Uh!! Seriously🖤🖤
Learning about South Asian colorism legit
shocked me even as a Black woman having seen the absolutely astounding beauty of y'all specific range of dark skin tones. It's just so warm and velvety in every shade! Then seeing them in brighter colors and jewel tones and mountains of gold! It broke my heart that a little girl gifted with a blessing like that could hear the same hurtful things I did as a little girl about my own skin. To feel disregarded and disrespected. Every litte Brown Skin Girl should be guilded and treasured to the ends of the earth.

No... there's an Indian woman in this video. The title is "Brown Skin Girls" for a reason. There are brown skinned girls everywhere, and this is for all of us.@@HopeDowling
@@HopeDowlinggo ahead and take it down. Why are you being so hateful? The song is about loving your brown skin. The video features ladies with brown skin from everywhere, including south asia. Why cant you allow people to feel good about themselves? How does it affect you if someone with brown skin feels good because of this song? You are taking time out of your day to make someone feel bad. Maybe instead try lifiting someone up🩷

i am an Indian, and in India if you are a dark skinned women, you are looked down upon and considered ugly. I had always hated my complexion because i was told to by everyone. It was only in the western media that i saw women of my skin colour being called beautiful. Watching and listening to dark skinned girls being confident in their brown skin and embracing their melanin has made me love mine too.
Edit: As an Indian, I am ashamed of the recent controversial song, "Beyonce Sharma Jayegi" (Translation: Beyonce will be ashamed *after seeing a fair skinned girl*) because it just shows how racist and colourist INDIAn Media is. but i am so very proud of the indians speaking against it. I had to come back here, because the moment i heard about the title of that colorist song, i was reminded of this song.
That can’t be easy. Dark skin is gorgeous. Unfortunately the world is late on this truth. We gotta instil the self love into our children that we didn’t get. That’s the only way 🥰 Best wishes to you.

Songs like this help me to appreciate myself more. As a black girl who grew up in Los Angeles, I often felt insecure about my skin tone. I wished I had lighter skin, lighter hair, straight hair, a thinner figure, or light colored eyes, like all the pretty girls around me. Then I came to Atlanta for college and got the opposite reaction. Several people here have point blank asked me, "What are you? You must be half white, or mixed, right?." No matter what I responded, it didn't seem to change their opinion of me. I was either too light, too dark, or not African enough for their taste. Moral of the story is, it doesn't matter what color your skin is, it matters what you think of yourself and trying to let that inner beauty shine. Easier said than done, but if you are reading this comment, just know that you are beautiful for who you are, no matter what others think of you. Feel free to comment on your experiences too.
As a black man this isn’t for me. However, I’m surrounded by beautiful strong black women and I see the pain yet they endure everything. They deserve this. Glad they’re hearing this. All I can do is be the soldier to help fight your everlasting but unfortunate battles. This goes out to ALL brown skinned women. ❤

They would call me Chocolate Milk. My mother would tell me to call the children chasing me vanilla. I would have loved to have an anthem like this one. Our young black girls needed one so badly, so that they could understand that they are beautiful. Thank You Beyonce!

I think the part with Beyonce and Kelly at the end as they stare into each other's eyes with the lyrics "'I'd never trade you for anybody else" happening at the same time is the most touching part of this video, just for the sake of their personal relationship. Beyonce considers Kelly every bit her true sister as much as Solange. The two of them have been through so much together from childhood, success/fame, navigating the entertainment industry, motherhood, and so much more. Kelly is one of Bey's ride or dies and Bey will never forget that. Also, the song and video may also be Bey's way of addressing colorism and the longtime narrative that Kelly's darker complexion held her solo career back while Bey's lighter complexion helped to fuel hers. This was Bey's public way of telling Kelly she's enough and she's beautiful the way she is.
Loved that that too is my favorite part❤️❤️
Agreed! I think the narrative was so much this was a song for Blue, but this was her love letter to Kelly. 🥹

This song is a gifft, a legacy Beyonce shares to the world. A celebration and testament to every non-white girl of their beauty. This is an amazing inheritance she will leave to her children, her grand children, and future generations to come. The sound deviates from a strong celebration of strong black women which Beyonce always does. It has shifted into a softer, acknowledging way that still has a strong mesasge of empowerment. I tear up a bit every time I hear the song

She made me feel so special and loved. I was different…. I am different but .. I am worthy.

back in time.... I hugged that little girl.

Are you saved?
This is the Gospel of your salvation.
This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures
We are in the last days according to the Bible. Do you know if you're going to Heaven? Are you a sinner? Repent, trust Jesus and God will give you everlasting life.
John 3:16 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
Same. This is a love letter to that little black girl. You are beautiful.
I remember my light skin cousin telling me when we were 6 that I was bald headed and ugly because I was dark skin... and I remember breaking down crying. I’m almost 30 years old and that shit still makes me cry. Thank you Beyoncé for making a song that makes me feel unbelievably beautiful. :)

OKAY BEYONCE! Why she gotta be out here making people cry!? Song has barely started and I'm already tearing up just from the imagery. This was gorgeous to look at and listen to. Let me play it again...
Still a vibe in 2023.
Africa watching. Loud and clear in Nairobi, Kenya.
Yall I cried and the song not even sad. Its giving praise to colored skin girls. ✨✨✨
For real it was Blue Ivy at the end for me 😭
I thought I was the only one🤎
It was Beyoncé smiling at all the girls uhh I broke out into tears
Me too it was beautiful ❤️
Baby yessss I cry every time 🙌🏿🙌🏿🐝🐝
As a brown skin Muslim woman, I am so proud of my color and wouldn't want any other color for my skin. Thank you, Queen B, for this.
Edit: Woow, I’ve never had this many likes 🥺 thank you, you beautiful people ✨♥️
Growing up, it was not easy, specially around the time of the 9/11. And it made me feel bad for being the way that I am. Glad to say, those days are gone!
I had many insecurities with my skin color growing up, and watching this video actually made me start sobbing seeing how beautiful all of these women looked, and that there’s no reason to ever be ashamed of my skin color. I had been on this journey long before this song, but this really hit home. I hope you never ever feel ashamed, Beyoncé made so many great points about our skin color in this video.
@Fabulous Fiona it is about brown black women, but I was emphasizing the inclusion of Indian women, which I can relate to. Even though I’m not from India, my culture has a lot of Indian influences. I’m an European Muslim, but my ancestors come from India and Mozambique.
@Fabulous Fiona Happy New Year! 🥳✨
Amen to that sister
The song I introduced to my 1st pretty dark brown skin daughter, I pray she sees the beauty I see ❤
Wizkid, Beyonce and the whole of this song ❤ love forever
You were born with your skin tone for a reason. Don’t ever change it
Thank you🙏🏾
WOW!! Sending you virtual hugs
We must learn to always and without fail see ourselves the way GOD sees us. We were all fearlessly and beautifully and wonderfully and majestically created by a Source of unfathomable love and forgiveness. I will never bow down to worship man and his foolish opinions of what he may "see" and attempt to purport. He is not the Creator!

Brownskin girls around the world let's make this 1Billion song. ❤
I love the way that they also represented a dark-skinned indian.
Swears... I was shocked, they also have that hate towards dark skinned Indians over there.
Sad reality that Caucasoid features are being the beauty standards in India , but I feel represented 🙏

The way Beyonce doesn't care about charts anymore and only cares about giving us amazing music even on a Monday >>>>>
Well she just had a #1 with Megan, so not completely abandoning the charts😅.

Lol if she didn't care she wouldn't have hopped on a remix to get a hit
Right??? She gonna do for us and center us, and Netflix & Disney gonna run her her coins regardless. And I am 100% here for it!
Yabsira 13 You mean she helped Megan Thee Stallion get a hit. Beyonce doesn’t need a hit. She’s been there and done that.
Its the black hijabi she included that is fascinating. Nobody talked about it. I love it. Its really a masterpiece. No stone was left un turn
The way this song grabs my spirit, and breaks me down in such a loving and genuine way 🥰🤎

An artist’s best work comes when they no longer make music just to strive to be a number 1.
why didint she keep her hair naturally black? would have been more impactful

I absolutely adore this song. My younger sister, who's 35 now, is darker skinned than I am. She was teased ruthlessly when she was young because of her skin. She didn't tell me this until we were adults. If I had of known then, I would've beat some folks down cuz I don't play bout my lil sister. When I heard this song it immediately made me think of her. She is so beautiful and her brown skin makes her even more so. I've always told her she was gorgeous and that I wish she could see herself through my eyes.
Your a good sister. 🥹
* you’re 🤓
My sister has white skin… she said my parents found me in a trash can in the forest.
When we were little. We’re adults now… and have zero relationship. Sad. So good on you. You helped feed her confidence I’m sure!

This is why I don’t just throw the word “artist” around.
I’d rather use singer/rapper for most people.
You can be a singer or a rapper, but you may not be an artist.
Beyoncé is more than a singer and a performer.
She’s an ARTIST!! Her works are art!
