@@davidfortune6739 - Depending on the weather, most teams tend to practice indoors in a climate-controlled facility (I can't speak for Ohio, but other teams reside in places that can be dead cold, or stupid humid during the fall/winter months).
The Bengals ownership is considered so cheap (players had to play for refreshments at practice, re-used equipment, lack of a climate controlled practice facility), Scrooge McDuck would tell them they're doing it wrong.

@@dennis8683 the city council that wanted the building to be made commercially viable did everything they could to make sure it wouldn't be. We had to walk away but it was an interesting exercise.

I lived in an apartment complex growing up. My father offered to pay for, and install a basketball hoop in the neighborhood for us kids to play. The manager of the apartment complex shut it down and her answer was "itd bring an undesirable crowd and kids would just be smoking weed and drinking." I completely forgot that story until pat brought it up.

This is why realtors are important. Not sure if you had one or not, but they would’ve helped you by explaining what occurs at these meetings. I’ve gone through a few with my clients and it’s always the same. People oppose and they have valid concerns usually, but they’re open to bettering their community

I work for public works of a small town where city council is a very strong presences in everything the city does. I've experienced what Pat went through and it can be a very complex and long sessions. Since it was a public meeting you should be able to find that session online whether it's video/audio recording or any type of writing log on the host's website.

My old company was told to pay 350k to rezone and expand parking for the property they had operated on for 5 years because a neighbor looked it up and realized it wasn't zoned properly. We moved out 2 weeks later.

I think we all know what that means. It's actually a pretty common idea sadly. A lot of basketball courts have been removed from certain areas in recent years because of that mentality.
