Why the Korean military can't train malfunction drills properly

@@maxkim7937 "Shoot your problems away" can be taken in a number of ways, but that's very descriptive. Shooting is a great way for me to relieve stress. My minds focus changes away from whatever problems it's chewing on. For distance shooting especially (just you and the gun), you are aware of everything from your breathing and heart beat to the changes of the wind. Your first experience will not be quite so meditative, but I highly recommend you try if you get the chance. And of course sometimes it's fun to just "make big boom".

Wait you Brits had to account for ammo expenditure while on active service. Geez and I thought the CAF were a bunch of bean counters.
What sort of asshole expects active duty personnel to account for each and every round fired during a firefight.

Just count every full mag spent, fuck the rest.

@@clothar23 not quite. In Northern Ireland we were issued a specific ammount of ammunition, each round of which had to be accounted for according to serial number. This was to be able to generate as clear a picture as possible in the event of contact for the inevitable police enquiry that would follow. Bear in mind, a shooting engagement in NI would rarely involve a prolonged firefight. People who don't understand the conflict but romanticise the Provos sing that limerick about the Armalite, which invokes the idea of running street battles. The reality is that that was the '60s and '70s, before they had much of a game plan. They soon realised that engaging infantry in pitched battles on the streets of Derry or Belfast was an expensive way to lose both the political as well as tactical war, so they played to their strengths. If they weren't using an IED, they would plan an attack around firing as few as a single round. Their absolute favorite firearm was not the Armalite but the Barrett, a weapon that if used correctly offered little to no possible response unless either the team or the overwatch had eyes-on... which almost never happened. They would plan the ambush and work the recce around firing one round, and then execute a well-planned extraction. So we were not waiting for a protracted firefight, because the enemy wouldn't oblige. The last multi weapon contact in NI was in 1991, it was initiated while the multiple was waiting for helicopter extraction, and it was conducted at maximum effective range. The distances were such that the exact firing point was not identified during the contact, although according to int, the aggressive responding fire from the engaged multiple was an unexpected shock for the attacking ASU; they possibly did not realise that they had not been fully compromised, and the boys might have gotten some shots pretty close. Whole point of attacking at maximum range is to minimise effective response. Legend has it that the Provos were somewhat reluctant in their dealings with that regiment thereafter, although there's no way for me to confirm that. In any case, a combined-weapon contact was an extremely rare event. What we expected, if we were engaged within small arms ranges, was a contact lasting a matter of seconds. We might, if lucky, get a target that popped out and then completely disappeared; they would not give us a second chance; bear in mind, also, that a gunman now fleeing the scene (having only just fired his weapon) was technically no longer considered a threat, and (technically) was no longer considered a viable target. This was of course very iffy. I understand there have been instances where guys have argued that they were unsure the gunman had truly disengaged, or whether he was simply changing positions. The point is, any contact would have been subjected to intense external scrutiny and every effort was made to reduce the chances of questionmarks that could be exploited by an enemy who were the absolute grandmasters in fighting a political war.

Swiss army here, i fondly remember the many mad minutes we got to do if our instructors were too lazy to return ammo after shooting drills. The three round burst on the Stgw90 is a joy.

@@Jarvan_IV 네 영상에서 항상 총구전방 잘하고 계시죠. 저 현역때 제 총이 3점사하면 무조건 탄이 걸리는 총이었는데, 기능고장 땜에 탄피받이 지퍼 여는 경우가 많았는데 총구전방 해도 지면과 수직 상태 유지 안하면 옆에서 통제하는 간부가 하도 총구전방하면서 빵탄 신나게 두들겨 대던 기억이 생각나서요 헣ㅎㅎ

@@levialdrich9342 Not really, the Daewoo is long stroke piston directly modeled after the AK. It still uses forged receiver like an AR15.

@@juzloopz24 purpose, direction, and motivation. NCO's in charge of them aren't doing what they need to. If they feel a sense of belonging they'll be the most disciplined soldiers you could ask for.

Not true at all! Katusa are hard working, even better than some or most ordinary American soldiers. That’s actually the first time some has ever said that. Could be for some, but in my experience they have always been hard working, smart and humble individuals.

@@gus3051 Everyone that says that "they're all lazy" is usually a subpar or neglectful NCO. They'll say the same thing about any soldier that comes to them that isn't automatically a super soldier. American, Korean, or anywhere else.

@@jillvalentinefan77 Both Korea and Japan have very heavy gun control. I assume it is an effort to avoid the possibility of ammunition, or casings which can be reloaded, from being stolen and being used for nefarious purposes. If you issue 100 rounds, and receive all 100 cases back, you know without a doubt that all ammunition was fired and none was stolen. If you issue 100 and receive 99, you can't be certain if the round was fired or stolen even if you start counting holes in targets.

Well one less person to have to pay to clean it up for you, just because Americans are too lazy to do so

@@raebeka763 저는 경험상 대부분 탄창 노후. 스프링 탄성 부족으로 탄걸림 계속 생겼습니다. 부대마다 다르지만 탄피회수망이 제일 문제긴 하죠. 플라스틱으로 군용되어 있는 회수망이 진짜 쓰레기, 제작반에서 철로 만든기 오히려 잘됨. 회수망없이 대회준비할때도 걸리긴하데요. 탄창 걸릴때마다 애꿎은 탄약반한테 지랄했는데 미안하네요. 예산은 안주고 후방부대는 은색으로 빛나는 총이나 쓰고 있고 미친.

앞에 마개씌우고 공포탄 사격 100발 땡기는데 탄피받이에 가스차니까 노리쇠 후퇴전진이 안되더군요 ㅋㅋ

고등학교를 미국에서 나오신 분이에요.

가끔 더블 피드도 일어나서 식겁한적이 있었네요..;

탄피받이 자체를 금속으로 만들어야되요.. 플라스틱이라서 맨날 깨지고
갈라지고 그것도 모르고 장병들 쏘다가 잼나고 ... 부대에서는 대충 테이핑 하고... 또 걸리고 총기 상하고.. 악순환임

@@ulsae 매우 공감. 탄피받이가 플라스틱이라 잘 깨져서 탄피가 나가다말고 약실에 반쯤 걸쳐져 끼이게됨

그때 탄피 카운트 제대로 안한 부사수(부사관) 냅두고 먼저 냅다 사수한테 화내던 주임원사 생각나네..

저희때는 제대로 된 탄피 받이도 없었던거 같아요

죄송하지만 플라스틱 몰딩으로 되어있는것이 신형이고 스트랩으로 고정하는것이 구형입니다.

@@user-kv6sf9cz7j 플라스틱은 10년전에.kctc애서 직접썼고 두개 스트랩으로 방아쇠울에도 고정하는건 2019년에 kctc에서 직접사용했는데요. 그외에 다른 모델이 있는지는 모릅니다

훈련소 행군 중 잠시 쉬는 시간에 멜빵 목에 걸었다고 중대장이 죽일 거 처럼 눈 부라리며 까인 거 기억나네요.. FM 자세대로 하면 바로 견착하는 게 안돼서 목에 걸어보고 있었는데 이쉑이 총 똑바로 안 매냐면서...

@@agarlicsorbet6482 저도 많이 느낍니다. 저는 최대한 훈련병들에게 목에 걸고 이동해야 팔에 피로가 줄어든다 혹은 급작스럽게 사격을 해야하니 너무 FM에 매달지 말라고 말합니다ㅜㅜ(그래도 이게 맞냐며 까이는건 다르지 않더라구요ㅠㅠㅠ)
