Many troops who fought in Russia were redeployed in Normandy along with foreign's conscript units too. To arms them all, they used also the ton of russian weapons captured between 1942-'43. They gave them new german names, even manual to operate those weapons, and delivered to units. What developers did was right. A really fine historycal reconstruction.

In that game a class had a unique progression system, for example, an assault class can upgrade one branch of the tree to go for more medic equipment, or the they can go for the more assault equipment such as under-slung rocket launcher/shotgun.

Respectfully DICE, I don’t like this and it does not look like WW2. When the community asked for customisation, I don’t believe this is what anyone had in mind. Was hoping for uniforms that don’t stray too far off the beaten path. Like changing holster locations, degrees of battle-worn outfits, more pouches or bullet bandoliers, a bunch of different ghillie suits for recon... but instead recon gets no ghille suits as monetised customisation? When they were iconic to the era... but instead I can be an Asian lady with an odd hat my gran wouldn’t even wear out, in a fashionable duster, with detachable limbs and the ability to put twigs on my gun... why would I put twigs on my gun if I don’t have a ghille!? it just looks so silly. I’m so sad because all I’ve wanted is a WW2 game so badly. Some of it looks ok, but the rest is so jarring. An Asian woman in a derpy hat, face paints, golden weapons, every gender and race and sexual identity perfectly represented to the point I feel like I’m in a Nivea advert, not WW2, prosthetics, even the white budget-Kratos dude looks like he is of Swedish decent, I couldn’t tell if there is even an army or nazis in this I honestly don’t know what I’m looking at here. The immersion for me is just totally blown. If I’m meant to be getting this “just for gameplay” as many suggest, I would rather just go back and play bf4 or bf1, and put that money to another game. This game feels like it’s confused and does not know what it wants to be. It’s just a bunch of things and stuff and genders all just yoloing about. Also I’m sure the micro transactions are gonna be pretty steep. I've always wanted soldier customisation in Battlefield games, but this just isn't right. None of these people look like they belong in a professional military, let alone WW2
You may like World War 3, the modern shooter made by Farm 51. It has customization, yet still keeps authenticity to the real-world armies. Hell, they even went to each military group and got to test the weapon sounds/vehicle looks(like they did in BF1).

Its actually funny, because that tree system they showed is from battlefield 2142. In that game a class had a unique progression system, for example, an assault class can upgrade one branch of the tree to go for more medic equipment, or the they can go for the more assault equipment such as under-slung rocket launcher/shotgun.

Except the pre-order numbers were released, and BF5 is lagging behind BO4 by 85%. I'll spell it out for ya: EIGHTY FIVE PERCENT. For comparison, BF1 was AHEAD of it's generation of Cod by 40%. The game is a financial flop, i'm not even sure if they got any profit at all so far.

Respectfully DICE, I don’t like this and it does not look like WW2. When the community asked for customisation, I don’t believe this is what anyone had in mind. Was hoping for uniforms that don’t stray too far off the beaten path. Like changing holster locations, degrees of battle-worn outfits, more pouches or bullet bandoliers, a bunch of different ghillie suits for recon... but instead recon gets no ghille suits as monetised customisation? When they were iconic to the era... but instead I can be an Asian lady with an odd hat my gran wouldn’t even wear out, in a fashionable duster, with detachable limbs and the ability to put twigs on my gun... why would I put twigs on my gun if I don’t have a ghille!? it just looks so silly. I’m so sad because all I’ve wanted is a WW2 game so badly.
Some of it looks ok, but the rest is so jarring. An Asian woman in a derpy hat, face paints, golden weapons, every gender and race and sexual identity perfectly represented to the point I feel like I’m in a Nivea advert, not WW2, prosthetics, even the white budget-Kratos dude looks like he is of Swedish decent, I couldn’t tell if there is even an army or nazis in this I honestly don’t know what I’m looking at here.
The immersion for me is just totally blown. If I’m meant to be getting this “just for gameplay” as many suggest, I would rather just go back and play bf4 or bf1, and put that money to another game. This game feels like it’s confused and does not know what it wants to be. It’s just a bunch of things and stuff and genders all just yoloing about.
Also I’m sure the micro transactions are gonna be pretty steep. I’m also very burnt after picking up SWBF2 with the same monetisation model, and you guys literally just ditched it and didn’t even uphold one year of content or fix bugs. No hate to the devs, but I’m just disappointed and I’m gonna give this one a miss.

If I showed it to my grandmothers who lives through that era, they'd say the same thing. Women soldiers were not that common (although one of my grandma's sisters signed up for the military and served. She just wasn't drafted. I'm guessing better that way). Plus, uniforms were definitely not that colorful and fashionable at the time. And Asians fighting with the allies? XD. When? There were barely any Asians in Britain I'm assuming. Let alone fighting Nazis. It was a different world back then. LGTBQ and SJW ideologies did not exist back then. What a shame man. Had high hopes for this game

What is with the startling lack of combat helmets in a WW2 game.... running around with fat bald head , blue stripe down your face and a string vest is ridiculous. How are people not mentioning this? YES BF1 had a lack of character customisation but this did allow for the integrity and look of the world to be upheld. SILLY customisation removes the integrity of the game and reduces

You may like World War 3, the modern shooter made by Farm 51. It has customization, yet still keeps authenticity to the real-world armies. Hell, they even went to each military group and got to test the weapon sounds/vehicle looks(like they did in BF1).
