I remember when this album came out. I was at the Waffle House near my school and was eating with my friends. I just randomly when on iTunes because i was bored and all I saw was this black and pink banner that read BEYONCE. And then more banners popped up and i was like "oh Beyonce released a new single." Then I saw more and was like "no wait. Its an album?!" I panicked for a moment. I saw the Drake and Frank features, the videos and was compelled to rush to my dorm and watch it. Everybody was going crazy over it. I'll never forget that. I hope to do the same with my art one day.

When this dropped the world was shook. Nobody could believe she had done an entire album and visuals yet not one thing leaked! Not one person that worked with her spoke about it. This shows how highly respected she is.
Beyonce is a legend for this. New album with 14 songs and every song has a music video?! INSANE.
BEYONCÉ was the most genius move she has ever done. Brilliant piece of art. People may not have recognized this enough but it sure made an impact to those who did. Admit it or not, no one in the industry today is capable of what she's doing. When she brought Lemonade out, for me, it didn't outdo this album, but it continued to show her capabilities.
i agree too. the magnitude and quality of the self titled visual album still exceeds lemonade. people seem to remember the lemonade era more cause of the scandal and subliminal messages (dont get me wrong) lemonade is a great acclaimed work but BEYONCE is a masterpiece that cant be touched especially when she performed the album tracks at the VMAs 2014. most memorable performance for me 👍🏾

I feel humble at this point, I remember i came back to the hotel, in a kinda weird day. I mean I don't know why I'm writing this, but anyway, i was kinda sad and shocked at the same time. And i open you know Facebook and saw "BEYONCÉ" in pink and i didn't feel to anxious about it, i kept scrolling and I literally didn't understand what was going on, so i open Twitter and realize what she did. I ran to the store it was around of 12 pm, and bought a damn iTunes Card and bought it, damn, it was crazy. Made my day, all these colors, songs everything about this album was awesome, songs, ideas, hair cuts. I went to Mrs. Carter Word Tour and literally saw the same hair cut in "Blue". Thank you Beyoncé, you're such an inspiration for me.

I remember the day this album came out. I found out a couple of hours after it’s release while I was at work, raced home grabbed my laptop and bought it straight away. I was by myself, sat right on the couch and just listened and watched. Can still remember wearing my red converse shoes while listening (don’t know why that sticks out) but I guess that just shows how much listening to this album the first time was for me... an experience I’ll never forget.
Nobody understands how much I love Beyonce. She is my Idol and I adore her soo much. And I love every last one of her albums but this album would have to be my favorite. I love all the songs and all the videos. She's work so hard to be where she is. She is the Queen Bey👑❤

I love the fact that she had this vision that totally goes against everything that's currently being done in pop music but she actually implemented it and fuckin SLAYED everyone! Like not only did it sell more in 3 days that almost any album this year did in a week, but she changed the whole game. But you can't compare Adele and Bey they do different things entirely. 25 may have been hyped because of Hello, but you've got to remember that her last album won her all 6 Grammys that she was nominated for, because her album ALSO changed the game for being something that the industry has lacked for a long time, good vocalists. Not to say that Bey isn't equally as talented, but there's been a long period of auto-tuned teen pop shit. Bey is all round, she's got the visuals and the vocal talent, and Adele has her own thing, standing in front of the mic and singing. I love this idea of a visual album. I love it when artists do videos and if I like the artist I want every song in video. THIS does that. Videos help to GET an artist & feel connected. I love her ideas; bringing back the music as immersive, entire album drops and visuals.

funny how this was almost a decade ago and what she said was so relevant and true yet nothing has changed today in fact the music industry and people's consumption for it got worse as tiktok came in and the gap between the artists and fans grew even bigger

It'll be interesting to see how the other artist in the music industry respond in 2014. I don't want to make it a competition, but this won't be forgotten. Their albums will exist in the Post-Beyonce Visual Album era. They're gonna need to step it up.
I wouldn't even be mad if other artists put out a visual album with a video for each song. Listening to a song for the first time while watching the video for the first time at the same time was a new, interesting, and amazing experience. I wanna do that with all my music now.
