Fun fact to add, that steel guitar sound you hear in country music was invented by hawaiians ♥️ They played with steel on their laps when cowboys were brought to hawaii (they called them Paniolos) guitars were brought as well. Hawaiian music became very popular across the US in the ‘30s and western country musicians adopted that classic sound. If you listen to Hawaiian music there’s a very blurred line of what we know as country and their music.

I think you have it backwards. Miley is always able to make herself fit with whoever she is performing with. Watch her with Dolly, or her sister… Miley’s voice is literally like an electric guitar that she can turn the gain up and down on. Miley’s voice is literally like an electric guitar that she can turn the gain up and down on. Beyoncé has a big open voice but Miley can sing over or under her, wherever she wants, whenever she wants.
Beyoncé is almost keeping up with Miley…. She just doesn’t have the country twang in the treble that cuts through. Like Willie Nelson… can sing quietly but every word cuts through the music. That’s a country voice. Beyoncé is still pop/ r and b no matter what hat she puts on.

We used to smoke down Houston 45N, with my hand waving out the window. I was always his shotgun rider. He never let me drive because he wanted me to be comfortable, enjoying my high. I love & miss him dearly. He passed away on Good Friday, which is today, the day Bey released this song. Some things are coincidental.
