There are over half a million police officer across the US(38,000 in New York City alone). If we assume only 1 in 1000 is a bad person(which would be WAY lower then any other walk of life), that’s at least 500 out of over 500,000. Yet there was a total of only 80 charges pressed against officers for killing between 2005 and 2017(less then 8 per year) with only 35% convicted. When good cops let bad apples act freely, it attracts other bad people to become police because they see what they could get away with, and the problem gets worse and worse.
