This is so special to me. The way he’s speaking himself despite it being the insecure side of himself. His fears and insecurities. I have really bad insomnia and anxiety and I finally gathered the courage to watch this. Halfway through, I felt myself getting drowsy and realised my head hadn’t been this at ease in weeks. So no, Kim Namjoon, if you don’t believe you’re worthy of conquering the world which you rightfully are doing, you did save one person and I can speak for them. I didn’t even get to finish the fourteen minutes, I fell asleep and didn’t wake for like five hours. This is a huge because usually I would get 2-3 max. I am SO grateful for this man and all that he stands for.

Ever since Dynamite smashed records (especially in the western market) I kept wondering how bittersweet the accomplishments must be for them especially since there’s only a sliver of contribution (as RM stated) within the song. His doubt over the drone of ‘music truly transcends barriers’ is very well founded. His doubts over sincerity and the resulting uncertainty - I could feel the thunderstorm of emotions they might have had - an English song (albeit missing that BTS lyrical charm) resonating and blowing up amongst people, whereas a non-English song (containing the very heart of what BTS is) didn’t reach out to many. Namjoon, please know that a major part of BTS’s fan base is here for the message of hope and love. We listen to the sincerity which you and the members pour in every song and in every album. That’s your certainty. The certainty of having people who look up to you and are grateful for supporting your art. Even though BE doesn’t do as well as Dynamite (chart wise), please know that ARMY’s will cherish the album will all our hearts, after all an album ‘doing well’ is subjective as you stated. We see you, we love you and we support you. Continue to speak with sincerity and we’ll listen to it all with utmost sincerity. ❤️

RM is really incredible, he's a deep thinker but a very passionate person.

I hope he knows that sometimes he can just do what he wants and not what he feels he has to do.. I’ve never encountered anyone so successful yet so worrisome... When I listen to RM talk, he says he’s rambling, but I hear wisdom beyond his years.

The best thing about listening to RM speak is that he makes you think about yourself. It's easy to just watch other people talk about themself, but making someone start reflecting on themselves after hearing you speak truly shows how intuitive RM is.

I could honestly listen to him talk for hours. He has a such a way with words and is so sincere in what he says that it always shows. I'm glad to hear that Namjoon is still passionate about music and hearing that comment about how humming a tune makes him happy made me smile. But I realize that it's not the same passion he felt as a rookie and I hope that with this album and just along the way he can find that again :)

My youngest son is a 94-liner; I’m old enough to be your aunt. So, please hear me that way. … First, about the achievements of BTS and something to remember during the difficult, questioning moments. The music industry in English-speaking countries is absolutely a tough nut to crack, especially the US market. In many ways, it is closed to anything not ‘mainstream’. The decision-makers have tremendous influence over what people hear, what becomes popular. Marketable categories are everything. … The situation for K-Pop at the moment is not unlike the rise of Motown. Motown happened because a specific ethnic group was blocked from the mainstream (white) music industry, but that ethnic group was full of talented people with music in them. Much like K-Pop, Motown rose in an identifiable geographic place, produced a unique sound (inspirational vocals, stunning harmonies, innovative studio production), accompanied by a particular look (classy clothes, synchronized dance moves, boy groups/girl groups). decided to watch namjoon's log again.. it comforts me that the people i look up to also have their own set of worries and doubts.. it feels like i'm stuck on whether to go forward or remain in my comfort zone.. although i'm still undecided, just watching this lightens my mind

The words he spoke , the way he communicated is genuinely invigorating... sometimes you might even feel the trail of words flows out like poetry...And that is just how he is, normally thinks after waking up , how he usually thinks...I can't begin to imagine , how his inner thoughts generate, kindle different aspects of life, finds trail & takes shape... That shows how much genuine & beautiful he is as a human being...

He is still questioning his love for himself.. They are just like us.. That's why we can relate to them more..

It's interesting to find that the doubts from my small life are reflected in Namjoon's mind. He has the ability to express them more clearly and poetically than i can. I should be "older and wiser" than a musician nearly half my age, but that's the beauty of BTS, they speak to everyone's hearts.

In the music industry, it's easy to fall down the rabbit hole of thought sometimes and question whether or not you're staying true to your vision and who you are and this can sometimes lead to doubt... keep looking up at the sky when you can and taking time to yourself, when you can, to realign... and also accept that part of the musical journey is also evolving and changing and that that isn't a bad thing. Change is inevitable in all aspects of life. I doubt RM will ever read this, but you're on the journey you were meant to be on, and when you can reconnect with who you are inside, you will find your passion and path again more clearly. You've been doing a wonderful and inspiring job already. ^_^

Reading comments of this post is amazing.
There are less nonsense, "hit like" and other usual chattering.
This is amazing because this sparks deeper and more meaningful conversations and dialouges.
The way Namjoon expresses his worries and plans for the future hits us differently, recently watching their videos on preparing for the album makes me excited to see how much sincerity and emotion they put to give us high quality messages through their songs and visuals.
They make us think for ourselves, what we can do to improve our lives, what passion that drives us to keep going, to not be carried on by the monotonous habituality we experience each day.
This is a message of hope and becoming who you want to be, who you dream to be and who you are to be. This also reminds us that along the way we will also experience worries and anxiety while reaching our dreams, but we should be afraid to continue striving and persevering.

He keeps saying that "It's more than we deserve" but he needs to know, and so do all the members, that everything they've achieved so far and are yet to achieve, they deserve it all. They work so hard and they deserve all that that they have achieved because of their hard work. They need to remember that they deserve it all and so much more.

I love when Namjoon talks. If feels like I'm automatically absorbing all the words he's saying. He talks so nicely and I feel so touched and connected. I can never get tired of his life lessons. Okay, what I take away from this:
We absolutely need to make sure that the next title song, which is in Korean, will hit number one as well.
We need to show him and the guys that it wasn't the fact that the song was in English, but that the fandom has become gigantic at this point, that they went to no. 1.

I love this: this simple sincerity, confusion, hope, and faith. RM's not religious but clearly is deeply spiritual, and his way of sharing that part of his life is so inclusive and warm. He is incredibly mature for his years - while in Korean age he's 27, in western convention he has just turned 26 - so young for such simple wisdom and thoughtfulness. He carries it very lightly, but it's clear that it informs and supports everything he does.

Hi Namjoon, I am grateful you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts with us, even outside music, especially when it comes to difficult things. I can't invalidate how you feel and I am grateful to have the privilege to listen to your most personal thoughts.
I want to share my own experiences. It has been a bit over 5 years, since I found my miracle that is Bangtan and had the honour to listen to your voices, read your lyrics and be aRMy. Your lyrics for the school trilogy, HYYH series at the time, and your mixtape RM really stood out to me. The school triology was giving me comfort, because I was a final year high school student at the time; being from a South Asian background, living in the west, struggling with the dysphoria, I had a lot of cultural expectations placed on me, having my entire life, and career goals planned out for me. I felt like I had no free will, and school was a very difficult time for me. I felt horrible, my entire self-worth being identified and associated with a grade. The School Trilogy game a lot of comfort in that regards. Listening to RM, saved my life, reading through your lyrics made me cry, and comfort me. The way you shared your story, and pursued and carved your own path, even though you had a lot of familial expectations to go on another road. RM, comforted the loneliness I felt, just living in this world as a human being. I have been struggling depression and anxiety since high school and eventually got officially diagnosed in university (after mono came out! You gave me the final push to get help when I was hurting, because I didn't want to hurt myself anymore. I wanted to cherish myself). I really did want to give up on life because living was so painful, and I truly felt no one understood myself, my own desires, and will. It was listening to RM, reading through the lyrics on Life and Adrift, that comforted me. You made me want to keep going. You inspired me to fight to carve for my own path in life when no one approved mine. I am still fighting today as well to continue carving my own path.
Perhaps, on the surface, to the general public, song-writing is an after thought. But to me, song-writing, lyrics, YOUR LYRICS, have always been the signature of Bangtan, and it was what stood out to me, it was your lyrics that impacted me, your lyrics that saved and changed my life for the better. So I want to say, thank you for working so hard ever since you have been a kid, we have shared our youths together, but you spent it all, giving your heat and soul to the public and to aRMY, giving us comfort, strength and hope.
I am forever and eternally grateful, I found your voice, I read your lyrics and words. You express yourself, with the world through music, and through poems and writing, and along the way you changed my life for the better. So thank you.
I am about to finish of my tech degree, so I want to use an analogy. When it comes to services or tech, we look at a bell curve, for the true innovators that are ahead of their time, they have early adopters, sitting at the start of the bell-curve that understand them and their vision. This is a very small percentage. The general public who just stay within the status-quo stay in the center. They don't like change or understanding the changing and evolving world. This also means your music. They will all be very slow to understand what it is you guys are doing. What you guys are doing, creating music and being artists for healing, in every aspect and form, you are true innovators ahead of your time. The western music industry doesn't have to understand what you guys are doing, in fact majority of people won't. But I do, and aRMy from so many different paths in life, who you have changed their lives forever for the better do.
The world, doesn't' ever need to understand what you guys are doing, but they will one day I promise you. But know, I and aRMy will always listen to your voice, read your heart, we will always be with you.

i really appreciate his sincerity. sure he wouldnt be sharing everything but he's also not putting on a fake smile and pretending. im happy that he feels comfortable enough with us to do that, and as someone who has been babied their whole life it feels nice to finally be treated as a mature person. he's trusting that we have the maturity to react sincerely to his sincere words. he's treating us as people, not just fans.

I love the way he's thinking. Namjoon is my idol when its comes to leadership. Young gentleman with a great personality and matured enough when he's talking.

As an ARMY, I feel the need to restore his confidence in language not being a barrier. It feels like a responsibility, I don’t know why.

Just my two cents on the matter: I think it's a pretty natural part of the process of maturing that the relation with our work - and what we like - changes over time. It's like that with our work, with our hobbies and also our personal relationships. It is very important indeed to try to go back to one's roots and remember the essence of what was at the beginning as a way to move forwards. Searching for the soul of things is of the essence, but it must come with the serenity of mind about its mutability, as well. All things must change in order to stay alive.
This growing and developing new ways of relating to everything is made even harder by the fact that our society value a sort of life that is based on “being novelty and eventful" all the time... It just sets a standard that's unreal and unachievable. Most our lives will be relatively uneventful and, sometimes, dull. And if it weren't, the events would lose their meaning, as well! The fact that the special occasions are rare are part of what makes them special.
That being said, we are all faced with the challenge of keep growing as people in an environment that is not always in our favour, whether the obstacles are more internal or external in nature.

The world hungers for truth, honesty and sincerity and the reason that ARMY is drawn to BTS is because they, as artists, create lyrics and music that reflect their personal truths, vulnerabilities, dreams and observations. At least this is why I love BTS, because they dare to be REAL, authentic and unfiltered.
