I agree with Shane I find this entire fertility journey really interesting. Very thankful to you guys for sharing the different steps of making a baby with us.

I struggled with infertility as a straight, married woman. We did IUI and IVF and I never asked my husband all the details of that room. He just said it was really awkward and uncomfortable. This was actually really interesting to watch 2 men discuss their experiences and compare. Also, congrats and good luck! So excited for y'all!

I'm a clinical lab tech and we had to learn about and how to perform sperm counts in school. It's pretty interesting and I may not remember it exactly right but the 94 M/mL means you have 94 million sperm for every 1 milliliter produced. This is why they ask you how much you may have missed in the cup because that can count against your total count. Motility is do the sperm move and how many are motile. When they perform the more involved tests, I'm sure they will look at how they move too. Like do they move in circles, straight lines, S shape, etc. They will look at morphology of the sperm too. Like are there 2 headed sperm and/or 2 tailed sperm. Most are usually normal looking and they will pick the normal ones for fertilization. Probably weird to nerd out in the comments but I hope it helps for anyone wondering.

This is incredibly interesting. I went through my own fertility journey a few years ago (heterosexual marriage). I got my results a few days later. I remember feeling like ice when I was told we’d have less than 5% chance of conceiving on our own, maybe 25% with IVF. I cried every day for 5 days. Then I found out I was already pregnant with our first baby! 3 years later, our second daughter arrived (we weren’t even trying!) I’m so happy you’re off to a good start. As the (now 23 y/o) daughter of lesbian parents who’s bio mom went through IVF, I️ want to thank you both for trusting your audience enough to share this journey with us, and when your child is old enough they will absolutely appreciate having these videos to watch, I wish my parents had filmed their fertility journey.
My moms’ plan had been for Ima (what I️ call my non-bio mom, mother in Hebrew) to carry their first child, but she found out at the fertility clinic that she was starting menopause and wouldn’t be able to carry a child. It broke her heart, she was so worried I️ wouldn’t love her as much, or see her as my actual parent.
I️ can tell you from the side of a child with gay parents that regardless of who ends up being the biological father, your child will love you both equally. It’s so clear how much you already love the child you’re going to have, and that’s ALL that will matter to them. Y’all are going to be amazing parents, and I️ can’t wait to continue seeing however much of this journey you want to share with us!

REALLY appreciate the realistic look into your journey to parenthood! I went down a similar path while trying to get pregnant several years ago. It’s very meaningful & I love the humor used to deal with a sometimes terrifying issue. (I had big infertility troubles that eventually caused me to have a hysterectomy at 29 so I’ve been down this road a lot! Also I got to see what my ex hubs had to do in that room!) Cheers!🤍

I’d research Cerebral a bit more before taking the sponsor again. Personally, had a horrible experience with them as they try it just push medicine on people within 15 mins of talking to them over video without properly looking at the past. Then a little while later a bunch of articles have come out with people having my same experience. I don’t know, but it’s just kinda yucky to be associated with them while they are having scandals for prescriptions. It’s not like Betterhelps scandal of not having real therapist to just talk to - this is medicine with real repercussions
