This is beautiful. My 3 month old daughter passed away last month. When she was alive, we listened to Ed Sheeran all the time. She loved ‘Sandman’. I played ‘Sandman’ at her funeral as well. Now I have all the feels listening to this. She was the birdsong in the morning that I will miss. 🤍

This may be the best song on the album. Crazy it was a B side - the depth of his songwriting is unbelievable!!
I can imagine this song playing in a film at the end of a movie after the main character isn't with her love anymore but it was a good separation, and she's thinking about their memories while packing up her room

Ed Sheeran has been my favourite artist ever since I heard 'the A team' back in 2012 . Right now, ten years later he keeps on amazing me. Stellar artist 🔥❤️
I was 5 when Plus came out in April 2011. I bought the album cd from the service station and my mum put it in the car radio. Without warning, it jumps all the way to Small Bump and both my mum and i cried throughout the whole song. This is important for 5 reasons. 1, that is my earliest memory, i am now 17 and suffer from longterm memory loss. 2, it was apparently the first time i heard Ed. 3, i wrote my first song that night on a scrap piece of paper, and i now have so many songs because of Ed. 4, I still have the cd, and it is the only album i have ever bought for that reason. 5, the story behind Small Bump is the same as one in my family before i was born, and I Will Remember You touches for the fact that the song I wrote that night was recorded 8 years later, with my girlfriend who committed suicide in 2020. She would love this song so much

I wish I would’ve heard either this song or heaven has risen ours has visiting hours I lost my husband last of January to Covid he was 59 we both lived in a nursing home I still do our wedding song was thinking out loud as it was so poignant to us he used to play the guitar and to some extent Due to Several heart attacks and strokes he was slowly losing his memory but I miss him so much even though it’s been a year and a half thank you for your beautiful lyrics
