If you want to understand deeper about this, I suggest you to watch NCTmentary. The more you watch it, everything kind of make sense. Even universe had been mentioned there.

The whistle must be their medium of connection.
When Johnny's headphones started playing the interlude (past to present) it shifted to Shotaro (the present) which means they're in the present now. the lyrics "welcome to level 2... try again" made more sense bec they're arriving in Kwangya/Kosmo via escalator/elevator but somehow because of the virus-- black mamba w/c is the digital effects that disrupts what they're doing-- their "welcoming" gets disrupted that's why in Sticker and Hello Future they get "access denied" so in the interlude they're told to "try again". THEN it shifts to Sungchan, another present Neo, which may mean that the Neos will try again thru Sungchan (Present to Past --> Turn Back Time) that's why they want to go back to the origin and sync from that point (7th sense, Taeyong) and if they're successful to break the dream loop (the impossible triangle 2021 teaser gif) they'll continue from Present to Future. then maybe sing some post apocalyptic victory song with aespa. but idk.
**also Johnny texted "is everything alright?" before the interlude played, which means it's either they can't sync well in the dreams or their plans to enter kwangya/kosmo is disrupted by black mamba (which could be an entity they don't know yet) :3

Sungchan and Shotaro really grew as an idol. I can still remember how shy they were during nct 2020 and look at them now, they can pull any concept. i am happy for them and of course, i am happy and proud for the whole team.
From Johnny's scenes, I won't be surprise if this man will debut as an actor too. He did great in his part. When he close his eyes and the interlude music played, I lost it. I was awe until the end.
