That steak scene was every lactose tolerant while drinking milk
It's biologically very similar, actually. Your body produces special enzymes to help you digest meat or lactose. The lactose enzymes are supposed to naturally stop when you're weaned, and the meat enzymes work similiarly by stopping then they're no longer needed. Lactose *tolerance* is just a mutation that keeps that enzyme around past infancy.

As someone in recovery from an eating disorder, I love this satirical exposé of the toxicity of diet culture. I know it may seem a crazy dream, but one day we will all be able to eat what we feel like without guilt or shame. Everyone should eat how it is right for them, because bodies are unique and no two people eat the exact same way

Probably the best diet out there is calorie counting and there’s apps out there that assist with it
Basically you can eat and drink whatever you want as long as you keep the calorie count below a certain level

I have type 2 and keto has totally reversed it. I know for a fact that there are people successfully doing keto with type1. Doesn't reverse it but greatly reduces the amount of insulin needed. Fact of the matter is before injectable insulin keto was the standard treatment for type 1.

@@Dude-cf8hb Ketoacidosis is bad for diabetics. This is an entirely different thing than ketosis. Ketoacidosis occurs when ketones are present at the same time as extremely high blood glucose. This cannot happen while in true ketosis. Search for videos on the subject, there are guys who can explain it better than I. Look up Dr. Eric Berg and Dr. Ken Berry, those guys know their stuff.
@@Dude-cf8hb It is tougher for type 1s. Requires closer monitoring and a keto friendly doctor. People who do it usually drastically reduce the amount of insulin they need.

This has got to be the most realistic and educational-ish Every Blank Ever, and I honestly love it because of that.
This is why the reliable way to lose weight through changing your diet is just to eat fewer calories. I lost weight last year without any exercise and while eating what I normally eat, but keeping track of how many calories everything was and making sure I stayed under a certain limit. (And then lockdown started and now I keep stress-baking cheesecakes. Argh.)
Calorie restriction only works so far and only lasts as far as your will power can stretch and isn't great if you're prone to disordered eating. What worked for me personally is trial and error finding healthy things I actually like and enjoy and then slowly eating the unhealthy things I like less and the healthy things I like more. That way because I'm still enjoying my food I don't have to feel restricted which is what makes many diets hard to stick with.
@@mgomez6480 Thats because you're looking at it the wrong way. It's not supposed to be calorie restriction, you're supposed to get used to healthy portion sizes (as most people's portions are more than they should be). Find out the recommended portion sizes for your height/recommended body weight etc (there are online calculators), and then slowly just reduce your portions by 5/10% at a time until you have a healthy eating habit.
I've been doing this for 5 years and I went from 120kg now down to 76kg. If you do it slow, its maintainable, and willpower Isn't even a factor, it just becomes what you're used to.
of course, this should be in conjunction with what you mentioned, replacing unhealthy foods with healthy alternatives, like drinking tea instead of soda, or non-sugar variants of soda, or fruit juice, and things like fruit instead of baked goods/candy, etc. both of these changes together result in a solid overall lifestyle change.

@@Protocol15 to be fair, for a lot of people wanting to diet, they are overweight, so losing weight in general for them is a simple marker for "improved health". I think anyone who embarks on the journey of "weight loss" long enough eventually learns there's definitely more to it than just being skinnier. Muscle mass, nutrition, muscular /skeletal health and developing healthy habits are all important. All of these will have an effect on your mental and emotional health simply by way of feeling better, regular endorphin release, and of course improved self image/confidence. Of course it's completely different for every individual, but these are pretty common for most people undergoing this journey.

When your body haven’t digested meat when it’s used to it thinks you’re in danger which is why it hurts so much
There's literally special enzymes your body has to produce to help you digest meat. Your body doesn't bother producing them if you don't need them, so there's a painful adjustment period while your body catches up.
