I agree. He is the least snobbish Italian that I have ever seen, especially when it comes to food. He seems like a very nice man.

When he was pouring the sauce over the meatballs I felt like I was watching Kitchen Nightmares.
But I think he did restrain his demeanor because he knew that _they_ knew it was all bad.

That's true that we don't eat pasta with meatballs in Italy, but in Teramo (Abruzzo) we do have something similar called "chitarrine alla teramana" that is a kind of handmade spaghetti with tomato sauce made by nonna (from 6am) and small meatballs (pallottine), it's a must try!
