it's kinda hilarious how gentle and kind Jamie is considering he's playing one of the most violent, aggressive characters in the whole show. and aside from that he's such a talent. i dont think anyone else could capture Vecna/Henry/01 like Jamie.

@@juwe7143 seriously I mean paddy was just amazing. Took a role that should’ve probably just been forgotten after the first season and turned it into probably the strongest performance throughout the entire first season.
I really couldn't imagine a better casting for Henry/Vecna. Vecna totally scares me, but at the same time I find this character somehow fascinating and cool. The fact that 001 is Vecna was really a brilliant plot twist.

Same! I'm just binging it now and had to stop the final episode to check. Usually in these cases where they have full body prostheses they involve actors that are used to the process so I didn't think it was the same actor at all😂

You can tell that the rest of the cast and crew is in awe of him, and it’s not surprising. He did a phenomenal job
The cool thing about Vecna is that until now, the characters have mainly been facing detached, larger-than-life threats -- surreal entities that only appear in visions, and mindless monsters that only attack indiscriminately. But Vecna is a threat that feels so much more personal, as not only does he directly contact his victims almost to the point of real-world physical encounters, he gets in their head by forcing them to relive their worst moments rather than trying to create new ones. That sense of familiarity is what separates him from the other antagonists of the series, as fighting some*one* that possesses their own memories and motivations makes him all the more human; and going against one of your own is a different level of disturbing, especially when you consider that he actually is human.
The fascinating thing about Vecna is that for all we know, all the monsters in the upside down could actually be rather innocent. It could’ve just been Vecna controlling them and making them do these terrible things this whole time.
It’s already been confirmed that he was the one controlling the Mind Flayer, so for all we know, he could be the one controlling the entire Upside Down as a whole. It also explains why the Upside Down now looks like a parallel version of Hawkins, when that wasn’t the case before.
The dedication of Jamie is no doubt. But the dedication of these prosthetics designer? AMAZING.

Jaimie was so great as henry/vecna he did a wonderful job of portraying the creepiness of the character. The way he uses his voice the slow deep way he speaks and the way he looks at his victims definitely gave me chills. Stranger Things always does a great job with casting.
Jamie playing his regular self and Vecna is amazing cause they could’ve just changed actors but no he essentially had to be 3 different people. Portraying to be nice guy, then being a disturbed teenager, to just a vengeful other worldly being
The fact that he went through that every single day and never complained just shows you the type of guy he is. Makes me appreciate the show that much more 💛

The fact that every cast appreciated Jamie's patience and hardwork in wearing those costumes everyday on the set is everything. How can Jamie still smile wearing those costumes for so long he's even happy when he saw the visualization of the costume he was about to wear.

Jamie's regular voice as Henry just give me chills everytime, compared to his vecna voice, it's so satisfying and relaxing. He could start an asmr or podcast and i would gladly listen to it any day to sleep on it

It would be awesome if after they show finishes we get a behind the scenes documentary that covers all 5 seasons, would be really awesome to watch.
It's always like the most chillest people who play the most sociopathic like characters, and then when they are the character they can be so passive aggressive just like he said when he saw Millie, "And I'm crazy so-" he was being evil but when he gave her a hug he was being himself and not Vecna. Actors and makeup artists etc deserve a lot.
the make up is so amazing sometimes the visual effects take away from the masterpiece of art its still beyond stunning work and one of the greatest series an possible the best series to ever be on netflix thus far
Kudos to the staff and crew for creating Vecna for real instead of using cgi. And of course Jamie's performance!
He was a combo of the two- very FEW of the effects in this show are **not** CGI
it’s more kinda like gus’ half-blown off head from breaking bad, they used the live action makeup for reference for the cgi on top of it
What a ridiculously charming guy Jamie is. Since this show came out I’ve watched more interviews of him than I can count. Loved him in Sweeney Todd and Mortal Instruments. Well done to whoever casted him because you couldn’t have found a more perfect vecna and Henry.

The dedication of Jamie to the costume department, everyone involved helped make Vecna look amazing and the end result on screen was incredible 👏👏👏👏
Jamie brings passion and terror to his role as Vecna. He is one of the most memorable villains alongside Darth Vader, Voldemort, the White Witch, and the Joker.
Jamies dedication is literally everything, the fact that he’s been sitting in the chair for 8 hours doing all the prosthetics shows how good of an actor he is and not only that but shows how much he loves doing his job, many people would complain but it was stated that he didn’t even complain one bit, gotta love him❤️❤️❤️

Vecna is one of my favorite villains of all time. The slow, methodical movements. The VOICE, amazing! I rewound his scenes over and over.
This guy is brilliant. I must say he was even scarier in his own body than in Vecnas. How he acted being 001. (I think everybody knew from the beginning that he was 001) and how he literally became a villain from kind big brother. This is the whole another level. Absolutely loved it.
His voice is satisfying to hear! A podcast by him would be great!!!

Vecna is horror's Darth Vader! the voice! the presence! the visual and audio impact! its like how alien was the perfect space monster. we now have Vecna. Jamie is awesome as Vecna and a perfect choice. What a great talent of actors and makeup/costume designers this series has. they should be winning accolades. just brilliant and such dedication from all involved!
Jamie Campbell Bower is such a beautiful man with a languid physicality. I am astounded how he becomes such a grotesque new version of the character through painstakingly applied prosthetics and it is his own voice work for each character. Such amazing casting and fantastic acting. Great job & thank you to everyone involved!

Why am I smiling watching this interview? This guy is really talented yet so humble. I hope we see more of him on the big screen. I started watching stranger things because Vecna became viral
its the way his voice vibrates
This is the perfect proof in the pudding that it's important to mix both practical effects with vfx in a beautiful balance. It keeps the viewer invested, and there isn't a moment where we are saying to ourselves. "Oh, that isn't real at all." Huge props to the designers for Vecna's suit, and the make up crew prepping Jamie for hours into the suit.
Everyone that works in the stranger things team is on a different level... just incredible job all around.

Ik it’s been said but I think it’s so cool they actually put Jamie in the suit - not just have a stand in wear it for the scenes where he’s venca- it’s cool bc the one/venca movements translate so smoothly over both appearances (bc it’s the same actor in both !)

I love Jamie for the actor he is. Through Vecna we could see HOW MUCH he was dedicated to the character. Heads off to the Duffer brothers. The level of creation and imagination for this show is out of this world. Again Jamie - where do I even start from. If a character can get inside our heads at such an intimidating level then you know it is second to none. Everything about this show is just OUTSTANDING
