    Chris, you're making 1000+ HP, no such thing as cooling overkill. Run two pumps! Also, if one fails, you can still limp it home on one and still have an engine.

  • @daronhodges1334
    @daronhodges1334 4 년 전 +913

    Fellas, you have calibrated the pump using a 12volt supply. When the car is running it will be (approximately)14volts, therefore the pump will be stronger. Beware this will be more than 100% and may cause issues with your ECU. Suggest you calibrate to 85% and give some tolerance. Great job... by the way. Watching from UK. Daron

That's cool! I couldn't imagine what this car will feel like when done but with a twin turbo'd Texas speed L.S. wow! My only wish is that it was A. W.D. just for traction and performance sake! Both power to weight ratio, along with arrow dynamics are deffinately on your side!

  • @AcousticFoxbuskers

    Hi from the UK, I'm not sure how you have plumbed in your 2 pumps, I guess with one front and one rear then they must be in series, this doesn't increase flow rate it increases pump head (pressure)
    If it helps, as a rule
    identical pumps in series = double head (pressure) at the same flow rate
    identical pumps in parallel = double flow rate at the same head (pressure)
    In your setup now, the reason your flow rate increases when you start the second pump is because it is adding a restriction when it ISN'T running.
    love the show by the way, great stuff
    Matt

    Can you not adjust the voltage to the pumps to keep the pressure what you want it to be and maybe be variable by the temp?

    Oil Filter - use the filter adapter that you got with the oil pan and get a oil filter relocation kit from your sponsor Mishimoto and you can put the cooler in those lines

    What model digital flow sensor did you get? I’m interested in adding that into my build.

    You should be careful the front one doesnt actually suck air in, maybe a 1 way valve would be good on the air bleed. Eitherway a bit of a flow limit on there wouldn't go a miss.

    How much clearance is there below the harmonic balancer and the belt? Looks really close in the vid, just hope it wont flap about and snag a tooth on the balancer going the opposite direction....

    Since you plan on drag racing this with a manual trans that is by no means cheap, you should look into making a clutch delay valve. McMaster Carr has a flow control valve that works, and just a simple line lock. It’ll allow you to slip the clutch instead of just dumping it and shock loading the whole drivetrain. Will also help for street driving with an extremely grabby clutch.
