I swear that Diary Film makes me cry every time especially Jongho and Mingi's part. Like I know it's not real but watching them fight while knowing how Mingi is one of Jongho's favorite people ever irl just makes it hurt more. They actually have more scenes to add to this that are at the end of episodes of their variety show, Fever Road. Also I can't wait for your eventual reactions to the rest of this album. Fever Pt 1 is my favorite Ateez album.

funfact: part of ateez storyline is based on their personal lives, so fragments of their "origin story" can or cannot be based on real events.

I'm crying like a baby every time watching the diary film 😂 you should watch their show "ATEEZ : Fever Road" cause the prologue and epilogue of each episodes are connect with the diary film. And the most importantly, it's so much fun! Lol 😁

Great reaction as always, Inception is such a great song and, as a Seonghwa bias, I'm happy that he gets the spotlight that he deserves here :)

One thing about Ateez-they are very committed to their storyline. Their title tracks (often B sides) and various promotion films are connected.
The stairs definitely give the Answer vibe. Also, the promotion films and Guerrilla have Wooyoung dancing in a circle of people, Yeosang playing the violin, Seonghwa dancing with freedom, and San running. And the group recognizing they need to work together to succeed.
There is still untold story and I feel like Mingi’s is the most incomplete at the moment.
Keep in mind that this came first, then Treasure series, then World.
In the actual Fever diaries (included with Fever diary version album).

But Mingi thinks it’s pointless to dream.
Jongho lost one dream (basketball) and is scared of losing his second (music). The fight was over Mingi’s cynicism about having a dream.
Also, Yeosang’s father is a bit of a villain and he shut down the warehouse they hung out in.

I think hongjoon running towards himself is a reference to the movie inception. In the movie you need a "kick", a strong impact to wake people from the dream and be able to scape, so when he ran towards himself you see that everyone opened their eyes, hongjoon just woke them up. There is beds in the reality and also in the dreams (wooyoung in the parking lot, jongho in the basketball court, etc). At the end I think hoongjoon couldnt scape of the dream (you know that in the movie if you go deaper in the dream it was more difficult to wake up again) but i dont know how much this is related with the storyline, maybe it was just a tribute to the movie... you girls are so funny and cute.

Girls, I've watched this Diary Film so many times and it makes me cry every single time. Ateez does that, they're home (Honestly, it's one of the reasons I love them soooo much because they stick to their storyline so well and I've been Atiny for over a year now and still don't know exactly what everything means, but I love learning more and more as the comebacks release and I'm so excited that you two are on this journey together). Also I was crying when I got to the part where you said "Just put the words.. "Tissue warning" and then tears streaming down my face while ALSO laughing. So here's your Tissue warning that Ateez will end up making you cry a LOT through your journey and probably even when you know it's coming.. will still make you cry. but then again, you seem to be keeping it together pretty well, lol. Love your reactions so far in this - still have to finish watching to see your reaction to Inception :).

A lot of their stories here happened to them in real life like wooyoung's stage fright during his big hit trainee days and Jongho's injury after a car accident. Also Yeosang not having the freedom to do music cause his parents denied him. Also inception is def not a love song, they mentioned how it's about the obsession to find/reach one's goal.

i really recommend watch their show "Fever Road" it is so funny and there are parts in each episode connected with the diary film too and yea the video that played on the screen was from say my name mv good catch btw ❤

After stanning ATEEZ, I have high standard to a song or music. If it has deep meaning if you know what I mean, then I'm into it. Not just about love to a girl or confession but a song consist of a good lyrics about motivation that all of us can relate.

This era is such a roller coaster, you laugh and cry with them. Mingi on hiatus during Fever Part.2 is heartbreaking but 8 of them comeback and became stronger in Fever Part.3..

Bri! I'm a softy too. I was crying watching you two get emotional. It doesn't matter how many times I see something like this, I still cry every single time.
The storyline is confusing because Ateez hasn't fully put out everything yet. It will make sense when the time comes. Long time Atinys are still guessing.
One of the things that I enjoy about Ateez's music are the messages in their songs. They acknowledge that life will have struggles. We are not always happy or successful, but even if we go through those things, it's okay. It's not the end all. We can still overcome, we can still move on and grow and we don't have to do it alone because we aren't alone. There are many who are going through the same journey and riding the same wave.
Also, as my lovely friend has said about Seonghwa... JAIL.

yeah yunhos brother in the storyline is like . super dead .
jonghos injury is completely unrelated to yunhos brother.
jongho was angry with mingi as jongho was forced to stop his dream (sports) due to his injury, and mingi wanted to stop creating music and helping with yunhos brother dream (music) due to his own reasons but it made jongho mad. because jongho didn’t get to decide to stop his dream, he had no choice but to stop
they have written story line in the diary versions of all their albums from ‘zero fever 1’ onwards which confirms this multiple times, and well as gives in depth understanding to the story as a whole

I’m so glad you guys got to Inception. This song and Answer are my all time favorites-I can’t choose. I also love this dance.
Diary Film is long but it’s worth watching. I think everyone can relate to at least one of these stories.
Oh and I adore blue haired Hongjoong.

Sorry to spam. But if you notice the various things from each person’s dreams are starting to combine. Yeosang’s bed ends up in SAN’s dream and SAN’s boxes end up in Hongjoong’s dream/bed.
My interpretation is that this shows they are stronger together when they support each other and each other’s dreams.
There are also intentional references to the movie Inception. For instance Hongjoong sacrifices himself (goes into limbo) in order to wake up the others.
The MV needs a few rewatched to catch everything.
Also, absolutely check out a dance practice. This dance is one of my favorites because it’s so interactive. One person controls the group or another person with a lot of small details.
Also, Seonghwa does a lot of the vocal runs in this one-and he sings the “I’m in love” hook in the chorus. His voice is just hauntingly perfect.
The song can be taken as a straight up love song but Hongjoong has said it’s really about being in love with a dream-whether it’s a person or some goal.

I'm sure somebody already talked about this but every time you check an ateez song you can figure out if the song is talking about ATEEZ or HALATEEZ, in this case it's ateez. If you read the diary versions of the albums (there are stories written there since FEVER PT.1 album and they go on) it explains more about the MVs. In this case, they were together, they had their personal problems but they found happiness and freedom while being together. Unfortunately, Yeosang's dad (who apparently is very rich in the storyline) didn't like what Yeosang was doing, he insisted Yeo played the violin, he let him do music, but music he wanted his son to do, not the kind of music Yeosang actually wanted (that's why Yeosang says "limited freedom") We think Yeosang's dad is the one who closed the warehouse, the place where the boys stayed when they were together. That's why everything fell apart, each one went their own ways (Woo couldn't enter the warehouse and Hongjoong was alone) and they split.

Ateez make amazing music that is emotional... and they dont even need to sing. the instrumentals themselves are just so amazing. 100% tear up sometimes, but good music does sometimes actually make me cry. like full on tears, so.. The Diary Film is like one cinematic masterpiece.

I watched Inception mv before Diary Film. At first I didn't really know what this Diary Film was, so I probably watched it like 6 months after I had started checking out ateez in depth LOL. but, I did read what was out for the Diary entries in their Diary Version of their albums. When I finally watched the Diary Film, their story became clearer for sure. Felt satisfied because everything was lining up. You guys have great critical thinking skills. I could never. I think I'm pretty good at observing and pointing things out, but then to continue the thought into what does it mean, how does it fit into the story line, is usually hard for me.
I think I heard that the stairs during San's Resolution is supposed to be reminiscent of the Wonderland stairs. I think. And when Jongho was mad at mingi, i almost cried. Their acting during that part is really convincing.
Oh, yes. So in a recent interview, HJ finally confirmed that each of their stories is a mixture of fiction and each member's real life experiences. For example, Yeosang's parents did indeed want him to go the more academic route. And I do believe he does actually know how to play the violin. For Wooyoung, he had stage fright when he was younger. Now, he doesnt have stage fright anymore, or its not as bad as before (how it was depicted in the film). Seonghwa has tons of those to do lists/tasks posted on the wall behind him because he used to travel a whole lot between his hometown and Seoul when he was auditioning. He still went to school and on the weekends he went to Seoul to train. Busy, lots of things to do. And Jongho, he has had a few leg injuries. He did want to become a soccer player as he was growing up too, but in the end he did choose to become a singer. And plus with all the injuries, I don't THINK he could go pro in soccer. I see him with those knee compression things on his legs sometimes.
During Seonghwa's beginning scene, it is Say My Name mv playing. Apparently that mv is very very important to their story line. After I found out it was important, I had to watch SMN so many times, and still its so hard to catch things.
Even to this day, Inception is still one of my favorite mvs. I think I just like the cinematography and song together filmed like this. It was perfect. And the effects and everything are just really amazing. Hope you enjoyed this long comment! I'm excited for the next one too!
