Shows like Baldwin Hills as a young pre-teen coming into being a teenager was so important to me. Especially when I moved to a mostly white neighborhood. I was surrounded by people that didn't look like me and then when I turned on the TV all the big shows had people that didn't look like me. People can say what they want about BET, but 106 and park, Baldwin Hills, and the college hill was the alternative we needed to shows like TRL, The real orange county, and the real world.
we just moved to california the first week of january 07’ cali was poppin at this time. we lived in northern cal (elk grove, SAC) i was only 8 when the 1st season came out & i loved it. gerren was my favorite frl rip to beautiful person all around 💕😭
