Anime: Gintama
Synopsis
The Amanto, aliens from outer space, have invaded Earth and taken over feudal Japan. As a result, a prohibition on swords has been established, and the samurai of Japan are treated with disregard as a consequence.
However one man, Gintoki Sakata, still possesses the heart of the samurai, although from his love of sweets and work as a yorozuya, one might not expect it. Accompanying him in his jack-of-all-trades line of work are Shinpachi Shimura, a boy with glasses and a strong heart, Kagura with her umbrella and seemingly bottomless stomach, as well as Sadaharu, their oversized pet dog. Of course, these odd jobs are not always simple, as they frequently have run-ins with the police, ragtag rebels, and assassins, oftentimes leading to humorous but unfortunate consequences.
Who said life as an errand boy was easy?

5:44 the fact that this is actually Gintoki impersonating Hijikata
To be fair, for Hijikata's VA to pretend he's Gintoki pretending to be Hijikata, he only had to act the way he usually does with Hijikata.
When they switched bodies, Hijikata's VA used Gintoki's voice and Gintoki's VA used Hijikata's voice. THAT I'm impressed they did exceptionally well.

My favorite Toshiro moment has to be when he's stuck in that cell with Sogo. The episode just kinda ends with him dying, it's pretty funny for no reason

well, actually Gintoki was created based on Hijikata like the creator said "Sorachi created the character after suggestions of his editors of having silver-haired samurai. He was originally going to be based on Hijikata Toshizō, the vice-captain from the Shinsengumi special forces. However, Sorachi changed his mind as he did not want the main character to be working in an organization and further remodeled his design into the present one"

I watched Gintama before One Piece but now looking back at these clips of Hijikata I like to believe that Zoro would react to all these crazy situations in the exact way that Hijikata does, since both Zoro and Hijikata have quite similar personalities except for the obvious difference that Hijikata is definitely used in a more comedy oriented role. Also 6:43 One Piece reference

Idk, Hijikata is more rule-oriented than Zoro is. If anything, Zoro might be even crazier in some ways.
And unlike Zoro hijikata doesn't get lost in different anime universes
