      This. Or use a service similar to something like these guys: proto3000.com/service/3d-scanning-services/
      They say they have on site scanning. Could be costly though - anytime you see "call us for a quote" it's typically (but not always) expensive. Would be cost vs. time thing since the bracket ordered was $10 - but it's going to take 2 weeks to get it.
      Or reach out to a local group, heck even check on Craigslist or something - might find someone with a scanner and printer and get it done quickly without chewing into the budget.

    Hi Mate, i've worked on a few of these in the UK - if the battery DOES go flat again, instead of stripping the fenders and bumper off, just plug a battery charger into the cigarette lighter socket (most super cars come with these trickle charger types) - if the socket is permanently live (+12ve) then it'll charge without the key being in. If the Cigarette socket is only live when the ignition is on, the just press the start/stop button and it'll open the circuit and allow you to charge the battery when flat. Easy.

    If you hang the door before you hang the fender, it fits it’s self! Simply latch the door in closed position, then fasten door to hinges with fender off. That’s it, the door will be aligned to body and open and close smoothly. Then, hang fender. Looking great fellas

    A little trick if you find the hood latch not working is to apply voltage to the starter via a jump cable to give the car enough power to operate the hood latch. Should save some time once you get the front bumper installed. Saves the hassle of having to remove the bumper just to get access to the battery. This is a pretty common issue with many cars that see the battery placed in a location that you can't get access to, so should help with future builds as well!

    • @GWH1965
      @GWH1965 5 년 전

      That is a great idea, but on this car the starter is very had to get to. Another You tube rebuilder is doing the same car and they had to pull the whole back end off the car just to get to the starter, and cover panels off the bottom of the car. So maybe on a regular car like a ford or chevy.

    Deltran battery tender for that thing. Therefore when the battery goes dead or low you can just pull out the lead and plug it in. They make car leads that clip like jumper cables n ones that attached to battery permanently. They have them at local parts store or even Walmart

    Some cars have an emergency stud (possibly in the fuse box) that you hook a power jumper to and ground to the door latch that gives it enough power to operate the trunk latch if the battery is dead.

  • @ReMz10184
    @ReMz10184 5 년 전

    If it is anything like my Porsche, and since it is VW I suspect it is, there is a little jumper plug you can pull out by the brake pedal. Hook positive to that and put a ground nearby on the body (for me it was door latch). Boom! Frunk pops open and you can access the battery. Obviously you need another car or battery to do this.

    On the battery issue, with some cars you can plug in one of those emergency batteries into the cigarette or accessory socket to start the car if your battery goes dead. Maybe it would work in your case so you don't have to pull everything apart to get into the frunk?

  • @taxi615

    On bikes we run battery tender wires from the battery to more accessible areas you should do that so you can still charge the battery with the hood closed. Rerouting the hood release won't work they are probably way too short and besides it's miles more work than running a tender wire from the battery to the bumper.

    If the back trunk opens, possibly are positive and negative leads to charge the battery from there, or sneaky a battery charger in the front trunk and leave the ac cable near a wheel and when you storage it just take the cable to a plug or an extension plug...

    Since the black suede door panels seem to be really easy to find, instead of looking for a green one you should just buy another black one for the other side so they could match.
