가수 홍진영이 새로운 앨범 [Birth Flower]로 돌아온다.
지난 2019년 발매한 정규 앨범 ‘Lots of Love’ 이후 약 1년 만에 가요계에 컴백하는 홍진영이 독립 후 첫 앨범을 발매한다. 홍진영의 새 앨범 [Birth Flower]는 ‘탄생화’라는 뜻으로 과거 생일을 축하하기 위해 꽃을 주고받는 것에서 영감을 얻었고 기존 소속사에서 독립 후 1인 기획사를 설립한 홍진영이 새로운 환경에서 다시 태어난 것과 같은 마음으로 새로운 출발의 의미를 담았다.
타이틀곡 ‘사랑은 꽃잎처럼’은 ‘사랑’과 ‘꽃잎’이라는 키워드가 ‘탄생화’라는 주제를 더욱 빛나게 한다. 홍진영은 독립 후 처음으로 발매하는 앨범인 만큼 기획 단계부터 적극적으로 작업에 참여했으며 스태프들과 함께 의견을 나누며 앨범 제작에 더욱 심혈을 기울였다.
데뷔곡 ‘사랑의 배터리’부터 ‘산다는 건’, ‘잘가라’, ‘오늘 밤에’ 등 홍진영의 수많은 히트곡을 작곡해온 국내 최고의 히트 작곡가 조영수와 다시 한번 만났다. 이별의 아픔과 그리움을 다 피고 진 꽃잎으로 비유한 시적인 가사와 가슴을 울리는 세련된 라틴 멜로디가 더해진 ‘사랑은 꽃잎처럼’은 탱고 리듬을 바탕으로 한 스패니시 계열의 라틴 음악과 한국적인 트로트의 이색적인 만남으로 이전에 없던 새로운 매력을 느낄 수 있다.

she is very popular in South Korea but her popularity varies. usually when she does a comeback, she doesn't (or can't) beat idol groups. but when she does gigs, she is very popular especially because of her most famous song "love battery".
though yes I wish she was a bit more popular. her music is very underrated and the only song that people think if its her is Love Battery

Since she sings trot, a lot of older people are into her music but old people aren't really as engaged in terms of streaming on music sites and watching music videos.
