    I don't know how far behind these videos are, but the two diagonal support bars in front of the radiator are a nice touch if you paint them. I've seen them done in an anodised red before and they look mean behind a black grill. It's a nice subtle touch.

    For a guy with such bad luck, you dont wear a lot of safety gear. If there is a 1 in a million chance for something to happen it happens to be and thats why when i do any metal work welding grinding etc I have thick leather gloves, my welding jacket, safety goggles with a face protector, and boots.

    • @Cali_MD
      @Cali_MD 5 년 전 +1

      scruffy absolutely! I only wear Oakley glasses because they come standard with impact protection. I thought I would never have to test that feature but I’m glad they held up. A large wrench slide off a adjustment bolt in my coil overs and went point end first into the glasses in the middle of my eye. Luckily the titanium frame just temporarily deformed to take the shock and the lens took the impact with a small diver and scratch. I cut my nose but I was so thankful I was randomly wearing my glasses (I usually don’t when working on my car because I am near sighted).

Also maybe use a sanding block and dolphin glaze on the top part of the front bumper where the badge goes, usually there's dips in the moulds. (Used to paint Bmw fiberglass kits for a living.)

    • @bobroberts2371
      @bobroberts2371 5 년 전 +3

      If the wheel was dropped, the breakage would have been more random. Look at the perfect circle of the part left on the grinder 4:49 and the pieces on the mesh 5:02. It looks like the cutoff wheel had something dragging on it about 3/4" from the edge or someone had previously used the cutoff wheel as a grinding wheel weakening the wheel.
      Thin cutoff wheels are made for use on their outer edge only and are just fine for what he was doing. Thicker grinding wheels can be used on the face of the outer edge.
      It is good that the guard is still in place this saved him a bit. I've seen too many people take them off for no good reason. The guard isn't set properly however, it is there to protect your hands while holding the grinder so it needed to be turned 90 CW so the closed portion is towards the operator. .
