  • Mastering art in the public space - it's message and how it moves us.
    Vardit Gross is the director of Artport Art Center and Residency Program in Tel Aviv. She worked for over five years at Creative Time in New York as a curator, focusing on public art projects by prominent artists including Laurie Anderson, David Byrne, Zang Huan, and Jenny Holzer.
    Vardit is the Co-Founder of “Plaster”, an annual charitable art exhibition for Physicians for Human Rights in Israel and of Artport’s Art Book Fair.
    Vardit was Associate Director of Artis Contemporary for six years and is a leading writer about contemporary art in Israel (as the Art Columnist of Yedioth Aharonot Newspaper) as well as a contributor to ArtReview, Flash Art International, and Tablet Magazine among others. Vardit earned her Bachelor degree in Law and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University, and a Masters degree in Interactive Telecommunications from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

    Yes, art is everywhere in our environment! It's hard to explain that to people who aren't actively thinking about art.
