honestly for me that could buy a cart and a half of groceries! it's an absolutely heinous price and it's a decent fraction of some people's rent or mortgage

I feel like minimalism gives you the inverse experience to buying things⦠when you buy something you get an instant rush of happiness but then it fades overtime and eventually the stuff creates anxiety. Minimalism initially feels hard when getting rid of stuff / downsizing but then the happiness grows from that decision overtime. Hopefully that made sense lol

Any makeup product over $50 either pays my rent, cleans my house, get rid of every pimple I have instantly, cooks me food, and turns back time by five years or itβs not worth it

I love luxury makeup, but as far as what I would say is "worth it"...the Geurlain foundation is God's gift to makeup. And it's about $60 a bottle, if you ever feel like splurging!
Personally, no matter how good a product is, Iβm never going to spend $150 on it because I know there is other amazing products for SO MUCH LESS. but I like to see your opinion on it

Ugh Tati I agree with you about designer stuff. I used to think that I'll be so happy to have all that expensive garbage but it only made me feel shallow and indifferent. Can I afford these items? Yes. Do I want or need them? No. Honestly, some good, high quality underwear makes me more happy than a new Gucci bag. I guess after this wild year we start to understand what is important in our lives haha

I think this past year has made a lot of people realize what truly is important and worth our time and money. And materialistic items fell to the wayside. Human contact, and true happiness is what is important, not the next hot trend. Tati is so much more relatable and glowing and Iβm living for this and having Tati back just makes everything full circle. ππ¦

As an Australian seeing people that are wrapped up in the "LA lifestyle" is really odd, it seems so vapid and toxic. I don't care if something is secondhand and cost $2 if it brings me joy there is no way I could love something more simply because some celebrity wore it.

Tom Ford needs to chill out - from his perfume prices to his makeup pricesβ¦I got a sample of the mascara, went to Sephoraβs website, saw it was $60 CAD, had a laugh and moved on! π³π

No foundation is worth that much. That is SO much money. I mean if it makes you happy sure. But I donβt like it when people claim that it is so much more expensive because it is THAT much better than a regular foundation. Itβs not. Buy it if you want it. But letβs not pretend the quality is proportional to the price.

EstΓ©e Lauder futurist hydra rescue has the exact same ingredients and performs the same for a third of the price. SAME product from the same company. Just saying, do not spend the money.
A comparison video would be great of both of the foundations.
I have both and they are different, they perform differently somehow π€·ββοΈ. I like both but prefer the Tom Ford.
What was the brand with the gold top? She was saying she could buy almost 15 of them, I think. Love quality for less.
Interesting point. I was going to try the Futurist at the start of the summer but they discontinued it, no Medium shades at this point and I won't buy something that is discontinued anyway. Wound up getting the Urban Decay Kombucha Tinted Cream. It is very buildable and has that moisturized glow, so I think comparable and was 34 dollars. I think the most I spent on a foundation was 40 dollars for Lancome Tient Idole a few years ago and I didn't like it because it wasn't longwearing. Well it was fun going down this rabbit-hole, have a good night!

I really appreciate that Tati has been able to share with us that she's had to "scale back" in her life, as I feel like a lot of other people would just keep up with the illusion or not even share that aspect of their lives. I appreciate the relationship she has with us.

I can definitely relate to the whole being over a certain phase in your life. I went from freelance makeup artist 15k followers to quitting everything and becoming a nurse π

I think Covid has made us appreciate the truly important things like you said family, self care, and friendship. Nowhere to wear the fancy shoes and designer purses that made them go to the back of the closet or get rid of them to make space for a home office. All that said I never lost my love for makeup and to watch your videos

The fact that it's spf 50 AND still an amazing foundation means it's a gem in my book. Usually when they put high spf in something, it makes the product not perform well.
I went through stages too where I cared about labels and fashion. Now I donβt care, just want to look nice and classic!

I feel the same way. 2020 was an eye opening year.
I donβt think indulging in higher end brands and fashion is necessarily toxic (not exactly what you said but u get the point) - but I think the past year made all of us introspect a little more and a little deeper than before through isolation - about ourselves, our relationships, our sense of morality and direction for the future (post-pandemic). - whatever is toxic, trash it i say! but if you find a way to indulge in fashion or whatever it is in a healthy way then i hope you find that balance! - just wanted to reflect on that π§π»

I got a sample of the Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte foundation and it was so incredible I said to myself, "You are a grown woman with a good job. Go splurge on that foundation for yourself." It was $88, and I just could not bring myself to do it haha
I found I was buying this foundation, and that foundation until I settled on Armani Fabric Foundation. A whole 5O is bottle lasts me a while - about a year.
Adding a drop of oil to my foundation is one of the tips you've given us. It made Estee Lauder DW my holy grail foundation. xoxo

I TOTALLY agree with what you said about fashion and being less materialistic, I've worked on my own business during covid, and I really didn't care much about fashion, even now I don't spend as much as I used to, I only buy items that works now, I like to spend my money on vitamins, skin care And house hold items as I work from home. Anything else is just bonus.

Your past experiences actually made you become what you are now. What you went thru just made you realize of what is trully important and what trully matters. When a person hits a low point in their life, it makes you see things and value things things differently.
