They announced they sold though 1.5m first week while stores stocked 1.8m. The youtube video for wife and super lady would be making around 500k-1000k USD USD in ad rev. Unless music videos make much less. I think they should cover the costs of the promotion just from youtube ad rev.

I really liked the fact that Soyeon was honest about the costs as much as she can be. Nothing is cheap anymore. Production costs are huge then you have marketing / promotion costs. So many times it is hidden. She was asked she said. She is the leader of the group and in my opinion one of the most loving, caring and best leaders, and yet, also one of the most misunderstood leaders out there. I love all the members of the group as they all bring something different. The one thing I do love about Soyeon is when she writes a new song. She writes it with her group members in mind so that they all get to shine. The fact she spent that amount of money on a gift of top end microphones for all her group members so that their voices can shine as best as possible. To me just highlights what a kind and caring person she is,

No offense to anyone, but Soyeon doesnโt need to tell the group members how much is being spent. The company doesnโt do that and thatโs part of how K companies run. Not going to say itโs right but that means that Soyeon didnโt need to go through her members to approve it. Plus Soyeon has proved that she can keep G(idle) ahead of the curve.

It is. Idols are typically in debt for most of their careers because they get billed a large chunk of the production costs for comebacks and MVs. It can sometimes be even worse due to bad contracts. For example, one of the reasons Orbits were so upset about BBC and how they were treating LOONA was because they were covering half of the production but only making a small portion back in dividends. if I recall, they were reportedly only receiving a third of the revenue cut, essentially keeping them perpetually in debt.

Gidle spent 1Bโฉ is 820K dollars, less than what most pop artists spend on theirs, plus the gross earnings and sales theyโre getting back is covering for that tenfold already. BAPโs mv one shot coast 900k dollars. Taylorโ swifts mv in recent years have reached 12 million. Quite a few of beyonceโs mvโs cost 1M.

Yes, the rest of the members had to pay the MV too with the money in their pocket so that's why Minnie get upset because she and the rest of the members spend a lot of money for the MV with the company too because the budget is hight for them.

Gidle is definitely one of the best girls kpop group in this generation! They remind me of my favourite group SNSD! Every year they bring lots of projects for us to enjoy. They are unique girls and each one shines so brightly. Whenever I look at other girl groups, usually one member only stands out or they aren't consistent active. Like Blackpink for example, I think they debuted around the same year and if you look at how many music they've made is very little compared to Gidle. No wonder Miyeon left YG and debuted with Soyeon.
