They didn't just hamper themselves, they fundamentally reduced the lethality and effectiveness of the entire squad.

They probably just wanna get ppl who want to play as fictional characters and a potential income for the game since EA said all dlcs will be free. While many players want to dress up as an WWII soldier many others want to play around with the customization system. I mean it's a game afterall, not a WWII simulator. There is a lot of propagandist statements being flung around about the historical accuracy and abilities of women in combat scenarios. The makers of the game have also come out firing on that front. So I thought I would post some facts. If you google that Marine Corp Force Integration Plan study you will see some pretty damning evidence that clearly demonstrates why women have never been included on the battlefield (aside from rare exceptions). Given all the people below arguing that they have been, and are capable, I wanted to put out a counter argument that was factually based and truthful (however much that might be distasteful to some). Your multiplayer argument is fair, as is the historically accurate server argument. I am not really fussed by the inclusion of women in multiplayer. They play the game, so fair enough. Oh, and I am a writer, I type using all fingers on the home-row keys. That post took me less than 30 seconds :)

Maby it will not be as historical as you want, as I want lol. But they talked about the fall of Europe, so we will have the battle of dunkirk, fight in Rotterdam (he mentioned that). So they will cover everything of the war. Probably also operation barbarossa, and battle of france. This is amazing. And the multiplayer will be SJW'ish but from what I saw, who cares. If I want to play a historical accurate game I would play Day of Infamy, this will be fun trust me. Amazing graphics with big maps. I must say, I am hyped for this!

I love the idea of "Tides of war" where you progress through the war chronologically. Also like the "grand operations" idea to play bigger/longer operations. Also love it the game is going back/down on UI clutter and icon hunting/shooting, more situational awareness. I'm curious how i should read the 'Company' thing, is this where I create different kinds of soldiers or is this a big group of friends you can call in during a battle? If it's the latter, you really need a very big and active BF gaming group, which could be a downfall and a feature that flops. I also love the soldier customization, but I hope it doesn't become a circus or a halloween dressup. Soldiers wear uniforms it's just as simple as that. There is some room to wear something else, it's maybe ok to wear other stuff like headcovers, gloves, boots, face paint, maybe clothing camo patterns. Maybe there is a better option, when you start off as a basic soldier in a standard uniform and the more you play the game, the more you can choose to be able to wear weathered clothes, boots, helmets, etc. to see you're a veteran or weathered player, which also includes mud/grit on your face. Next to that you also want to be able to recognize the enemy, where every split second counts. Which brings me to gun, please only be able to spawn with weapon that belong to your faction/country. No spawn with MP40 as a British soldier, whatever you pick up on the battlefield is ok.

While I can't go outside of The Soviet Union in terms of women fighting and what I know and have read. The Soviet Union employed well over 2000 women. In a broad sense serving within the military the USSR employed 900,000 women in a number of roles. With something like 100,000 in air defense forces manning anti aircraft guns which at Stalingrad and other cities for example they certainly saw combat. Doctors, nurses, radio operators, and drivers while not considered "front line" roles. At the start of the war between Germany and the USSR the front line to a large degree had disappeared and nurses and doctors would find themselves on the "front line" and would and did fight and die in combat. As far as the propaganda and the 2,000 women you speak of some 1,061 women were employed as snipers and 74 women were employed as sniper instructors. How we as a whole know this isn't propaganda is that Germans reported fighting them and really not having a fun time of it. If it was just Soviet Propaganda the Germans wouldn't bother writing about it in diaries and other written works. I'll just wrap up by saying that this says nothing to partisan forces behind German lines which records really weren't kept of or militia units that did include women.

I do see your point but the trailer is just showing the new features that's gonna be in the game and very likely multipler. They probably just wanna get ppl who want to play as fictional characters and a potential income for the game since EA said all dlcs will be free. While many players want to dress up as an WWII soldier many others want to play around with the customization system. I mean it's a game afterall, not a WWII simulator. Besides after seeing all this criticism here, I am pretty sure there will be some historically accurate server, soooo... u are not really losing that realism aspect of the game.
Max - fair enough, I do get a bit annoyed (as you say, triggered is a bit of a stretch). I guess my post is mostly in response to the arguments being waged in other posts. There is a lot of propagandist statements being flung around about the historical accuracy and abilities of women in combat scenarios. The makers of the game have also come out firing on that front. So I thought I would post some facts. If you google that Marine Corp Force Integration Plan study you will see some pretty damning evidence that clearly demonstrates why women have never been included on the battlefield (aside from rare exceptions). Given all the people below arguing that they have been, and are capable, I wanted to put out a counter argument that was factually based and truthful (however much that might be distasteful to some). Your multiplayer argument is fair, as is the historically accurate server argument. I am not really fussed by the inclusion of women in multiplayer. They play the game, so fair enough. Oh, and I am a writer, I type using all fingers on the home-row keys. That post took me less than 30 seconds :)

Maby it will not be as historical as you want, as I want lol. But they talked about the fall of Europe, so we will have the battle of dunkirk, fight in Rotterdam (he mentioned that). So they will cover everything of the war. Probably also operation barbarossa, and battle of france. This is amazing. And the multiplayer will be SJW'ish but from what I saw, who cares. If I want to play a historical accurate game I would play Day of Infamy, this will be fun trust me. Amazing graphics with big maps. I must say, I am hyped for this!

I love the idea of "Tides of war" where you progress through the war chronologically. Also like the "grand operations" idea to play bigger/longer operations. Also love it the game is going back/down on UI clutter and icon hunting/shooting, more situational awareness.
I'm curious how i should read the 'Company' thing, is this where I create different kinds of soldiers or is this a big group of friends you can call in during a battle? If it's the latter, you really need a very big and active BF gaming group, which could be a downfall and a feature that flops.
I also love the soldier customization, but I hope it doesn't become a circus or a halloween dressup. Soldiers wear uniforms it's just as simple as that. There is some room to wear something else, it's maybe ok to wear other stuff like headcovers, gloves, boots, face paint, maybe clothing camo patterns.
Maybe there is a better option, when you start off as a basic soldier in a standard uniform and the more you play the game, the more you can choose to be able to wear weathered clothes, boots, helmets, etc. to see you're a veteran or weathered player, which also includes mud/grit on your face. Next to that you also want to be able to recognize the enemy, where every split second counts.
Which brings me to gun, please only be able to spawn with weapon that belong to your faction/country. No spawn with MP40 as a British soldier, whatever you pick up on the battlefield is ok.

While I can't go outside of The Soviet Union in terms of women fighting and what I know and have read. The Soviet Union employed well over 2000 women. In a broad sense serving within the military the USSR employed 900,000 women in a number of roles. With something like 100,000 in air defense forces manning anti aircraft guns which at Stalingrad and other cities for example they certainly saw combat. Doctors, nurses, radio operators, and drivers while not considered "front line" roles. At the start of the war between Germany and the USSR the front line to a large degree had disappeared and nurses and doctors would find themselves on the "front line" and would and did fight and die in combat. As far as the propaganda and the 2,000 women you speak of some 1,061 women were employed as snipers and 74 women were employed as sniper instructors. How we as a whole know this isn't propaganda is that Germans reported fighting them and really not having a fun time of it. If it was just Soviet Propaganda the Germans wouldn't bother writing about it in diaries and other written works. I'll just wrap up by saying that this says nothing to partisan forces behind German lines which records really weren't kept of or militia units that did include women.

Here's a summation: Including 25% women in your squad reduced overall accuracy of the entire squad by 50%, reduced the entire squad's speed over rough terrain by 50% (because the men had to constantly stop to help the women). Fully rifle trained women were less accurate than completely untrained men.
Women were substandard in EVERY field of testing. They didn't just hamper themselves, they fundamentally reduced the lethality and effectiveness of the entire squad. Biology doesn't give a damn about your feelings. Go spout your propaganda on Tumblir.

Like, for instance, if somebody takes a gun, to, you know, like a school, and they start, you know, shooting up the place. Not very nice. Or like for the past few days, you know, this guy's been stockpiling weapons in his hotel room, and then on the last day of a three day long festival, he starts reigning down fire upon these people in a large crowd, killing dozens of them and scarring the others for life. It's just not proper gun etiquette and not a nice thing to do.

Appealing to emotion doesn't work, Preston. Because ultimately, the only emotions I really care about are those of myself, my family, and my friends. When I know people personally who have had their lives protected by their ability to use and own firearms, I really couldn't care less about your fearmongering and pity farming arguments.
We need harsher punishments for people who don't properly store their firearms and keep them away from unstable people and children. We need to examine the culture that we've been cultivating for the last 30 years. This anti-authority culture that glorifies brutal dictators like Mao Zedong, and promotes gang violence and an overall lack of respect for each other. We need to stop subscribing prescription drug after prescription drug, pumping our children with chemical after chemical for completely innocuous behavioral problems in lieu of adequate parenting. We need better protection at soft targets that deranged people might choose as places to commit violence because they know they're not likely to meet resistance.
I grew up going to a small town school where there was an armed police officer on site nearly every single day, checking in on classes, roaming the halls, etc. Nothing EVER happened there. The cop was the nicest dude on the planet, too. Everybody liked him. And that's how it should be in every school in America.
Taking away people's right to own an inanimate object just because some people misuse them is not the answer. It will never be the answer.

No, he was fine in this event. I even chuckled at a couple of his jokes. But when it comes to the political perspective of a video game, it's very telling imo when they get someone like Trevor to host their event. When I heard about it last week, I told me friends that EA was obviously looking to double-down on the SJW nonsense they've been pushing in their games for the last few years, and here we are...
