If you know Wilbur Soot, then you likely know about his infamously unsolvable ARG. For those NOT in the know, it's time to catch up. Now, this video may seem a little late, but this was indeed a hard one to solve. Yet, I think I did just that. Matpat is basically the theoriest who thinks he can solve anything like when you ask "What is this game's story" (but the game has no actual story) to him, he will try to solve it even for years

i actually disagree on the “i’m so cold” being the girl’s last words; i think it may instead have been his thoughts as he tried to save her (since he mentioned having hypothermia, presumably from exposure to the cold water), so it’s a lingering memory of the trauma.

@@waterdroplet5594 ARG stands for “alternate reality gaming.” In short, an ARG is basically a mystery/puzzle game but the clues are scattered around the internet and/or real world. Only by finding the clues can you get the whole (fictional) story for that particular ARG (like in this vid).
That’s my basic understanding of (most) ARGs. If anyone has more to add/correct me on, pls do so 👌

On the subject of DID, I find the whole family of disorders similar to it really fascinating because I have a mild dissociative disorder myself due to brain damage at a young age and emotional abuse as a teenager (from my gf, not my family, thank goodness).

I think the girl whom Wilbur falls for’s name is Lenore, because in the Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, the character mentions many times an angel named Lenore, possibly her three favourite Edgar poems were those you mentionned, with her name being Lenore, beggining with L, Elle’s lovely three makes more sense, which would enforce that R. Fakier was the one in love with Lenore, and the one who killed her.

As someone who has DID... Thank you matpat for saying how awful this disorder is shown in the media. We are not monsters and we do not kill people or anything like that. It is important to explain people how different we all can be, and how those 'different' people deserve care, respect and support just as much as any other human being. Theory: In the song, “your new boyfriend” Wilbur talks about how the girl in this theory is dating someone else. He also seems very obsessive and insane, emailing her various amounts of times. Could this be that since she was dating someone else it corresponds to events that made Wilbur push the girl into the lake and killing her. This is just a theory I have and a small connection I want to try and make
that might be true , but he does always say that the all of the egirl / obsessive kind of songs are just a character and has nothing to do with anything really else

the thing with the DID theory that people have been talking about on twitter is that Will did disprove the theory because he didn’t want to portray anything that he didn’t have, so, sorry arg enthusiasts :(
if this was recent, I have a feeling that he is lying. He probably made it up to not get backlash from mctwt for being "ablest" or something stupid, because as we all know Minecraft KRplusrs have no spine, hell, it could be the reason why Wilbur didn't want it solved in the first place.
wilbur wouldnt lie as it would just hurt the arg. the answer of the arg would get out eventually even if it was this theory. Lying about it and causing people to still search would do nothing but hurt the arg.
@@user-gb8yd3eb9j have you seen a mcyt after being "cancelled", it would be an understatement to say they don't have a spine. Wilbur apologised for taking his mask off to have a drink of water, I don't think him hurting the ARG so he doesn't get "cancelled" is totally reasonable by a guy like him.
@@SahilFR wilbur has stated before (like well over a year ago, i believe) that the arg is pretty much unsolvable because it was his first time making something like this and he didn't actually know what he was doing, and made a lot of beginner mistakes. nothing to do with ableism or minecraft youtube or whatever, the arg was talked about before dream smp even started.
@@hcneysuckle That could just as easily be an elaborate way of saying "I portrayed something that might be controversial amateurishly." His basic message has been;
1) Ignore it.
2) Forget it.
3) Don't try to solve it.
4) I made some amateurish mistakes (not elaborating what those are).
It is more than likely that all of this is true but it is clear he omits something from his thinking. The ARG was around before for sure but you have to understand that *it has easily 50 times more eyes on it now* from an ultra-critical, ultra-passionate and young audience.
