    Brilliant. Just got my C280 serviced and check engine light came on a couple of days later along with low idle and a bit unresponsive. OBDII said "running rich on bank 1. This was the fix and it only took 2 mins. Thank you for your great advice.

    Just got myself a 2010 R350 and after changing some filters I noticed the rough idling as well and got the exact same codes. Watched this video and had a duh moment, went out right away, seated the air box, and bingo! Thanks for letting me know I was an idiot lol!

    Great video. Thank you. Just saved me a service. Worked like a charm.

    Astonished! I had the same code. I did t expect to find the clip in back of shroud to be unlocked, but it was. Im certain the crew at the local Valvoline Oil service left the shroud out of alignment, exactly what was presented in this video. I don't blame anyone for being skeptical, I wouldn't have believed it either.

    THANKS SO MUCH! I had the exact same issue. I changed my oil and air filters, so when I removed the top covers for the air filters and then reinstalled it, the top aft cover was not fully seated into the air neck in the center back of the aft cover. This was allowing a disruption in the proper airflow and caused a slight idle issue and air to fuel ratio issue to make it rich. P0172 (System too Rich Bank 1) and P0175 (System too Rich Bank 2). Once the cover fully seated, I cleared the codes and took it for a long drive. The engine light has stayed off. Thanks again for this video.

    Is it safe to drive with those codes if you’re not able to detect the issue

    Someone needs to remove the gas tank to fix my SL55, because that's my luck lol

      I got lucky this time. Good luck with the SL55 sounds like a pain. Reminds me of when my fuel pump went out in a firebird I used to own I had to drop the whole rear end, to drop the tank, to change the fuel pump. What a mission. It also didn’t help that the tank was almost full of gas 🤦‍♂️

    I have the same code only the P0172 on my CLK280 (M272 V6)
    The fuel mixture is too rich only on Bank 1, does this work if only one Bank is too rich?

    Thank you! Got this code after replacing the air filters, I guess I didn't push the cover all the way in.

    We are not so lucky. After driving home we suddenly got a terrible smell from the front of the vehicle. On the next day after coming to a stop sign, we got PO172 and PO175 codes. Don't see any fluid leaks around the engine but i suspect something might have failed in the engine bay. got any ideas?

    I had these codes and had a bremi MAF sensor my mechanic told me to switch to a oem or Bosch. Once he completed that reset the codes the car runs much better and most of all NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

  • @Brian_L_5168
    @Brian_L_5168 10 개월 전

    After driving 45 minutes & NO check engine light, this doesn't mean anything. You could have pending codes which will develop into check engine light !

      @@JustinFrascona He's right. If the air filter housing is not seated well, it would let uncontrolled air into the system, so your mixture would be lean and not rich. And no, i'm not here because of your professionalism...

    • @CarlosPerez-zx3dj
      @CarlosPerez-zx3dj 2 년 전 +1

      Both the air filter not sitting properly and the unsecured air duct at the front are pre air flow sensor. The sensor would be reading any “unmetered” air and adjust accordingly. Basically what I’m saying is that’s not the cause for those codes. Also, just a note: those codes need to be seen 2 times (different key cycles) to set off the light.

  • @macarronie_guru8624

    Your video is full of S, what that has to do is with code P2006
