bf1 and historically accurate dont even go anywhere near each other. bf1 pretty much treated ww1 like it was ww2. ie, running around everywhere with machine guns.
the gameplay certainly was not realistic. it had very little relation with ww1. bf1 is as inaccurate to ww1 as battlefield V is to ww2. its just that most people are more familiar with ww2 so they notice the inaccuracies.

Hear me out The shot at 0:48 with the soldier riding the horse with gas mask running in your direction it's one of the scariest things I've ever seen, he literally looks like an Horseman of the Apocalypse of the early 20th century EDIT: even the sound effects give you chills, sounding like a mix between a crying animal and a siren to me. Plus, the fact that is riding inside the trench gives the sense of no eascape too

I literally pictured a dark, eerie vibe trailer from Battlefield V, but sadly, the trailer was so disappointing for me. I really wished it had the same vibe as the Apocalypse trailer.
This is DICE, masters at making good trailers with a lot of hype. What I think (and hope) they did with their Battlefield V Reveal Trailer, was to show as much as possible in terms mechanics, customization and ''gameplay vibe''. For me it seemed more like a showcase than a trailer. In terms of the gameplay vibe, it seems like DICE are trying to restore the Bad Company 2 type of feeling, or is it just me? But yeah I agree with you if only they made it dark and eerie, and maybe held it a bit more anonymous and curious, I would've been completely hooked
Stormviation I think the reason this was so gritty is because its set near the end of the war. No one was giving any mercy by that point. BF5 looks more colourful because to be honest, WW2 was in areas of lush green areas and not in muddy, gritty conditions. Nothing against the horror of ww2 but there's a reason why ww1 is pictured with so much grey and dark colours and ww2 is pictured with sunny landscapes...that's until 43 that is.

You ever just go from really realistic looking gameplay and trailers of WW1 to a bright world of WW2 where everyone is a little bunny rabbit running around with two peg legs on D-Day.
I really enjoyed this trailer because it's the exact opposite of the revival trailer that trailer makes you feel hyped and excited like you're a new recruit ready to be sent off to the front lines but the apocalypse trailer makes you feel dreadful and broken like the war is the only thing you know.
3 years after it's release I still think this is the best battlefield trailer yet. And like 90% of that is the split second with the horse running through the trench in a gas mask.
Just reinstalled BF 1. Went into a match listen to the calls and hearing GAAAAAAAAAS and remember how beautiful Battlefields history is. Remember the good old days Battlefield aka Fortnite 2042 is the end we never wanted.
I started reading All Quiet On The Western Front because i heard that the voice over in this trailer is from it, now i finally reached the part where the author says it and i returned here and watched the trailer again. It has a much darker and deeper sense now. Absolutely amazing.
I was really hoping someone would recognize it. It's a great quote, though it's not quoted correctly (to fit the battlefield style). It really fits and it makes the trailer even more amazing than it already was.

Mabye the actual dlc was rushed...but damn battlefield can always make a good trailer. I am also adding on that I personally like the Howell rifle (I like the bipod on a regular iron sighted weapon) and the 1916 Enfield (this rifle I feel like is the M1903 infantry we have been missing) the new LMG the added is okay I guess(I got alot of kills with it in one match so I guess its ok) but something I feel like battlefield should of done something with is the assault weapon.I feel like that weapon should of been a new tanker weapon(MOSTLY BECAUSE THE FACT THE ITS DESCRIPTION IT SAYS ITS A TANKER WEAPON)and I feel as if they should of added in another weapon. Compared to the last dlc. This is going to be a bugfest and nothing is going to be fixed in months in order to prepare the new Battlefield release. Battlefield franchise is turning in Assassins Creed and EA said that they will include micro-transactions and lootboxes in every title from now on. I am fine if they are cosmetic only but I doubt that since look at what happened to Star Wars Battlefront 2.

A HELL of a trailer - and for a DLC. Couple things really reached my feelings: 1) those 3 soldiers in the trench under a shelling made me think about my great grandfather, who fought for Portugal in the La Lys sector, suffering and surviving the brutal German shelling that preceeded the Battle of La Lys of March 9th 1918 (only him and an English sergeant survived until the first German soldiers reached their line, killing the poor sergeant and almost killing my great grandfather, who was only saved by his helmet deflecting the trench shovel that descended on his head to kill him too); 2) The Battle of Caporetto, present day Kobarid in Slovenia, which museum I visited in 2007, admiring in a rafting descending of the local river the roads carved up the mountains by soldiers of WW1.

This... This is how I expected the Battlefield V trailer to be like...
I literally pictured a dark, eerie vibe trailer from Battlefield V, but sadly, the trailer was so disappointing for me. I really wished it had the same vibe as the Apocalypse trailer.
This is DICE, masters at making good trailers with a lot of hype. What I think (and hope) they did with their Battlefield V Reveal Trailer, was to show as much as possible in terms mechanics, customization and ''gameplay vibe''. For me it seemed more like a showcase than a trailer. In terms of the gameplay vibe, it seems like DICE are trying to restore the Bad Company 2 type of feeling, or is it just me? But yeah I agree with you if only they made it dark and eerie, and maybe held it a bit more anonymous and curious, I would've been completely hooked
Stormviation I think the reason this was so gritty is because its set near the end of the war. No one was giving any mercy by that point. BF5 looks more colourful because to be honest, WW2 was in areas of lush green areas and not in muddy, gritty conditions. Nothing against the horror of ww2 but there's a reason why ww1 is pictured with so much grey and dark colours and ww2 is pictured with sunny landscapes...that's until 43 that is.

I really enjoyed this trailer because it's the exact opposite of the revival trailer that trailer makes you feel hyped and excited like you're a new recruit ready to be sent off to the front lines but the apocalypse trailer makes you feel dreadful and broken like the war is the only thing you know.
3 years after it's release I still think this is the best battlefield trailer yet. And like 90% of that is the split second with the horse running through the trench in a gas mask.

I am also adding on that I personally like the Howell rifle (I like the bipod on a regular iron sighted weapon) and the 1916 Enfield (this rifle I feel like is the M1903 infantry we have been missing) the new LMG the added is okay I guess(I got alot of kills with it in one match so I guess its ok) but something I feel like battlefield should of done something with is the assault weapon.I feel like that weapon should of been a new tanker weapon(MOSTLY BECAUSE THE FACT THE ITS DESCRIPTION IT SAYS ITS A TANKER WEAPON)and I feel as if they should of added in another weapon. Compared to the last dlc. This is going to be a bugfest and nothing is going to be fixed in months in order to prepare the new Battlefield release. Battlefield franchise is turning in Assassins Creed and EA said that they will include micro-transactions and lootboxes in every title from now on. I am fine if they are cosmetic only but I doubt that since look at what happened to Star Wars Battlefront 2.

A HELL of a trailer - and for a DLC.
Couple things really reached my feelings:
1) those 3 soldiers in the trench under a shelling made me think about my great grandfather, who fought for Portugal in the La Lys sector, suffering and surviving the brutal German shelling that preceeded the Battle of La Lys of March 9th 1918 (only him and an English sergeant survived until the first German soldiers reached their line, killing the poor sergeant and almost killing my great grandfather, who was only saved by his helmet deflecting the trench shovel that descended on his head to kill him too);
2) The Battle of Caporetto, present day Kobarid in Slovenia, which museum I visited in 2007, admiring in a rafting descending of the local river the roads carved up the mountains by soldiers of WW1.
The last time Battlefield would release something truly great.
