).

PPG is a water base paint witch helps when you paint say a new or old part due to the base not wanting to lift like other non water base paint we use that stuff at my shop and works amazing

Honestly, with the updated headlights the old front actually looks pretty cool. It would still be awesome to see the facelift, but I totally get it if you were to stop at its current state.

I have to say what a great job you've done with your paint booth. After what you had before this is SO much better! I'm looking forward to your next BIG paint job! Can you tell me what lighting source you're using, it sees to give a pure white light source aided by the paint you've done the walls & roof with.
Always if you rent a compressor check the water drain on the bottom and drain it if it hasn't been before you start.
spray fender flares with raptor and also all other plastic parts outside of truck too!
