I was skeptical but I tried exactly how it’s mentioned and it WORKS! You have to spread the meat thin and make sure the flame is on medium low heat. Also! Heat up your oil and make sure it’s hot enough to fry!
Thank you for the recipe súper budget friendly!

  • @bobbieschroder6231

If you'll notice, it's a thin layer of meat inside the tortilla, so there's no need for concern about the meat not being adequately cooked. (The thickness of the meat appears to be between 1/4" and 3/8" before it's been cooked.)
The fire is on a low setting while it's cooking, and the steam created inside the folded tortilla also assists in cooking the meat.
If you want to, you could always put a lid over the pan for a more concentrated cooking effect.
Since it's a thin layer of ground beef, there won't be an enormous amount of grease from it, especially if you select a leaner fat-to-meat ratio of ground beef.
What grease there does happen to be, inside, will be soaked up by the inside of the tortilla (making it extra tasty). If you opt for the multiple-folds version, the grease inside will be less noticeable.

ב''ה, particularly on the thicker version I was expecting steaming that'd give you a nice meatloaf-wonton-chimichanga-pierogi.

I made this for dinner tonight. It was very good. I overdid the onions, I think. I think either the yellow onion or green onions next time, not both. I also added a bit of garlic and some oregano and a bit of chili powder. Not much because hubs doesn't like spicy. I spread the hamburger mix on half of the tortilla very thinly. The hamburger cooked through, no problem. Helly's not kidding about setting the temp at medium low after getting your pan hot, lol. I used my 12" cast iron and let it heat up while filling the tortillas. Medium was a bit too high. The first batch got more than a little toasty, lol. I like this recipe. I can see using ground pork and pineapple for quesadillas al pastor as well. Thanks so much for this recipe.

Thanks a lot for your recipe idea. It is so easy and the dish looks really yummy! You can add my zucchini and tomato salad to this tortillas to have a full course of healthy meal for the whole day. Welcome to my channel to see how I cook this salad!

I cannot rate this recipe highly enough! 10 out of 10! I decided to cook this on a whim today because it looked so easy and quick. I did make a couple of substitutions: Mission Cauliflower flour tortillas, 93% non-fat ground beef, 5 sliced cloves of garlic and Kraft Parmesan cheese instead of mozzarella. I didn't need any sauce for the finished product at all. Thank you so much for the new recipe!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Конечно вкуснее с сырым фаршем, лепешка пропитается соком и это очень вкусно! Спасибо за рецепт!

Lovely idea~💡thank you for sharing! I might try also with ground chicken/garlic/gouda cheese, though I do understand this is a traditional type recipe that you are using with tortillas.=) Beautifully done.🌼

Well, when you have kimchi with whatever you eat, it seems interesting to eat something else. It's a bad recipe anyway. It could be made with Lebanese bread without being fried!

  • @rasgardenandpoultrypigeons2048

Great recipe. I was concerned about not cooking meat first, but tried it anyway. Taste 👅 great. But I cooked a little longer due to meat not being cooked first.

Tried this and my daughter said it was so good and so easy she can make it herself.. and that's saying a lot for my sweet but whiny teen 😶 It wasn't too greasy and was cooked perfectly! Thank you Helly! 🥰

I have not tried this yet but is cooking at 5 mins each side enough to cook the mince?

@@barneygribbin3161 I just made these for the first time. I did the quartered version which cooks a little longer. They were delicious! I’m excited to make again tomorrow with the other half pound of ground beef.
