i totally agree with this. he can just go with flow and throw any funny antics or he can make an awkward situation into a fun/funny one. i hope he can show more of this side. i hope SM just let him be himself, and not much controlling of his public persona.. :(

Aka does he show his "idol" self or his "true" self which I hope we see that more than the "idol" persona because that is the best version we can ask for ^.^
Ive seen the Vlive too.. He wanted to pour something out but he kinda reserve it thinking that maybe it would bored fans or something.. I think if some of us could have a chance to meet him(during events) or went to his vlives could praise him and say hes perfect as he already is.. Its good to have a persona to u know gather fans but not for him since he himself is already interesting, dorky, funny and talented as well.. The visual is a bonus!

It's not a matter of being unfunny, he's just not confident in his sense of stability (?) So that he can make jokes like he normally would around like, Johnny for instance. He, in general, is very unsure of himself. Friends like Johnny give him that initial push and drive he needs to be more outgoing and loose. And most only focus on his appearance. Like when he's MCing, his movements come off as forced and jerky, because he's not relaxed enough to let himself be fluid around others he doesn't know well. Of course, when it comes to anything about his looks like when they bring it up, it's nothing new to him, so he's very easily able to show himself off because of the same attention he's been getting for years. In his relay cam with Johnny, he was very languid and relaxed, he could actually make jokes and not hesitate to make them. If you literally see him around anyone who he doesn't know informally, He's calculated, doesn't let himself be comfortable because he thinks me might say something that the other won't like. This is just an observation btw, I don't know him personally, but from the same mindset he's seemingly been in from the start, I think I can pin some arguments.

Well honestly it's unfortunate, but it's a part of the K-pop culture. Every member comes with a concept, a position, and an onscreen personality. We do get glimpses of who they are fortunately through videos, but most of it is contrived. I think they get in trouble when they start to act outside of their personas.

He shouldn't show so much of his personality on screen especially moments of reality when he is said, angry, character flaws ect. I think one of my favorite Jaehyun moments is in the behind the scenes for Coming Home when Taeil just gets this great big sparkling genuine laugh out of him.
I usually never stan the “visual” of the group, but jaehyun is so much more than that, he’s got nice voice, can rap, can dance. On top of that, he iw a great cook, he’s attentive (he might looks like he just sits there quietly but he pays attention all the time), his sense of humor is harmless n quiet n i just love it, i love everything about him. I even love his clumsiness and the way he loves and uses the same items over n over again.

Well honestly it's unfortunate, but it's a part of the K-pop culture. Every member comes with a concept, a position, and an onscreen personality.
We do get glimpses of who they are fortunately through videos, but most of it is contrived.
I think they get in trouble when they start to act outside of their personas.
@@ineedya123 yeah as much as I love kpop, it's the little details like this that make me feel a little mad with the company because I just want these guys and all kpop idols to just enjoy themselves, but I guess in every job you are told to do something and if you don't then you get in trouble, it's just unfortunate that kpop idols are told to mess with theor own identity, but I'm still very thankful that they get to do variety shows or vlives where we get to see a little more of their real character💛
@@targetbleach8689 well look at it this way, for these boys own mental health (idol life is horrible for mental health), they should have an exstensive private life, and keep things to themselves. He shouldn't show so much of his personality on screen especially moments of reality when he is said, angry, character flaws ect. He is human like yourself, so giving a filtered version of himself, or allowing only certain aspects to be seen through vlive ect, is better for him in the long run.
