My guess is the different texture, ice cream is not a chicken/vegetarian wing.
Also Sean may be great at spice but it's okay if someone can handle the heat more, he's had more then a couple guests out spice him, unless you get that guest (looking at you Shaq) that pours every bottle of hot sauce on one wing and then tells you to eat it.

One of my favorite shaved ice flavors is chili chamoyada (like the chili lime seasoning in the video) - sweet, salty and spicy ... totally yummy!

@@lorrie2878 I decided once, while drunk, that bloody mary mix and mountain dew together were good. Never again. I was super sick the next day and couldn't enjoy anything with either in for a long time!

WHAAAAAAAT!?!?! this video makes me so happy. i 1st started following Mr. Chen when he did reviews in San Francisco (my home with the hotpot, the soup dumplings, the crab and garlic ) and then in Japan. and I love Mr. Evans with his in depth interviews with admirable peoples of such influence. even changed my opinions of some celebs, most memorable is Shia Labeouf. evenyone made him crazy, just because the internet, but he is a really wholesome and good dude. Just really good people on the net. go back and see what they do!!!

I once made my own bourbon/cherry/ghost pepper hot sauce, and it was AMAZING on ice cream. I also highly recommend putting Tajin on jello shots 😁

This is a dream collaboration.
This reminds me when I tried to to make a float with Guinness dark stout, it wasn't great but maybe chocolate or coffee ice cream might work. Vanilla and stout doesn't mix well. But I feel like it might work if not than tea floats since I heard some people put milk or cream in tea. I do recommend chilled or cooled coffee that has a little bit of creamer and chocolate ice cream though.
I had a hard cider float with vanilla ice cream. Kinda like a piece of apple pie a la mode.

There's a hot dog stand near me that make's their own hot sauce, and they make a spicy raspberry sauce for ice cream that's amazing. I love this combination as long as you can pull it off without adding in the taste of peppers into the mix, using an extract or other dry spice ingredients instead of the peppers themselves.
Mike and Sean have great chemistry as co-hosts! It can be especially hard when they're in separate locations but it really worked out.

Wow. I'm so shocked that Sean was not on board.
I almost exclusively eat ice cream that's spicy. First of all everywhere I've lived there have been great ice cream shops that make spicy ice cream within walking or less than 5 min driving distance of my place in DC, nyc, New Orleans and now in Texas. (I used to get spicy Thai ice cream and bird's eye chili ice cream ALL THE TIME.)
But even without that I always add my own spice at home. I love a good rich dark chocolate ice cream and then add cinnamon and cayenne to make it like a Mexican chocolate experience. Then I sometimes add little bit of flaky sea salt on top. Omg.
also in the salty spicy domain I will sometimes mix chili oil (think Thai peanut sauce) with some peanut butter or with hot fudge and drizzle it on top/ mix it through. WOW.
ice cream is often to uni-dimensional for my taste. A lot of the toppings are just more sugar but if you add cinnamon or Cayenne or salt it adds dimension and lets you appreciate the sweetness.
My issue with adding hot sauces is actually the presence of vinegar or other tarte element which does not go well with the creaminess of the icecream.
I agree with Sean... Ice cream and hot sauce have different roles in food. So, to quote The Rock, "KNOW YOUR ROLE!"....
This show is working out a lot better than I thought that it would (WAY better than, "Tacos al Doo-doo")...

In Mexico you can add chamoy as topping to your ice- cream and your paletas. We love mixing chamoy and piquín to our deserts.
