    Ancient History (3600 B.C.-500 A.D.)
    The Middle Ages (500-1500 A.D.)
    Modern Age (1500-present)
    --------------------------------------
The history of our story began long ago,
At one point in time, around three billion years ago, we were floating around as little, tiny atoms in the little Petri dish of the world.
Around 6 million years ago, and we see the emergence of the first hominoids - the family of primates that includes humans.
1.9 Million years ago, Homo Erectus was the first species to leave Africa and colonize other parts of the world. They had larger brains than their primate ancestors.
Around 400,000 years ago, the first evidence of the Neanderthals. Their bodies were adapted to the cold environments of Europe and Western Asia. Their distinctive facial features were some of the most human-like ever seen. They are famous for their massive body weight and big facial hair. These prehistoric ancestors were made for the cold.
Then came us; 300,000 years ago, the first Homo Sapiens roamed the earth. The Only surviving species of the Homo Genus. But how did Homo Sapiens rise into a global dominance through the mechanism of civilization?

Hey Man, I’m a 19 year old who just found his love for history. It truly is unexplainable how far we’ve managed to prosper. I wanted to say thank you for making a video for people who still wanna learn. School made history sound so boring. Until one teacher made it into a story for me. Really changed the way I looked at the past

Cheers to you young folks, really. Enjoyed reading each comment. You few promising indidovudials have given me a glimmer of hope. 🙏
As a 46 year old Gen-Xer, I would give one piece of humble advice...continue to search historical facts and significance on your own. School made history horrible for me as well. Nothing was more tortuous and boring from middle school - to high school - to college undergraduate than history teachers, and history classes. However, nothing could be further from the truth about how essential and interesting history is once you are taught a bit of it in the right way at the right time. Once it resonates on a personal level...you can't help but wonder how your existence fits into this giant and evolving puzzle.
Around age 25-30 I started to realize that they just never taught us anything that matters in the world - really matters. Wars, strife, hatred and allies among ans between different cultures, people and regions...there's reasons that offer some, clarity for ALL OF IT. Like WW1, WW2, The Vietnam War, history dating back to the start of complexities within middle east conflicts, geography, generational discord, etc. I have learned to respect former generations to the utmost levels. Particularly - as a benefiting US citizen born of Asian and Hispanic decent who's grandfather on my Asian(mom's side of family) in the US ARMY and stormed Normandy in WW2.
Throughout the topic of history courses I've experienced in school of any level - that related to my day to day life, or that was the least bit interesting, tbh.
Learn all you can - but never without the nuance and significance of foundations of these events. One thing I have learned to be is more tolerant - but that only happens from awareness of REAL HISTORY TRUTH of MAN'S greatest and worst of behavioral deeds throughout the history of our existence.
Leave the WOKE, self-serving, victimhood views to starve and die. It all stems from entitlement born through modern day safety and comfort which previous generations have paid for with their lives.

The furthest I could imagine back is about 10,000 years or so, but this far back is totally incomprehensible to me. The fact that people not only survived but thrived to spread and progress throughout the entire world is really so deep it makes me really want to see the earth back then, true blue skies and seas and rivers totally full of fish, wild animals everywhere with the most dense old forests, had to have been so beautiful.

Sorry to wake y’all up - but this is a Great Presentation about what is exactly whats happening today.
Captivity has never STOPPED, since the beginning of Rulers.
In fact we’re still experiencing dictators in this world, trying to control all populations with abuses & decisions between Fears & Death …
“This World is a Huge Stage, created by beings with superior Reptilian Blood lines before Lemuri & Atlantis disappeared.
We are now all “but bit Players upon a huge stage” was revealed by Wm Shakespeare, who observed everything as his Mission.
All Major wars, always ends in many deaths - before a leader realizes that he could no longer control them by using fear.
These lessons, Donot apply to any successor.
We are about to experience the Fire predicted for this time - by the symbol of global warming & a nuclear war which has already been planned
All Leaders hate each other - but when they need each other, their power is being loss with too many deaths of their own - as shown in History.
Candidates are taught to complete in sports in order to be chosen, as a Leader by the coach.
Unfortunately, nobody recognizes the only rule that counts “Thou shall not Kill” which applies to everybody which is not understood by a EGO Leader.
People are abused after birth because that establishes how groups are trained as kids with words, to be jealous.
And Jealousy promotes Haters - even amongst brothers.

I have mixed feelings about this video. On the one hand, it's very well made in terms of graphics, animations, and voice over. One the other hand, it doesn't do an accurate job presenting a coherent story of ancient civilizations. It randomly includes events or civilizations that were not very influential or significant. It feels that some of them are like "TOKEN" civilizations to make everyone from different regions feel included and important.

I fail to see how including more information is a flaw. I think including random events of civilizations is better than nothing at all. I'd rather have a broader suite of information rather than cutting it out for essentially no gain but a more precise narrative. Really, your criticism boils down to "it should have been longer and include more information about these civilizations" which is maybe true but not very realistic considering the scale of this project.
I think the more fascinating critique of this video would be the use of ai. It's pretty clear that the visuals were ai generated, and I fairly sure at least portions of the script were generated with ChatGTP. It's not really an issue for me, but there's definitely a moral question as to whether essentially generating this video is ethical or not. Eitherway I really enjoyed it, and learnt a lot!

Little differences in language to paint a different picture to reality. Also the 1 hr long narration on Rome compared to a few minutes of Muslim conquests. This video is a hard watch

Interesting watch!! well formatted, must have taken many an hour indeed. interesting start point but understandable as the fist traces of modern "Human Civilization". Would be cool to have a perpetual timeline display at the bottom as a visual aid (like a boat sailing on the water left to right on the timeline). And must say, no mention of the exploration of the South Pacific or discovery of Antarctica etc.. a few gaps here and there that would help round it out, but very nice!

There are just many areas of history in this video that are still not being covered, like the history of Africa, Asia, Australia and the Pacific. But I guess the main reason is we do not have the proper record for those areas of civilisation, or it might have been cherry picked.

The universe doesn't have a middle, just like an inflated balloon does not have a middle on its two dimensional surface.
It's a four-dimensional space-time that originated from the Big Bang & has been expanding outward for the last 13.8 billion years. The Earth is an ordinary planet in an ordinary solar system around an ordinary star located at an ordinary place in the disc of the ordinary galaxy we call the Milky Way, in an ordinary galaxy cluster, among billions of other galaxy clusters lying like dots on the lines of a four-dimensional space-time spider web, more or less.

I appreciate your work. really I can see a lot of effort you put into this. its very difficult to make a video like that especially when you move on to later ages of history when everything becomes more interconnected than before. your jumping between cultures is of course necessary in a video like that but there were times when it felt erratic when you mentioned a country out of nowhere suddenly pop up. I't important to at least summarize how it came to be. For example you forgot to mention how Spain came to be. Last time you mentioned it it was under control of Arabs and the next time you mention it is with Cortez, but you don't same how Spain became a Christian monarchic country. Similar with Poland-Lithuania. Although their influence on Western Europe was perhaps negligible, it was a very important factor in the East. it was one the main rivals of Russia, Sweden and the Ottoman Empire. Same with Austria-Hungary it just pops out of nowhere. You don't mention that China was conquered by Kublai Khan so the revolt by future Ming emperor makes no sense. Japan doesn't exist in here. Nor does Russia's growth into a super power or United States's for that matter. At the end of World War I you say that Ottoman Empire fell without even underlining the issues it had, so it causes confusion. You skipped the 20 years between world wars, which were important because the balance of power shifted from The Old World to the U.S. World War Two is skipped entirely and when you mention atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki I as the viewer am left with "Wait what?" No mention of Italy under Mussolini or Japan, it's war with China and the allies. The Cold War and the intricate gradual process of rebuilding. The last 200 years feel rushed. Now I want to make it clear to you and all the people in the comment section I DON'T BALME YOU. My comment is not meant to criticize your incredible work. I'm only trying to shed light on things that stuck out most to me. Let me say it once more, you've done incredible work and I praise you for it. Be well.

I really liked this, but it does seem very European focused and with a few historical mistakes here and there. No mention of the Atlantic slave trade which basically supported Western European economy for like 300 years. Pyramids weren’t built to keep mummies, Pharaos were put to rest in the Valley of the Kings, which is much different. Also, Henry VII didn’t marry Anne Boleyn and separate the Church of England from the Catholic Church, that was his son, Henry VIII. Henry VII was very much Catholic and a family man.

Agreed about the Eurocentrism. Feels like they spent 70% of the time on Greece, Rome, and the West. Minutes spent on the details of a single Roman battle but zero mention of the entire continent of Africa outside of Egypt and Mansa Musa--not even Nubia. Emphasizes Greek and Roman inventions "we still use today," but doesn't bother with essential Chinese inventions like gunpowder or paper. Over a minute on Martin Luther but not one sentence in 2+ hours for a single place in Oceania. Listening to this, you'd think only Europe and China ever made any art. All the fine details are in those two spots. We have maps of the general locations of Native American tribes in North America prior to the arrival of settlers, details about their ways of life, governments, etc.--not worth as much time as King Henry's wives apparently. Even the Islamic Golden Age is barely touched, versus entire quotes from Western artists.
It's pretty gross to maintain this old bias in 2023.Apart from being insular, it's just plain a patchy job. Hard to think it's entirely innocent either, considering the VERY quick rush on from Columbus, the unfounded claim that Mary and Joseph traveled for the Roman census (that didn't exist like that), omission of the slave trade you mentioned, and so on. Tell me you never got curious about Nigeria, Korea, Indonesia, etc., without telling me...

Much of the older era isnt documented as most of human history isnt. This is a general educational video not a comprehensive college course, i think viewing this video and thinking its maliciously avoiding certain points of history with the amount of work that went into it clearly seems silly.@@hounoki

    • @hounoki
      @hounoki 5 개월 전 +1

@@gtrdxzI don't think the lack of historical records for certain areas in older eras explains it at all. We have extensive records of Columbus's horrific acts from Las Casas and others, for just one example; and the thoroughly documented transatlantic slave trade is objectively incredibly important from a perspective of economics and relations between the European nations, even if you forgot Africa itself. You really can't omit it by accident.
I wouldn't use the word "malicious," myself; I think it's an intentional omission, but that could be because the creator wants to avoid controversy or touchy subjects. I don't know why such things were omitted, but certainly you can't know this much about western history and accidentally omit something that stood at the very heart of it for a couple hundred years.

I think the universe is a symmetrical, b/c it’s simply the best way to create. (Think golden ratio too). I’m a biologist, so I might be biased. Looking out into space, it mirrors the human body, and IMO is definitely sentient. Conversely, there’s an entire universe within your body.

This was so fascinating to watch. Well done on the work and your efforts. Of course this is just aspects of history - most of my continent was not featured which I understand.
The ending sentence wow: "Empires will always rise and fall, and the masses will always clamer towards safety..." I found that quite poignant and interesting considering the fact that for the first time in history, we are breaking the cycle of desiring to feel safe (collectively, most are rising out of living their life in survival mode), but rather desiring freedom and personal sovereignity - we expect safety as a basic human right now and are prepared to guard it on our own. This information age also means, we are less susceptible to propaganda and lies, thus harder to be controlled and blindly led.
Then on empires rising and falling, hmm I loved thinking about this. I am curious how this will play out in our lifetimes when yes, although national pride and cultural identity is still strong, imposing dominance on another is frowned upon. I think people would rather opt out from ideologies that do not represent them, rather than force their views on another. hmmm just curious how the world we are creating will look like 300 years from now. The human collective consciousness has really risen - that is very evident from this documentary. Somehow, I feel excited about the future. 💜

There are several errors which simply don't make sense for a human creator.

Plato’s quote (28:40) was correct on so many levels. He knows all these rulers think they are divine and all-knowing and that humanity is doomed due to humanities proclivity for corruption. He was basically saying “when hell freezes over”
Pluto along with other philosophers of the time were very careful with their words. It’s refreshing to read their works in a time where so msny just listen and do with little to no critical thinking.

Amazing video all throughout. Also, the fact that we dont get to american slavery until the last 5 minutes of the video really puts it into perspective and shows that slavery wasnt as long ago as people think it was

well put together but I'm not so sure at 29:23 Siddhartha Gautama did lived much of his life in the kingdom of Magadhahe but around the time Magadha was a flourishing kingdom under its king Bimbisarawas. Siddhartha Gautama was born in the famous gardens of Lumbini which is located in modern-day Nepal and he belonged to Shakya republic, Kosala kingdom (now in Nepal). Died, Kusinara, Malla republic, Magadha kingdom (now Kasia, India). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also Lao Tzu didn't write the Tao Te Ching until around 500 B.C. , not prior to 800 B.C. as described in the video.

Wonderful video. This video gave me so many intriguing thoughts, the way we study animal behaviours I tried to study human behaviour from the video, how we still pursue a race for the top, how humans civilised in different groups and regions in their own standard but a case of hierarchy seems to exist in every civilisation, the same old practice like political assassinations, Lust for power , control and wealth etc still prevalent today. Is it an intrinsic human value that we cannot seem to overcome or are we too weak?. Western Greek influence about polity, economy, social and etiquette’s spread far and wide which turned almost the entire world today look towards it as the new normal. Meanwhile, countries like china, North Korea etc seems to have stuck to their grounds to stick within their own belief system. Some leaders, so proud of history, they cannot seem to accept or entertain even a little bit of liberalism because it is a western culture.

This is incredible. Would like to offer one suggestion. It would be cool to point out things that are theories rather than facts. Like the tombs main purpose being burial chambers. This is highly debated to this day

Small correction: there is a slide where you are talking about an early mesoamerican culture and you show the Aztec sun stone (Aztec calendar) but the Aztecs were not until way later (1300-1500) which you talk about in the video later. Maybe move the sun stone to the Aztec section so it is more accurate. Great video!

An extremely important thing about the Persian empire has been left out for some suspicious reason. The Persian Empire, unlike the Greeks and Spartans, was a very tolerant empire where women held positions of power, and conquered people were allowed to keep their traditions and religious practices. Imagine if the Persians had won. How terrible it would have been to have social equality and tolerance 😂
