I remember when this film was called Blazing Samurai, and it was in development hell for over 5 years.
Also, this was meant to be a homage to Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddle, in which, funnily enough, he’s also a co-producer on this film and voices Shogun.
Yeah, I’m a bit worried about this film especially since it’s a homage to Blazing Saddles and the humor is almost bottom of the barrel.
Well that film also had crude and low brow humor BUT Mel Brooks made it work and it’s still being praised years later, the writing here seems a bit forced and not done naturally like how that film did it.
I honestly don’t want this film to fail but it’s going to depend if many like it or not, I mean Wonder Park was eyed at as being successful and look what happened, I mean whatever happened to the planned series that they announced years ago?

After waiting for many years, tickets were bought for every showtime on opening weekend. The scene where Hank tells Jimbo "It's hankin' time" was quite uplifting to hear and evoked many tears of joy.
Actually kind of enjoyed this movie, and i instantly recognized the voice actors!
So this what "Blazing Samurai" was originally going to be. Can't wait for this movie to be the new Arctic Dogs where it's original title was was "Arctic Squad"

The character designs look outdated, but the humor and overall look of this film is really appealing. It feels like it's combining old school comedy editing and Tarantino styles together. Hope it does well

"Outdated" to you is just "Basic Character Design" to me! They're all unique silhouettes that are easily distinguished from each other at a distance, which is much harder to achieve than it sounds. The character designs are also easily "translated" into 2D, which allows for a lot of freedom for the artists/animators overall! The fact that it's meant to be a tribute to Blazing Saddles - with Mel Brooks HIMSELF involved - bodes very well for me, all things considered. 🤗

This is totally a homage to Blazing Saddles, The Karate Kid, Kung Fu Panda, and Isle of Dogs!! Which is why this deserves both that Golden Globe Award and the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film next year in 2023!! Would you fans agree??

I haven't laughed this hard at a trailer for an animated movie in a long time, I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard about it several years ago (with it also being based off Blazing Saddles one of my favourite comedies ever made, and several of my favourite actors are providing their voices in this), hopefully it it doesn't disappoint. 👍

A critique of the remake filled movie landscape we find ourselves in. and the post-Shrek fart-joke style of animated kids movies with celebrity filled casts we've been seeing for 20 years that are only getting worse as time goes on.
I've just watched this and it was hilarious. It is a side splitting take on the Mel Brooks classic "Blazing Saddles" and the creators weren't ambiguous about it. Even has Mel Brooks voice acting as the Shogun.
