@Denis Jovanovic They do doors, front fender, hood, bumper and trunk all in carbon so it's possible very expensive but possible although If I was going to spend that amount of money on some carbon I would get full replacement molded widebody fenders so I didn't have to use rivets.

Paint the car black, then fade the black into the carbon just after the door. It would look awesome and unique. You would need a second carbon panel though. 😁

The quality of that carbon part is superb...I've been in the paint , body , and customizing field for 25 years and that looks straight and very very well made. Cudos to the company to do all that for the sake of helping a KRplusr out. Pretty solid dudes if u ask me.
20 years from now when this car has done its rounds and changed hands a couple times, some 20-something year old in a body shop somewhere is going to be sanding this unit down and have his heart skip a beat when he finds carbon fibre under the paint. He’s going to sand the other side and think, “what goon went through all that work just to do ONE panel?!”

you really thunk some drug cartel is gonna storm a customs building and attack multiple federal agents just to get some miniscule amount of drugs? theres a reason they use mules and proxies, its so they can have a fallman and dont sweat it when a shipment gets busted. the majority of their drugs come from sea or from trucks over the border. it is ridiculous to have every customs agent armed in a building when dedicated security guards would suffice, that said if they are allowed to carry guns, by all means its their right to carry them. but i think its ridiculous that people are here saying its a matter of national security that a paperwork official carries his service weapon to his desk job in Oregon

Unpainted carbon is dumb, it will get UV damage if not painted.
cody condos thats what clear coat is for
gel coat. and it still turns yellow after a while. not to mention it can start to separate. Had a Sieben CF hood for my G35 that had peeling gel coat. was going to have it completely refinished and paint matched, but sold the car before I had the chance.
I also have a Bass boat with gelcoat and it's a pain in the ass to keep up if you leave it exposed all summer. ever wet-sand and reflowed 20ft of boat? Not much fun.
much easier for him to paint the CF fender and never have to worry about it.

Well all the other quarter panels are cut for a wide body already. He would have to replace every other quarter if he didn’t go widebody
I wish he unwide body it. But that would be a hell of metal work to form and weld mising wheel arches, and buying them is expensive. But as a viewer i am a little sick of all the wide bodies and overfenders.
I'm really tired of widebody everything on this channel.

Go for entire car carbon fiber body panels at this point, and leave it all exposed! Sell the existing body panels to offset the cost

You guys do realize the total cost of that would vastly outweigh the cost of selling the standard panels right? You also realize the builds are about saving money? As in not buying parts unnecessarily. He's also going widebody so buying a bunch of carbon body panels just to chop them up is an even bigger waste of cash.
@@MuShinnen Good point about the cost, but Chris clearly already has a good relationship with this company. I don't think it would be crazy to think that they would give him a great deal on the remaining panels in exchange for continued advertising on his channel.

I thought I was the only one that noticed that.... maybe in his infinite wisdom he doesn't know how to use string or tie down straps to attach anything to the roof rack?.....lol
@@crimsonking8746 Weight. Too light. Carbon Fiber weighs almost nothing. Trying to tie it down would require too much stress on it. Most likely doing a large amount damage.
@@jad43701 -wide straps would distribute the load an prevent possible damage...no? Not to mention, if he left it in the box, that would negate concern for direct pressure on the carbon fiber panel...🤔
@@crimsonking8746 To get it properly snug, you would still have to tighten it. Which would deform the box and most likely still damage the part. Only he wouldn't know it till he got home. Plus you have to remember that he driving on the highway at 70+ MPH. That alone will cause buffeting and bouncing the fender around causing damage. So a little discomfort is worth keeping that fender in good shape.

Chris - as you know, you're going to need to get some panel bonding adhesive to attach that quarter panel to the car. When I did collision repair for like 5 years, we used 3M 08115 body panel adhesive for things like this, and that's what you'll want to use for this application, too. I'd get two things of it, just to be on the safe side. Plus, if you don't use all of it, it can sometimes be used in place of welding panels, even though your welding skills have come a long way. It can even be used to repair plastic bumpers in some cases!
I never realized how huge those rear brakes were until you were installing them. Holy cannoli.

Andrew Does Life did raptor to my jeep zj about 8 months ago. No issues at all as of yet apart from a Qtr inch section on a door sill where I didn't prep well enough. Apart from that all good.

@@BisforBuild wait your going to cut it out for the widebody, why r u doing the inner shell for the wheel wells first? Why not just cut the quarter panel to fit the widebody and then build the inner wheel wells? Otherwise you'll have to cut the inner wheel wells that you have previously built. Unless you want to use the wheel wells for guidance? Idk tbh.
Gonna be a shame to cut the arch on the CF panel to fit the wide body kit but at least it won't rust 👌🏻

Edit: won't this offset the weight balance of the car? If 1 side is carbon and the other isn't. I imagine the carbon one weighs quite a bit less than the standard

its honestly about a 4-5lb difference, its not huge, those stamped panels dont weigh much. If youre really looking for weight savings its in the doors and double layer panels, but then you lose a bunch of safety and have to make up for it with a roll cage, and then you're back to square one.. :p

@@ImLuxiy I get that. Still half of an upgrade in my opinion. Wheels are done in sets. Front fenders are done in sets. Now is the time to do both sides since its mostly apart. It's just not complete.
Its a DIY build with a budget, if skimping on a 2nd carbon quarter panel is the worst corner he cut IMO that wouldnt be a big deal you gotta save money somewhere to keep rebuild cost low. It bothers me much more that he didnt restore the airbag system. On the bright side I find this build more interesting than the 240 build TBH. I would like a high performance OEM+ style build but I get we probably have different taste

They handle more than just paper work chode, they’re federal agents, lots of shit comes through customs, with the potential for robbery, lots of highly sought after expensive shit comes through there
And in lots of cases, paperwork can be more valuable than items depending what’s in the paperwork
