@@totalbodyfitness6103 Watch the video again. Look at the close up action shots that follow the action. Unless they set up like 300 cameras that somehow don't get other cameras in the frame or get trampled, just hoping somebody shows up, it's probably a manned drone.
The fact that their hides can withstand a bite like that is simply incredible.

There are many animals that can do that, most are in the ocean but there are a lot of land animals that would beat a polar bear in a fight, obvious being an elephant but a hippo and elephant seal would too

Kappa - quite a few years ago now, I sailed up to Svalbard, where these Walruses were filmed I think. I was on the helm, when a few yards to port this huge brown thing just broke the surface. I was not expecting a walrus, but if it was a whale, where was the top fin. It submerged, then its head popped up with these huge tusks. and whiskers.
It is hard to describe how impressive it is to see this massive beast in the wild. Will always remember it.

These animals are exposed to being hunted and death since birth, this is the norm for them, hence why they all know what to do as a single unit.
PTSD is primarily a domesticated animal issue, like humans, dogs, cats, other pets.
Were weak minded. If we were being hunted and accepted this as life since birth than the sight of death and potentially being killed sucks, but wont be nearly as traumatic.
@@sacr3 I would say neither are we weaker nor are they used to PTSD. We are just realizing that life ruled by nature is ruthless and that PTSD is a name given to a "normal condition" by nature's rules, but considered an illness for a civilized society. A "chronic alert condition" (very shallow definition of PTSD) is something needed to survive out there.
Ergo, civilization is a good peacemaking instrument and reduces the amount of violence in a society, nothing new.
I used to think walruses were just these big, blubbery, slow and slovenly creatures and that is true, but apparently they can hold their own when getting attacked by a hungry and vicious polar bear.

They are very well aware of their monstrous power, but they just dont care. At the end of the day, escaping uses much less calories and it protects the offspring far better.
But some of the walruses look the bear in the eye and had a fighting stance.if the bear tried to fight 1 head on I think they will definitely try to defend themselves.
How it feels when you have food around but you can't eat
It's pretty startling when you realize how big polar bears are, and then learn that walruses are even bigger. The bear knows his chances against a walrus are slim. Their blubber makes them basically invincible and their tusks can be lethal with just one stab. The only reason the bear is even considering fighting a walrus is because it's starving.
That bear is stuck in the friend zone.. No penetration here!

This reminds me of Walrus Island off the coast of Nunavik (Northern Quebec). Having visited this remote area by ship, I remember a few polar bears trying to catch a meal out of this large number of walruses...just as in this video!
