Yes many active rescue divers are saying that people should get what is called a personal emergency flotation device that will inflate by pulling a cord they inflate rapidly and will pull up if you go under for some reason. Cramping to tired ect....

There are signs posted "swim at your own risk", you are given life jackets and told to where them, and its dangerous to go out alone with 1 adult and i child... what good would a life guard have done anyways? Paying a baby sitter but they stay 3 street downs and never actually look or can see who they are watching? Personal responsibility... that and drownings are not like what you see in movies... they are mostly silent.. one of the scariest deaths bc you dont know its happening if there is 20 people around having a pool birthday party.. my son almost drowned 5 years ago and i almost drowned as a child and in my teens.. im 35 now and im terrified of water bc its dangerous and there are rules and safety precautions for a reason.. I feel horrible for naya and her son and family.. i pray for them thru this tragedy.. i hope something good comes from this... moms out there remember this and take it to heart in Nayas memory.. Lakes are not like the ocean and even the ocean if sand is a bit darker it's very hard to see. In this situation as they keep describing it's covered in dead vegetation that existed from before. If you investigate lake and large natural dwell drownings you can see why it is actually very possible to get caught and not come up. Or what if she got some sort of cramp. Anyways they should know something else after the autopsy

But if she was able to get to be that close to the boat then she would have gotten on the boat. That tiny 4 yr old would have had to have his mom literally put him onto the boat. He physically would have had a hard time getting onto that boat especially while wearing a vest.

I’m saying the same thing. For a child as small as her son they would have to be put onto that boat rather them climbing in. It would physically be a struggle for them to do so alone let alone while wearing a life vest. If she put him onto that boat then that means she was literally right there against the boat. Given that, how does the child say he looked back & saw his mom going into the water? That sounds as if she was in a distance, correct? So again, how did she put him on the boat but then become distant from him???? I know you can not trust anything that a 4 yr old says, they explain things differently, see it differently than what it actually is or was. But it doesn’t make sense from what the child says. If she was that close to be able to put him back on the boat then she would have had a chance to grab the ladder & climb back on as well

Maybe the boy jumped into the water and she jumped in after him to retrieve him and got injured or caught up. I have been in lakes like that, and you don't go swimming in the middle with a four year old life vest or not. That would explain why she had some clothing on if in fact she did more than swimwear.

These 5 days of not knowing must’ve been horrible for her Family. Someone missing in the Family is a far worst experience than dealing with their remains. I didn’t fully understand that for closure you needed a dead body, until a family member went “missing” at the 9/11 event. For almost a whole year We lived in this state of shock. My Mother held on to the hope that her child was still alive. Remains were finally found out 1 week, before the 1 year anniversary of 9/11. It was painful, tragic and none of that ever goes away. However, it also felt like the first time we were breathing at a normal pace again. I’m grateful that she was found. My heart goes out to her Family. Sounds like she was able to safe her child, but not herself. R.I.P. Naya Rivera 🙏🏼
It’s heartbreaking that she passed away in her favourite place. She loved that lark and went there often. It’s horrifying how she lost her life there. But she died a hero. She saved her son.

. Lakes are very dangerous, more dangerous than the ocean cause there are whirlpools that will suck you down and there is not salt in the water to help keep you floating. And don’t forget about the cold water shock that you can get in lakes

Lakes are not like the ocean and even the ocean if sand is a bit darker it's very hard to see. In this situation as they keep describing it's covered in dead vegetation that existed from before. If you investigate lake and large natural dwell drownings you can see why it is actually very possible to get caught and not come up. Or what if she got some sort of cramp. Anyways they should know something else after the autopsy

Sounds like when she hoisted her son back onto the boat it pushed her down and she got entangled on something below.
But if she was able to get to be that close to the boat then she would have gotten on the boat. That tiny 4 yr old would have had to have his mom literally put him onto the boat. He physically would have had a hard time getting onto that boat especially while wearing a vest.
Or she exhaled while pushing her son onto the boat and got submerged before she could intake more air. Skinny people sink without air in their lungs.
Jen Weaver I think she jumped in with him thinking the water wasn’t that deep and when she realized it was she immediately with all of her force and focus put her son back in the boat and she sunk...because she was tired and tried to grab the somewhere on to the boat but went under the boat which was pretty wide and her not seeing couldn’t find where to get out and she drowned...

Carolyn Jimenez ok listen to this..... as a mother, a parent, if you’re alone on a boat in water with your 4 yr old & you decide to swim, you would drop the anchor to hold the boat in place right? When you go swim with a small kid usually you’re in one place right? Considering that the kid is small & cant swim you would play in the water in one spot right? So why wouldn’t you drop the anchor to the boat? You wouldn’t want the boat to start drifting right? Why didn’t she release the anchor?

I’m saying the same thing. For a child as small as her son they would have to be put onto that boat rather them climbing in. It would physically be a struggle for them to do so alone let alone while wearing a life vest. If she put him onto that boat then that means she was literally right there against the boat. Given that, how does the child say he looked back & saw his mom going into the water? That sounds as if she was in a distance, correct? So again, how did she put him on the boat but then become distant from him???? I know you can not trust anything that a 4 yr old says, they explain things differently, see it differently than what it actually is or was. But it doesn’t make sense from what the child says. If she was that close to be able to put him back on the boat then she would have had a chance to grab the ladder & climb back on as well

Maybe the boy jumped into the water and she jumped in after him to retrieve him and got injured or caught up. I have been in lakes like that, and you don't go swimming in the middle with a four year old life vest or not. That would explain why she had some clothing on if in fact she did more than swimwear.
You could be right maybe he fell into the water more than jumped in and she went in after him. That would make sense why she didn't have swimwear on oh, but she still should have been wearing a life vest while on the boat.
I wonder what the temp of the lake was that day. I know lakes can have varying temps depending on the depth and can have cold columns and currents that can surprise swimmers. Sending prayers to her family especially for her son.

These 5 days of not knowing must’ve been horrible for her Family. Someone missing in the Family is a far worst experience than dealing with their remains.
I didn’t fully understand that for closure you needed a dead body, until a family member went “missing” at the 9/11 event. For almost a whole year We lived in this state of shock. My Mother held on to the hope that her child was still alive. Remains were finally found out 1 week, before the 1 year anniversary of 9/11. It was painful, tragic and none of that ever goes away. However, it also felt like the first time we were breathing at a normal pace again.
I’m grateful that she was found. My heart goes out to her Family. Sounds like she was able to safe her child, but not herself. R.I.P. Naya Rivera 🙏🏼
It’s heartbreaking that she passed away in her favourite place. She loved that lark and went there often. It’s horrifying how she lost her life there. But she died a hero. She saved her son.
