It's a quickie build to flip. They didn't even shoot any primer under the silver. No body panels were removed from the body either. It's gonna look like ass.

I like it! It's real and gritty. My Question is: Why is he painting at 5 in the morning? What was he doing the rest of the day?
Not to mention the power folding hardtop.
They also didn't mask the keyhole and possibly the third brakelight.
This isn't a 10/10 style build like the V10 240

The gaps between the hood and front fenders are little questionable.
its disappointing for sure....its not really a matte "finish" just coating it with only the base paint...there is no protection to keep it from chipping really badly. color change without removing anything either....a lot of poor choices to keep a deadline I don't think we as viewers care about. 2-3 more days and it could have been very nice! too bad really, hope it goes home in an enclosed trailer, or its going to be really chipped up.

@@imhooks in my opinion the gaps are wider than normal because the hood are open to paintig. It is for good coat on every edges of hood , bumper and fenders
Man I hate being a hater but you should be priming over your repair areas and putting sealer over your new parts!!

Full send on that paint job. No primer, no clear coat, no problem.
I think you didnt sand it completely. You can see the light reflecting in a lot of spots.
I see that also, people seem to think that you must sand it with 600 grit or something of that roughness. It definitely helps to knock down the orange peel that is already there but with the new hood like that and all of the edges he could have sanded it like they did then red Scotch Bright pads will be your best friend to degloss the rest of it. Even that though with a silver on top with no sealer is pushing it. Make those metallic flakes stand up on all the sand marks but I guess it's not my car so doesn't matter really!!
Your work has never been stellar but you have always managed to drop the ball when it comes time to paint and this build is no exception

For about 30 minutes.
He says guess what time, I say 5am and he replies, "That's right, it's 5am." lol. The BMW is looking terrific and will be a looker once it's completely finished. Gotta give props to Andrew and Tavarish for being on deck to lend a hand and support in the build despite the length of time being spent on it. Kudos for burning the midnight oil to get things where they need to be for the build. Love the build as a whole and enjoying the channel. Cannot wait to see the conclusion! I wonder what would happen if you guys hammered on the Infinissan for a bit while letting the BMW dry. Thanks for the episodes of inspiration and keep us up north in your thoughts as we deal with all of this frostbite weather. Sending best wishes your way from Michigan and Peace out!

Two stage paint without the clear is just a terrible joke. You will be able to scratch the paint off with a fingernail

Robert Staff I’m quite disappointed whe he said matte paint job ( even matte has a clear coat) then said he wasn’t doing clear coat and was doing spray paint on the mirrors , I honestly love this channel but these shortcut paint jobs are making me look for other channels to keep me occupied in my free time . I’m doing a cheap paint job on my cheap rx8 .. I paid 200 for it and even it will get clear coat . The clear coat actually costed me more than 200 lol

disappointed in the prep on this one. skipped clear coat. skipped door jambs. skipped door handle removal.
Prolly no clear coat so he can paint it again without having to do allot of prep again. This was a quick job to just get everything the same color.

one thing I love about hardtop convertibles is that the rear quarter window actually goes down, such a clean look. wish they still did that on all cars
Been here since the first BRZ build but come on this is becoming ridiculous, I was waiting this to be a nice build but its just rushed. like RX-7. feels like in some terms the your videos quality has lowered from building point of view. I'm hopeful about your future videos so I will stay but really don't rush, your fans want you to do builds properly.
How do you not rush a 4 day build?

This car deserved a proper paint job. The skyline I would understand given its previous state but this one was fairly clean and deserved to be saved using OEM parts.
Man all I read is negative hate comments about butchering paint, relax my fellow youtube comrades. This is just a quick fun flip team up with tavarish. Not some sema creama show car. On a vehicle like this, with a time crunch, doing it right would've been to match it to the original red. Gutting it and then tearing it down fully to paint every bit correctly would be better for a color change. Indeed a color change should have been an episode after getting the car home, not something rushed at Freddy's Shop.
@@RantzCore - You should never do a color change on a car like this. And if you do, you should do it right. Hate to piss all over the guy, because he obviously doesn't care about this car, but this is truly a hack job.
For me I talk in general. I can definitely agree a pedigree car should be kept original color.

Guys he only had a few days to do this car. He will most likely go back and fix the areas that he missed (door jams, hinges, etc) so don’t give him grief just be happy he put a video out for us to watch. (I recommend putting bigger wheels on the Z4, there’s too much wheel gap to my liking)

Next time you paint something try to adjust your paint gun settings a bit. Looks like the spray out of the gun is too "weak" and the paint have time to cure in the air, resulting to that small fine powder all around. Also more thinner and/or less hardener in the paint could also help.

Yeah, that choice of not clear coating it will come back to haunt you in a year. There's a reason why clear coat should be used, and not because it makes it shinny.
