My favorite thing about Göransson's score for The Mandalorian was how it sounded entirely unique from all other Star Wars music while still being iconic, and this theme completely continues that trend in the best way.

This music is so fitting for Boba. Dramatic, mysterious, epic, dangerous but still somewhat humble. Boba has always been my favorite star wars character. Him along Jango and Din Djarin are the three best bounty hunters I have ever seen!

If you listen to the end of Jango's Escape from EP 2 AOTC, then you will hear a similar melody to this. It was inspired by that theme, where boba and jango make their escape from obiwan.

@@Simon-og8ut I saw it, the chord progression also comes from 'La folia" which is way older than both, it's traditional European music. Although the rhythms are way different in la folia, and there are stylistic differences from Ronja, I can see the progressions and similarities.

It sounded very tribal and reminiscent of Temuras dance that he does along with something I’d expect Ludwig to use because he’s from that area and the mando theme had a slightly similar tone. And it wasn’t until yesterday someone told me where this theme originally came from.

I see the Maori thing a lot in the comments. And it absolutley could be the case. Göransson went and studied known senegaleese singer Baaba Maal for his work on Black Panther for example. So I wouldn´t put it past him to do something simillar here. But it also sounds a lot like a very specific scene from the 1984 Swedish movie Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia the robbers daughter) which is also about competing bands of outlaws.

@@crunchysalmons I'm not an expert on music so I trust you. What makes this theme different from the Mandalorian one to me, yet, is that sound less "Mandalorian". Growing up with the Republic Commando series, music should be more aborigen oriented. In this case, sounds as a huge mixture of influences.

Ludwig Göransson and Michael Giacchino reprise the next great generation of movie score composers. As much as we love John Williams, we have to acknowledge the fact that he is 90 years old. It is true that he will write the score for the Kenobi series, but it may be his last work. The torch needs to be passed on sooner or later. I'm glad it is passed to these lads.

I don't hear money, fame and legacy at all, all I hear is Boba Fett discovering his new path, which is when he gave up bounty hunting, met the Tuskens and was accepted as part of their tribe, that's why this theme song sounds very tribal.
This theme definitely has a very Folkish Norse Viking feel and sound to it. At the same time very original. All of the Star Wars themes are great just like the movies!!!!
The nordic folkish viking feel is quite warranted I think. The music seems to be inspired by Ronja Rövardotter, the similarities are especially clear in the song "Ronja Rövardotter - Mattis & Borka-sången" (you can youtube it for reference), and it would be no surprise if Ludwig got inspired from that series/movie because pretty much every swedish kid saw it.

One of the reasons this theme is so appropriate for TBOBF is that opening and repeated downbeat. It's incredible. That coarse, feral bark combined with the chimes is absolute genius. They represent the two Boba Fetts; the before and after. That aggressive bark represents the dangerous, mysterious, out-for-himself Boba Fett. And the chimes represent the smooth, dignified, but still forceful leader he became.
The Tusken Raiders and the Rancor being shown as having animosity after being seen as savage beings in any other entry was so satisfying Boba Fett forming his own coalition out of respect rather than fear was a huge growth in character after his near death experience.
Never thought I'd see Ahsoka and Luke share the screen. Cad Bane. This is peak Star Wars, I can already imagine how good Obi-Wan will be after seeing the recent episode. There's still so much to come, and I'm all in for it!
This is not peak Star Wars, this was peak cringe. Basically invincible characters making the stupidest decisions possible over and over again. That last battle was a disjointed mess with so many moments that didn't make sense or add up and the reasons were basically because I need the story happen, or because it will look so kewl. That's just the start of it. I hope that one day you can watch a great series with great writers and storytelling that actually makes logical sense rather than this nonsense that is just member berry nostalgia bait with a story that has plot holes so big you could drive the entire Canadian Freedom Convoy through them.
LOVE THIS SHOW AND THE MANDALORIAN. The production values, music, and especially the storytelling are outstanding and top-tier. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have re-energized this entire timeline. I have watched these series over and over and yes, over again.

@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw it's made pretty clear that he's changed a lot and spent years with the Tuskens. this "feared legendary bounty hunter" with a JETPACK lost any claim to his glory the second he fell into that sarlaac pit. in a galaxy with so much going on all the time it's a wonder anyone remembers anything that isnt affecting their life right there in the moment. think about how it didnt even take everyone long to forget about a galaxy-spanning order of space wizards that were around for millenia. multiple failings on the part of the Republic before the clone wars, the clone wars themselves, and the the empire and subsequent falling of it all lead to a galaxy in such turmoil that folks are STILL just trying to get by decades after the 6th movie, so it's not really that hard to believe Fett's legend would fade like any other. the sequel movies were still dogshit tho not gonna lie, I wish theyd just own up to their mistakes and redo them
Goransson is such a brilliant composer btw, he was able to capture in his music the atmosphere of the Mandalorian and now he did it again with Boba Fett... Perfection.

It sounded very tribal and reminiscent of Temuras dance that he does along with something I’d expect Ludwig to use because he’s from that area and the mando theme had a slightly similar tone. And it wasn’t until yesterday someone told me where this theme originally came from.

This theme perfectly conveys Power, Strength and Courage. All the qualities of Boba Fett. And also honors Morrison's Maori culture by having a tribal feel.
I see the Maori thing a lot in the comments. And it absolutley could be the case. Göransson went and studied known senegaleese singer Baaba Maal for his work on Black Panther for example. So I wouldn´t put it past him to do something simillar here. But it also sounds a lot like a very specific scene from the 1984 Swedish movie Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia the robbers daughter) which is also about competing bands of outlaws.

Even though I thought the show was average. I am still glad I watched this with my dad living in a new country together. It is one of my cherished memories and I would never want to change it.
I will admit that I’m too used to the Mandalorian theme playing over the credits, but this new composition as the theme of BOBF does sound pretty good. I’m sure it’ll grow on me as the series progresses.

@@comic-_-fanboy5414 rhythm?? actually the rhythm for this theme and the one from the mandalorian are exactly the same soo that’s actually the only thing you don’t need to get used to. the tempo is not the same but since they’re basically the same song with different instruments that means beats happen at the same time in relation to eachother so if you know the mando theme and music you should be able to predict how this theme plays out
@@crunchysalmons I'm not an expert on music so I trust you. What makes this theme different from the Mandalorian one to me, yet, is that sound less "Mandalorian". Growing up with the Republic Commando series, music should be more aborigen oriented. In this case, sounds as a huge mixture of influences.

I don't hear money, fame and legacy at all, all I hear is Boba Fett discovering his new path, which is when he gave up bounty hunting, met the Tuskens and was accepted as part of their tribe, that's why this theme song sounds very tribal.

This theme definitely has a very Folkish Norse Viking feel and sound to it. At the same time very original. All of the Star Wars themes are great just like the movies!!!!
The nordic folkish viking feel is quite warranted I think. The music seems to be inspired by Ronja Rövardotter, the similarities are especially clear in the song "Ronja Rövardotter - Mattis & Borka-sången" (you can youtube it for reference), and it would be no surprise if Ludwig got inspired from that series/movie because pretty much every swedish kid saw it.

One of the reasons this theme is so appropriate for TBOBF is that opening and repeated downbeat. It's incredible. That coarse, feral bark combined with the chimes is absolute genius. They represent the two Boba Fetts; the before and after. That aggressive bark represents the dangerous, mysterious, out-for-himself Boba Fett. And the chimes represent the smooth, dignified, but still forceful leader he became.
The Tusken Raiders and the Rancor being shown as having animosity after being seen as savage beings in any other entry was so satisfying
Boba Fett forming his own coalition out of respect rather than fear was a huge growth in character after his near death experience.
Never thought I'd see Ahsoka and Luke share the screen. Cad Bane. This is peak Star Wars, I can already imagine how good Obi-Wan will be after seeing the recent episode. There's still so much to come, and I'm all in for it!

This is not peak Star Wars, this was peak cringe. Basically invincible characters making the stupidest decisions possible over and over again. That last battle was a disjointed mess with so many moments that didn't make sense or add up and the reasons were basically because I need the story happen, or because it will look so kewl. That's just the start of it. I hope that one day you can watch a great series with great writers and storytelling that actually makes logical sense rather than this nonsense that is just member berry nostalgia bait with a story that has plot holes so big you could drive the entire Canadian Freedom Convoy through them.

LOVE THIS SHOW AND THE MANDALORIAN. The production values, music, and especially the storytelling are outstanding and top-tier. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have re-energized this entire timeline. I have watched these series over and over and yes, over again.

@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw it's made pretty clear that he's changed a lot and spent years with the Tuskens. this "feared legendary bounty hunter" with a JETPACK lost any claim to his glory the second he fell into that sarlaac pit. in a galaxy with so much going on all the time it's a wonder anyone remembers anything that isnt affecting their life right there in the moment. think about how it didnt even take everyone long to forget about a galaxy-spanning order of space wizards that were around for millenia. multiple failings on the part of the Republic before the clone wars, the clone wars themselves, and the the empire and subsequent falling of it all lead to a galaxy in such turmoil that folks are STILL just trying to get by decades after the 6th movie, so it's not really that hard to believe Fett's legend would fade like any other. the sequel movies were still dogshit tho not gonna lie, I wish theyd just own up to their mistakes and redo them
