I was in my early 20s, my best friend, her husband and I were very close and we went everywhere together.
Then she got pregnant and they grew apart, he got closer to me and would talk about their problems and she did the same. She didn't want to go anywhere so she told him to go with me, she trusted me. We used to sing this song in the car, one day we were talking, I told him I was lonely, he grabbed my hand and told me he was there for me. I'm sure it could have gone further but I chose to distance myself from him and not to betray my friend. He took this as me rejecting him and things were never the same which is a shame because they were like my family.
I wish he would have understood that I wasn't rejecting him, that I was respecting their marriage and honoring my friend's trust which is a lot more valuable than a passing attraction.

@@new_journey66 Yeah, things were fine when the three of us were hanging out together, it was when the two of us were thrown together that things developed. He was also probably feeling neglected and my friend was feeling unsupported and even cried about it one time. I tried to let her know that it was the stress of the pregnancy and only temporary and I told him to be understanding and patient and that everything would go back to normal in time. Honestly, it felt awkward but we were all young and trying to do the best with the situation.
I really miss my friends, I thought they would be in my life forever, they live cross country and although we're connected online I haven't seen them in almost 20 years.
