Gravel Bikes in the Austrian Alps

- I linked up with legendary mountainbiker @ScottyLaughland to put the new SCOTT Solace e-gravel bikes to the test. Scotty is familiar with the mtb system in Saalbach, Austria and showed me a good time. We absolutely hammered the bikes and we broke long before they showed signs of weakness! So cool to check out spots like Leogang and this corner of the Alps.

Such a cracking ad for Scott. Well done!
Cracking, but ill buy a Scott when their prices go down to 1k.
@@the.communist Good for you, I guess.🤷♂
@@the.communist 1k per what?
I've been riding gravel streets for half a century. This little video is an ode to the forest road.
Thank you Safa! Thank you Scott!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤝
@@SAFABrian well done on the shots and music, very nice 👌
I’m blissed out just watching. Must’ve been amazing to experience!! Bucket list!
I got a train from Bischofshofen to Zell am See, rented mtnbikes in Saalbach. Bike packed a month South Tyrole Italy was grand . And Slovenia by far my favorite country
Sounds very cool. Is your route on Strava or available anywhere else?
CraigShambaugh if you care to follow .In Europe it is so easy with Komoot app and velo routes .You can change and make uop routes on the fly . Mangart in Slovenia was the hardest climb yet for me more raw and just as beautiful as Switzerland . Grimsel was almost as hard . South Tyrole was the most away from traffic .It was like the sound of music scenery every day .Enjoy

Alpine Heaven! BRILLIANT VIDEO🤙
Thanks Safa, now I want one.
Oh yesss! Can’t wait for summer ❤
Such a relaxing watch!
I would love to watch an extended version of this this cycle along with when indoor turbo trainer riding in winter. Amazing footage as usual.
Oh man, this look s like a lot of fun
Amazing !
This is art man 👌🏼
superb vid as always! honestly can't tell these are ebikes because tq motors so sleek!
Wow, so cool railing those gravel curves haha! I also have Addict Gravel, with 44mm tires, but I have huge respect riding downhill on loose gravel (some nasty crashes in the past), that was a nice example how to do it right! :)
Gravel is definitely the sketchiest discipline if you're pushing it.
beautiful
Stunning! Can you please share the route? Thanks
Love you guys! When is the complete downhill cycling video coming out?
Beautiful !!❤🚴♂️🤙👍👌
MOCNY MATERIAŁ BYKU
Cool AF.
Who filmed this? Alex? Beautiful cinematography as always, and amazing riding.
Alex with this edit. Robert Grew on the camera and Brodie Hood flying the drone.
@@SAFABrian as a team you guys kill (in a good, art-centric way that brings inspiration to your audience...:-) )
Looks like Kitzbüheler Alpen, Salzburger Land, Austria.
Yeah, Great, but I was next to this area last year, at Hohe Tauern with montain bike, montains around higher than 3.300 meters. Thats a paradise on earth for gravel roads ❤
que video sensacional cara
Il y avait la même musique d'ambiance, celle du début de la vidéo, à mon enterrement.
The 60mm aero wheelset looks completely out of place ... but I want it for my Addict Gravel!
I think they suit the massive tubes of the Solace. I want them on all my bikes tho so don't trust my opinion 😂
I'm biased but...Austria is the fuckin best! From my hometown Vienna to high up in the Alps, one wonderland.
Reading about 50mm tyres reminds me of my early days riding mountain bikes in the nineties, which I started partly for comfort reasons and crooked road bike wheels . lol
I can't help but think that todays bikes are absolutely amazing, and if the technology had been as good back then I might possibly have never tried mountain biking ... It's a strange thought as I had a lot of really good times on mountain bikes. Now I ride my Kona Jake the Snake with Zipp 303s about two third of the times I go out, and there is the old me from the nineties inside talking to me: "Dude, you're crazy ... Aero-ish wheels on a cyclo cross riding road and gravel mix." lmao 😅... Gravel X ... Maybe if it defies labels, then it's the most fun?🙃
Sounds like you know how to have a good time on a bike
@@SAFABrian Yes, I try to. Sadly we do often have a lot of rain here in the lower Rhine area of Germany and even more in the Eifel and the High Fens in Belgium ... nothing you can do about it, really, either accept the mud or stick to the road.
Btw, your videos are all really inspiring, they make me want to go out and get on my bike, thank you for that. 🙂👍
There I am at home heaven on earth 🤠
Waw❤
Oh man do you have a gpx for these routes or some direction as to how to find them all?
All my long format videos have Strava links in the description. This film was shot over multiple days in many different locations around Saalbach so no strava on this one unfortunately
Please can you share the route somehow with us? Looks awesome
Super geil!!! Great Guy"s
Can you do drops with a gravel bike?
Can someone explain the drivetrain here please? In 0:19 I see a SRAM red shifters, paired with GRX cassette and what I believe is a GRX di2 mech? What the actual f.. 😳
It's an all SRAM drivetrain, a mullet setup.
You guys make me proud to ride a Scott foil!
Scott foil with 33mm gravel tires >>>
낭만 ㅈ되네
Best mountains on Earth?
Gotta admid, this looked real fun! But those 50mm tyres on a gravel bike are a bit overkill aren't they?....
Na I reckon they're great for a buryl e-ride like this. I actually run a 50mm tyre on my regular Addict gravel. Tyres are the only suspension I have and 50 is real nice for som grip and damping.
MTB
You lost me at e.
Why not use MTB's ?
Cause gravel
Looks like mostly hard packed gravel and no doubt some road…gravel bikes will be far superior.
