No, it didn't. Watch Shadow from 2018, that's a better looking, better choreographed fantasy martial arts movie with only third of the budget of Shang-Chi & the Legend of Ten Boogaloos.

Still one of the best Marvel movies I’ve seen so far this year , and Shang-Chi & the legend of the ten rings was an absolute breath of fresh air , truly this movie broke so many box office records worldwide during these unprecedented times , and Simu Liu absolutely was PHENOMENAL

3 quarters of the movie is martial art and the final battle was almost pure magic. It's so perfect.
and even the final battle and everything still had the martial arts, which was so frickin cool and they did such an amazing job with it :D

That’s what I called a loving father (dont forgot he also beat up the people who bully Shang hi at the bar when he was small)
I love the redesign, the way they use the rings, was expecting different powers (and they thought about it), but making it skill based was the better option.
They could still make the rings do different things. Its like a caveman taking a loaded shotgun and swinging it like a bat.
Wenwu and Shang-chi are definitely more powerful than other people but are they using these rings correctly? What if they can manipulate elements? Instead of introducing that in the first movie we can find out in the sequels.

They made them different so they weren't so similar to the infinity gauntlet/stones I believe
Makluan rings are objectively better than the clunky, bad looking iron rings, which are only limited to projectile attacks. Outside of being simply better looking and slick (since you can actually move your hands while wearing them without making it sound like you're shaking a bag of nickels), but their powers are energy-based, and energy is variable and visually more interesting than just boring projectile attacks. And as for the skill, the Mandarin is one of the best martial artists in the comics. That's his skill. He has both physical and ethereal strength to crush his enemies.
@@JakeYolk if you can confuse a magic gauntlet with ten rings that are worn on fingers, you shouldn't be watching movies, since you're probably not even in school yet. And also, since when was the MCU about originality and not being repetitive? Denis Villeneuve said it best, they're copy and paste of each other. So hardly makluan rings would be the straw to break the formulaic camel's back.
This version of the ten rings is probably my new Favourite artifact in the MCU ESPECIALLY The way when the rings can bring such spectacle to the fight scenes! What an amazing final fight!

@@ashbasu Eternals is certainly concerning…I kind of question how well the concepts can be translated to film…it’s also a bit more than just “Ancient Aliens”-it is probably even more risky than the Guardians were back in 2014…

Glad to see a different release strategy with this one. Marvel movies are made for the big screen and if they expect a big box office they need to respect the theatrical window at least for Four weeks and then open it in Disney+. They screwed the Black Widow income and they know it.
Yes, "Shang Chi and the legend of ten rings" will be available after November 12 on Disney+. So, plenty of time for the theatres.

Last dragon battle was amazing
Saw it again yesterday and loved it even more than the first time! Shang-Chi is definitly one of my new favourites! I also loved how they re-imagined the ten rings, everything about this movie was perfect for me.
I think the redesign is genius, especially as an introduction for these characters, fighting styles, and artifacts into the mcu. They could always play with the idea each ring representing different powers/emitting different light/energies as the story of Shang Chi develops more. smart move

The movie was insane . One of the best but but but we literally know the whole movie by the two trailers and 100s of clips by marvel officially lol except the ending fight ( that was next level ).
Lmao no. The trailer don’t give away any actual meat of the story. If particular scene being shown is an issue for you then don’t watch trailer at all.
But the plot? Lmao nobody saw the 3rd act coming. None of the trailers gave that away

@@milanchaudhary6162 No Way Home is a bit of a difficult example to make in terms of trailers giving the plot away- I kind of question whether it was the brightest idea to tease so much in that trailer, considering the movie is already a mess of leaks. It just confirmed so many of them with in some cases just a handful of frames.
actually many are suprised that the trailers are a let down and the movie itself is just amazing!
Seriously, kudos to the VFX and film team for amping up the cinematography of the Ten Rings, I was FLOORED by how friggin crazy the rings were used during the fighting scenes from the beginning to end. It was literally crazy watching this in the theater!!!

Well its still Magic just a different version of the Rings but its basically just a more streamlined version from the one in the comics as in its Nerfed for the MCU as most things in Comic book movies

Although, obviously, Stan Lee cannot be replaced as the cameo king of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I propose the concept be continued. I believe Jeffrey Wright, as Uatu the Watcher, should just make silent background appearances, in all-any future MCU films. I feel it would make perfect sense, given the nature of Uatu and who does not love Wright?! Anyone?

Re-imagining the 10 Rings was one of the best decisions they've made with this movie. That, and the way they decided to portray Wenwu made the entire Mandarin character work in the MCU. I would have loved to see Wenwu face Iron Man, but Shang-Chi is one of Marvel's best movies in my opinion. It wasn't a superhero movie, it was a movie about a broken family, with some supernatural elements, set in a world of superheroes.
Watch Tony Leung in Internal Affair just now and he looked just as young!
Really good movie I hope they go into more of the comics for the rd shipment of the rings in the next movies. (Maybe weaker sub abilities that work in tandem with the rings main abilities.)
