What is Coffin Corner? | Why is Coffin Corner Dangerous?

- Hi. In this video we look at what is meant by coffin corner in aviation. We see how this corner comes into effect where an aircraft may enter into low speed stall if the speed reduces or enters into shock buffet and lose altitude if the speed increases.
This occurs at very high altitudes because of the variation of stall speed and maximum operating mach number with altitude.

Nice explanation! Did it happen in AF 447?
There were a series of events(mistakes) that led to the crash of that aircraft. But yes there have been a few incidents reported where the aircraft entered coffin corner!
