I was going to post the same. The Mini obeyed the Highway Code, the sleepy head in the car behind wasn't looking at the road situation. It doesn't matter if the compiler considered that the Mini should have moved, or "not stopped". The law is the law. They stopped for the pedestrian, as per, and there was sufficient space for the following vehicle to brake, IF the sleepy blonde had been both driving and THINKING. And I just saw that the rear-ender was driving a TOYOTA, that doesn't say much about her intelligence. Never trust the driver of a Japanese or Korean vehicle.

A lot of people panic when the see the lights change. The reason we have 3 lights in a traffic sequence is to give us time to decide if we can stop safely or if it is too late to stop and it's safer to continue. @@Larwood.: Agreed, you have to be travelling at a speed that allows you to stop within the distance you can see to be clear, and at a separation that allows you to stop if the person in front of you stops (even if it's for no apparent reason). That said, it's always "amusing" when people don't understand repeating lights and stop where they're not supposed to, and on a separate note, there are some locations where there is a box junction and a set of traffic lights where there's a stop line (and so you must stop at them) where it's virtually impossible to stop outside of the box for except for possibly the smallest of bikes (if even them)
In one case, there's even a level crossing which has a junction before it, and a box junction was added in retrospectively for the junction with very little space between the crossing stop line and the box junction, leaving enough space for a single car, guess lorries and buses don't matter much then hey

Or if you’re driving a buss or lorry, you can’t always see the first set of lights at the solid white line. So they placed secondary/repeater lights a little bit in front, so you’ll be able to see the lights.
The Mini driver had past the first lights where you pull up to the white line on the road, meaning; you can’t go beyond it if the lights are red.
To prove this, there isn’t a solid white line at those lights, in front of the Mini (2:48), like there are on the opposite side of the road just before the lights.
Those lights were not for cars that have already drove past the first set of lights, that would have a solid white line where you must stop behind at a red light.
The Mini shouldn’t have stopped as those traffic lights were not for him.
However, even though it was the Mini driver’s fault, the camera car was going too fast and wasn’t paying attention. But still the Mini driver’s fault.

The mini driver was wrongly reacting to the downstream traffic light by mistake, and had already crossed the stop line before the amber light came on, (which can just be seen in front of the cammer right at the start of the clip and more clearly on the repeat @2:53) that mini should not be stopping inside the yellow box and therefore is totally at fault.

This means that the driving standards to pass a test from NOW on will be much harder! People will soon no longer be able to move to the UK from other countries and just 'exchange their licence' for a British Licence (they will have to pass a driving test first).
