- For Spurgeon’s 6th birthday celebration, we took him to the restaurant of his choice and Ben let him order off the adult menu for the first time! Then we had a party at Grandma & Grandpa’s house to round out the evening!

I love that y’all celebrated him receiving an empty box, lol. We should always appreciate what our friends are able to offer us. Way to get creative on the fly. I never would have thought of a frog house, lol.
I think that Fern and Henry looks like daddy. And Spurge and Ivey look like momma. Beautiful children. 🌹🌹🌹🌹. Fern does have mommas eyes.

I can't believe he is 6 either. I remember going with my mom to the Southern Women's Show in Birmingham in October 2015 and Jessa being pregnant with Spurgeon. She was there with Ben.
One nice thing, about a really large family. More presents 🎁

He really is the brightest of all the grandkids. His vocabulary and diction is impeccable. All the other children sound like babies by comparison!
I kept wanting to say, Spurg.. it's a steak sandwich! He described the little green things and cheese.. I think he wanted a philly steak. lol But the ribeye he got looked like a MUCH better choice!

They are all very smart, but Spurgeon is wise beyond his years. Precious, precious children. From what I see in the videos you post they seem like very well-behaved kiddos.

Great choice, Spurgeon! My son and I always choose Outback, too! I think it costs us a bit more though because we go all out with an appetizer, good steaks, drinks, and dessert. We figure it's worth it twice as year. I LOVE their sweet potato and their broccoli is near as good as a dessert. lol

We do something similar Birthday person gets to pick where we go or what we have for dinner if they'd prefer home cooked. My youngest turns 15 today and picked garlic rosemary chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn, and my homemade chocolate black out cake
We had the same tradition in my family! The birthday person would get to choose the restaurant of their choice; however, my birthday is in January, and it would always be snowing, so Mom would let me choose the menu for supper. She would cook anything I wanted, no matter how weird!

We never had the money to go out every year to a restaurant. But we had what we wanted Mom to cook for breakfast and supper. With a homemade cake and ice cream and presents. Only kid parties at 5 and ten. Restaurant at 18 at the Top of the Hub with our first legal drink.

Oh Jessa I got emotional when you were at your parents home. I thought, " where is everybody"? I am used to all or most the siblings to be around, but most of the older siblings are married and it's the little ones left. How times have changed 🙂
