It's much more worth running away and looking for something else than risking your life, only humans take risks like that, most animals, if not all of them, prefer to be safer in their decisions and risks.
Therefore, the only plausible alternative is that this adult cat is a mother protecting her kitten, since cats and dogs are one of the species that are most aggressive toward their offspring... Or are you going to tell me that you wouldn't act equally aggressively if someone tried to kidnap your daughter or son?

They ended up getting the mama cat too but sheโs was for Ferrel so they grabbed the kitten. Cleaned her up & gave her proper shots & what not & then later when back to get the mother cat

Cats have such strong mothering instincts they will even adopt kittens of other cats and sometimes other species. I've seen them seek out humans to help their sick kittens, risking losing them to save them. I know this kitten will have a better life, but I'm sure the mother was taking care of it. Animals deeply mourn the loss of their babies. I would have fed the mother and encouraged her to visit and check on her baby.

My kitten was missing for a few days and our dog was acting weird near our fence and found the kitten in our neighbors yard and grabbed him like she did and I got a few scraps for it.

The woman caught my cat ๐ in a cage. I have up to 7 cats at a time. I feed all of them and let them be free. I was so mad. She said, "You're just gonna feed em to your pit bulls." I don't even have a dog. Her friend told her to give me my cat ๐ back. She did, but it took everything she had to give her back. It was my first cat. She was the great grandmother to all of my cats.
Some people are so crazy. Thank God you finally got your cat back. Some people out there need to mind their own business. I'm all for helping an animal in need but you don't just show up and steal a person's pet off the property that is clearly being fed and cared for !

If a cat is fighting another animal and you step in, the cat will most likely try to still attack the animal (not you) or run away. If the cat was taking care of the animal (kitten) and you grab it, then it will attack YOU.

I agree with the other people I think that was a mother cat to the kitten. I think that's why that other cat was very unhappy with that woman that picked up her kitten. I hope they were able to get the mother cat too and put them back together. All animals that have babies want to keep them they don't want people taking them away from them this woman had no right unless she was going to take them both on
I have a feral mom that now lives in my back yard when I started feeding her. Then I got her and baby warm shelters set up in my porch over the winter. She behaved the same way with her baby. I trapped them and got them both spayed. Itโs been 6 months and she is still that protective over her adult daughter. Iโm hoping to spend time with them this summer socializing them. My goal is to one day get them adoptable. Itโs too bad this lady grabbed that cats baby and didnโt trap them both . If the baby is injured I guarantee itโs not from the mom.
What is feral?
@@hanatakumi2523 a feral is a cat born on the streets rather than one that was lost or abandoned. They lose the domestication and basically youโre dealing with a wild animal with wild instincts for survival. If you can get them when theyโre kittens you can usually domesticate them fairly easily. But once an adult it is harder and harder and may be impossible but at least my two ferals are used to me. And Iโm going to start spending time with them when itโs warmer in the back yard. Actually the daughter shows more promise but I would never try to separate them as they are very bonded. If you canโt domesticate a feral the next humane thing is to trap and get them spayed or neutered and then either attempt a long process of trying to domesticate which I didnโt have the time for as I work and have three indoor cats and a dog or release them back where you found them or get them to an area where thereโs reliable food and shelter. At least they canโt continue to breed, thatโs most important to stopping the cycle. There are some rescues that work on domestication but they are so full right now. My local shelter will pay for trap spay/ neuter and release but wonโt take on the long process of domestication. And even some prisons will have cat programs where the prisoners take a feral kitten and domesticate it for adoption.
I keep my feral mom in the back yard too, but she kept climbing the privacy fence to steal the little dogs food that lives behind us. So I asked my neighbor what brand of food they used and now I use it too, now mom stays in the back yard. I feel soon she will be domesticated.
