The way some people are gushing over Wilson, you would think he was the one who threw six touchdowns vs Clemson against the 1st overall pick with busted ribs. The media are insane lol
Justin Fields will be a bust. Just like Dwayne Haskins and Cardale Jones. The last two OSU QBs in the NFL.
Ohio State quarterbacks don’t have the good history in the NFL, but Justin field seems to be a bit different.

3 Teams in College Football play with a stacked deck every year. We know who they are. Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson.
There are teams that have very good rosters. There are even teams that may be able to match those 3 if you just looked at the top 15-20 on a roster. LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, USC can compete 1-20 but Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson have talent 1 through 40 and greater on the roster.
Alabama's backups are better than the best team's starters. Alabama had Tua, Jalen Hurts, and Mac Jones together. Joe Burrow had to leave Ohio State to get an opportunity to play for LSU who could never find QBs. The #1 QB in this draft is Clemson's Trevor L. and his backup is currently projected to go #1 whenever he decides to declare for the draft or becomes draft-eligible.
Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State have tougher practices than they have games in their conferences.
Same with Lawrence. Fields had two really good receivers to throw to. The rest didnt really do much of anything.
Marcus Spears is right People forget it was Lawrence or Fields early on and Fields out performed Lawrence in the college playoffs and Wilson comes from out of nowhere and is now a better QB. They Fields had better weapons they wasn't saying that about Tua who went to Alabama
Tua was considered the best before the season last year and then Joe Burrow had the best season ever. Everyone also said if the Dolphins took Justin Herbert over Tua it would be a mistake, and then back peddled to say the opposite when they saw who was better. They were proven wrong on Tua and even Daniel Jones over Haskins, how did that turn out.
It was Darnold vs Rosen early on too until people got tape of Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield and started making noise that those guys were better. No one cares about what guys do in college they care about what the tape says.

I’ll believe it when I see it. There also exists the possibility that Alabama has just such superior talent that almost any decent Quarterback can step in and win a national championship. Eg. Mac Jones' Alabama team did not look a single bit worse on offence than tua’s

Only to prop up a BYU QB when that school hasn’t had a good QB since the early 1980’s. Or an Alabama QB that also have never been good. Or a Clemson QB, who never have been good outside of the outlier Deshaun Watson.
@@aoht06 Honestly the only two QBs I think this year that are worth it are Trevor Lawrence, and Mac Jones. I'd compare Lawrence to Peyton Manning (in college), and Mac Jones to Kirk Cousins. Everyone else will most likely be a bust IMO.

I feel like “they played better competition “ is so dead to me because some of the best players be playing at the lesser D1 schools in the power 5 conferences or be at some mid major school anyways
Also if we’re going to be honest if you play at Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, etc. You are actually playing against weaker competition relative to the quality of your team. Eg. Your wide receivers are probably going to be better than opposing defensive backs 99% of the time. Your offensive linemen are going to be better than the defensive lineman of the other team. Your tight ends and running backs are going to be better than the linebackers of the other team.
This is why you see guys like tua And Dwayne Haskins succeed in college so much and not do that well in the NFL

Have you ever considered the possibility that teams like Alabama and Ohio State have such an overwhelming advantage at all positions that their quarterbacks develop bad habits of relying on that overwhelming advantage.
So many of the good quarterbacks in the NFL do not come from powerhouse schools. Aaron Rodgers is from Cal. Russell Wilson is from NC state, Patrick Mahomes is from Texas Tech, Lamar Jackson is from Louisville, Dak Prescott is from Mississippi State, Josh Allen is from Wyoming, etc.

I just don't trust Zach Wilson's one great year against sub par competition vs. Field's 2019 season. Both need a good surrounding cast. I just think Fields is more durable and athletic to do more with less in the new NFL. However, if I were the Jets, I'd just trade the pick for multiple first and build a team over the next 2 years where you can lure a good free Agent QB or draft a QB in the future when they are better equip to win. The division is tough with miami, buffalo and new england to take an unknown like Zach Wilson over 2 future 1st round picks and possibly a 2nd/3rd.

There may be 5 QB in the top 8/10 picks. Unless this QB class is historically amazing, odds are at least 1 will be a bust and 1-2 will ok to good at best. Every year the media always puts QB prospects on a pedestal but unless they do great in year 1, they reset with the new incoming QB class. Classic example is Tua
Did the jets know Cleveland would pick Mayfield #1 in 2018 when they traded up to #3? I dont think so. Just cus the 9ers traded up doesnt mean they know what the jets are going to do.
That's true, but it's easy to forget that the jets didn't give up that much to move up to the 3rd pick(they gave up a few 2nd round picks), the niners gave up a lot ( 2 future first round picks) so maybe they have a hunch on what's gonna happen
@@TheOscar401 : Nah. Something is up. We got reporters (McShay) saying Niners never made a call to the Jets to move up to 2. Moving up to 3 just somehow sounded right. Suppose Salah, former Niner, decides to stick with Darnold and take Pits or Penei ? That moving up to 3 suddenly makes a lot more sense. It would be so "lucky" to just happen to have Wilson fall to them. On the other hand Salah could have made it clear unofficially that he is staying pat at 2 and the Niners defaulted to 3. But that move to 3 was not just picked out of thin air.

Neither of these two would be on my radar for a plethora of reasons... Trade out of the pick and get serious needs lower in the draft. Tell me which QB drafted in the 1st round since 2000 who had things they needed to improve like accuracy actually improved once on an NFL team? There is NO comparing Feilds to Haskins! Fields has High football Acumen and is a top character young man . If the 49ers take anyone other than Fields... they will likely be proven wrong. Zach Wilson played against no one. Additionally, I would question whether or not Zach Wilson will hold up to physicality of the NFL?

Justin Fields. I can't even name any of his OSU receivers. His OL was crippled for the playoffs. Against Clemson he got hit hard, then stepped up and destroyed that defense. I don't even think Wilson would have come back to the game from that hit.

Pollick should be placed on leave after saying this. Zach Wilson is a good prospect but he’s not an ELITE talent Qb like Fields. Can Wilson make those throws yes, accurate, can count the X/O’s. But Fields’ talent under the RIGHT system (49ers) is the best fit at no.3 over.
Watch the Big 10 Championship game and watch how often Ryan Day rolls his eyes at the decisions and execution of his QB... The hype machine surrounding these mediocre QB's is astonishing. Recent drafts show us the Rosen's (character) and Tua's (decision making) of the world aren't going to make the cut for long in the NFL and it was all very obvious at the collegiate level. Would rather trade down, get real value in my picks instead of distraction and get someone like Kent State's Crum in the later rounds who may actually have some upside... We all sit on our opinions though.. Always want the best for anyone who is putting it out there on the field, but a little realism goes a long way.

Unfortunately I cannot dismiss the fact that in the last 40+ years every QB drafted into the NFL from Ohio State has faired poorly. And for that reason I'd stay away from Justin Fields.

What I saw Fields do against Clemson showed me he has it. Everybody loves to criticize Fields but yet you think Lawrence and Wilson are these can’t miss flawless prospects? And get real with yourselves man, Mac Jones couldn’t hold a candle to Fields. Jones is not talented at all.

At the end of the day, it's a gamble between Wilson or Fields. Some people will give more props to Fields because he played for Ohio State, and rightfully so. But, when was the last time an Ohio State QB was a success in the NFL??
Situation is a huge part of it. For the sake of argument, let's say that Fields is picked by the 49ers. He'd have a much better team around him than the other Ohio State QB's did
