Thanks for the video Danny! I'm finally ready to move on from my Galaxy S6 - hopefully black friday will have some decent deals, and this phone came out of left field for me after I had pretty much decided on upgrading to the S20.
I think for me it will really come down to the cameras - do you find that, overall, you prefer the picture quality better on the S20 or the S20 FE? I've also heard from some reviews that the camera lags in the Fan Edition.

This is the best comparison I've seen for these phones. I completely agree with everything you've said! I'm pro flat screen too which was one of the deciding factors for getting the FE over the other S20 models. I got the S20 FE the other day (Exynos as I'm from UK) and it's brilliant! Upgraded from Galaxy A70.
I've had the S20 FE 3 weeks now. I wish I'd seen this review before :(

That is the first proper Camera Test of the Fe! Thanks for that! Many other KRplusrs said that the Tele Lens is better on the Standart S20 (i think they don't tested it, just read: "Oh, just 12Mp, thats lower than 64Mp, so it must be worse".)
Also that is exactly how I like a camera Test. Show also extreme dark conditions and extreme Tele, despite they don't look so well, (they are best to see differences) and tell in the Video what you think is best and highlight details! Well done!
Thanks for the detailed camera comparison. I was really surprised to see the S20 and plus using digital zoom almost equaling the shots of the 3x optical zoom on the FE. I wonder if in low light the FE would pull ahead since it's using much bigger pixels than the other two - have you noticed a difference in low light?

Seems like the FE has the best value for money, with the best price, best battery life (4500mah with native 1080p 120hz), flat screen and comparable camera quality. $699 is a great deal and with black Friday and Samsung's inevitable price drops in a few months this phone will be an absolute steal. Obviously s20FE, because of the better plastic back(more durable, and more better looking), true telephoto camera, better HDR, and 4500mah(500mah more than s20), all other features are nearly the same, and is the cheapest of the bunch

Thanks! I was really torn between the S20+ and the FE. I take a LOT of pictures, but I'm still toting around an S7 (yeah yeah, laugh all you want) so ANYTHING is an upgrade.
Still, the reason I take so long to get new phones is because when I get one, I agonize over which will give me the best camera but is also user friendly.
I did notice in a lot of instances the + is a bit sharper, but for the price difference, the FE makes up for it in other ways.
I'm with you- I hope they correct some of the minor stuff later on in the software upgrades.

ONE QUESTION, about the telephotos: I'm surprised that with the regular S20/S20+ we don't see superior detail in 30x zoom, compared to the FE, considering that we see superior detail quality at 1000% scale earlier in your video?
It’s hybrid zoom. That’s why. It’s 1.1X and then the rest of it is digital where the FE is 3X optical and then digital from then on.

Another top video Danny. I've got a Samsung s20+ but thinking of maybe going for the new pixel. As you can guess I go for camera over most things and after selling my last Huawei P30 Pro I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the 20 plus results that I'm getting.

Great stuff. I would love to see more portraits of people, but WITHOUT the portrait mode turned on. Especially comparing 1x zoom (while standing close tot he person) and the 3x zoom (while standing back, enough so that the frame is the same as the 1x zoom).

Yeah just make sure you don’t get the international one most of the ones that are for sale on eBay have samsung chip which is inferior to the QUALCOMM chips so check that out before you go which button that says yes I want to buy

Great video, Danny! The problem is that given the usual price drop in Samsung's flagships, the FE 5G and the S20+5G have the same price now ( in Europe). It is true that the FE has the SD, but the S20+ is more premium.
The Snapdragon is worth it.

I use the S20 FE for all my Thailand vlogs and find it phantastic. The SD Card slot makes it a no brainer for 4k video recording. My only complain: no 60fps on the ultra wide

@@angelocabanillas2999 its pretty good haven't had any problem with it. It lasts all day. But it all depends if you are a heavy phone user or not. Plus I always use it at 60hz witch saves me battery to me there's no need for 120hz and I also switched it to 4G instead of 5G because there isn't a big difference between 4g and 5g in my opinion but using it in 60hz and 4g saves you more Life!!! I hope this helps

Amazing comparisons. I was interested in seeing how much better the regular s20 did because of a higher pixel count but it seems the FE is actually the better camera in some situations lol. This is going to be my goto phone now
You didn't mention video stabilization for S20 FE for front and rear camera.
I got the FE which has pretty much everything I need in a phone. 120 Hz refresh rate, SD 865, 5g, 8 gigs of RAM, and cameras good enough for me. I absolutely love the lavender colour too. But I got it before the S20+ went on sale. It is being sold at virtually the same price, or even lesser than the FE right now, and if that's the case in your country, I think it's better to go for S20+. If the looks of your phone matters to you, that's even more of a reason to get the S20+, since it has a glass back and a curved display which might be a huge deal for people coming from previous flagships. PLUS, you have to know that the S20 FE does not come with a fast charger, even if it supports fast charging. No earphones either. So S20+ is definitely the best deal, if both versions come with snapdragon in your country. Also, FE can only go upto 1080p while the S20+ can go up to 1440p. Just think about it, higher resolution curved display with better pixel density, better front facing camera, 12 gigs of RAM, glass back, fast charger and earphone in the box, S20+ is definitely the better deal, especially if they're similarly priced.
there's a known issue right now where the s20 series has a green line of death except for s20 fe

The S20's can also record in 4k @ 120fps using pro video mode and they got that directional audio in there too!

Got mine Jan 2, 2021 and I love it so far. I had the sony xa ultra 2 for a year it was good for daytime but terrible in indoor so I got a hwawei p30 lite after. It was a little better than the sony at dark but still not happy with it. After 14 months got this badboy samsung fe ... holycrap the pictures are so great daytime and nightime also use the nightmode which is even better. I dont think im switching in 3 to 4 years for a new phone. Hopefully its durable enough. Also bought a camera lens protector which I have never done before because I want to keep this for a while. Samsung FE is worth it
