My experience in electronics for the past 60 years and keeping up with new technologies and my experience of being a victim of tampering tells me one thing....all man made programs and software can be tampered with absolutely no issues and buts. NOTHING is safe. I have faced it.

Thanks Mr.Deshpande for giving right information. Supreme court CJI should immediately act and boycott EVM and printed vote should be counted. Indian Secular democracy should have transparency in everything.

Not only the opposition members but as the people of all Indians should come forward on the ground to oppose them .

Supreme court should interrupt immediately and Ban EVM.

With so much clarity why is it that the Opposition leaders are not taking it up with the Election Commissioner to convince them how there can be misuse of these EVM machines. We have serious suspicion and mistrust since the last 10 years and so we just want the EVM machines to be banned. We already had another person namely Subramanian Swamy the very own BJP MP who had serious doubt about the role of these EVM machines long back. In all we want the EVM machines banned forever. Jai Hind !

Why are we still Accepting This Form of Voting when we know our Votes will not go to the Party we voted for. We need a Revolution against the EVMs and we can wait until a proper system is designed for Fair and Free Election. THIS IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR OR FORGET VOTING.

Probably. That is why all the major democracies got rid of EVMs and went to paper ballot. India is likely the only democracy that uses EVM machines. Scanners are as fast or faster than EVMs these days and they are much cheaper

I do not understand how the SC can vouch for the integrity of the equipments and of the personnel.

Public must decide we cannot vote in evm all opposite parties knows very well why allowing no justice

I'm one of representative of a political party and under gone in ECI program of FLC (first level check ). I too agree that VVPAT can respond differently to CU. Election results should be declared on the counting of VVPAT slips.

Excellent dialogue. When the election commission says it's open source then why not make it public. But again even if the source code is made public we would not be sure that it's the same software. They can release a changed code

Solution is, let the voter gets the slip and put in another box and that must be verified.

EC should respond to the plea of this . Democracy is definitely at stake. What is keeping them use of ballots ?

VVPAT should also be counted too. And it has to tally with the result obtained from the Control Unit.
ECI has to come out with a mechanism to ensure and secure the confidence of the voters in free and fair election.

Counting of votes should be done on the basis of printed VVPAT slips rather than from the control unit.
That's the only way to lay rest all the doubts

Sir once the Result is declared there is no way you can go for a review. It has never happened and it will never happen. Plz block or stop this system before its TOO LATE. EC should not be Allowed to play Spoil Sport to Favor A Few.

One day if we found that the evms were manipulated in 2019 or 2024 or any other election, what will be SC done? Will the responsible officers be punished under law of Deshdroh.

Most of the countries of the world have discarded the use of EVM'S for voting.The citizens want to go for voting by paper ballot,but the ones who are supposed to adhere to the people's choice are protecting the EVM's. Even the BJP who were against the use of EVM'S when in opposition are not showing any interest to reintroduce paper ballot.

I worked as po.we used to as testing the evms,vote 20 votes to different candidates .The result was perfect.Another thing is the evm is securely sealed with all the tapes supplied and attested by both and the APO.So it's not possible to replace the evm with another as the signatures of the officers cannot be ignored.

As rightly summed up by the interviewer in the end of this interview, it is a real pleasure for it's viewers as well to watch it.Though a good number of voters are suspicious about the EVMs, what is within our control is to create this kind of awareness among the voters. Why because the sanctity of our democracy as the public often think, doesn't primarily rest on either the politicians or those in power for that matter. Invariably our voters must be educated & empowered which is the only way to strengthen our democracy & safeguard it from the present political quagmires.
Last but not the least, my sincere thanks to both messrs madhav deshpande for his elaborate presentation giving all the pros & cons & sujith nair for making such a fruitful interview especially on an electoral perspective possible. The real issue is that the SC is 100% committed to the electronic system and not willing to entertian any doubts. So all these discussions are academic

You have worked wonderfully and so extensively, to suggest possible checks and methods to prevent poll tamering... But the truth is tampering is not so complicated, they dont have to lose sleep if someone wants to tamper poll results

That is the reason we needs appointments of Election Commissioner with integrity and by a committee comprising CJI, PM & Opposition leader and govt majority committee

nobody on earth can tell if EVMS are hacked? because ECI is not ready to show the contents of this box

There should be a feedback sheet that the polling officer shall use to collect the feedback from every electorate who has voted. This feedback should record the fact that "if they have seen the VVPAT printing the same symbol of the button they pressed for" and "if they saw the VVPAT actually got dropped into the ballot box". The scanned copy of this feedback sheet should be uploaded at the end of the polling day by the polling officer.

We can not rely the EVM now, with the comments of the experts.

If counting VVPAT and matching with EVM can resolve the long discussed issue. My opinion is that, it should be done. There are many unemployed youth in this country. Engage them and get the counting of VVPAT machine done. They will be rewarded for their work. At the same time ECI can regain the trust of Indians.

Forget about tapering or tampering,search for the 22 lakh EVM machines .

To address the EVM issue forever,all the VVPAT slips should be counted and also the EVM’s numbers.If the result is same then it can be assured that EVM’s are 100 percent perfect

I will go with what Congress leader suggested, that the print output should be directly taken by the voter and put in the box.🤔, when an EVM is set through internet the data too can be manipulated after election 🤔

the irony is the opposition win states with EVM and are happy, but the moment they lose in other they cry foul. Then, if they are serious, they should not accept the win!

It is like Murphy's Law. If there is possibility of tampering; the trust of voters is at stake. In such scenario, the ECI should take all necessary steps to restore that trust and goodwill.

When I caste my vote by pressing the designated button, let the signal go simultaneously to EVM to print & control unit through 2 separate wiring.

Pegasus used people should not say that electronic voting machines are not hackable because our mobiles are electronic ones & hacked by Pegasus.
